Kidnapped

There was something in her room with her, the lights had already been switched off, it was in the middle of the night, everyone was asleep, so there was no need crying for help anyways.

Delphyne sat up on her bed and spoke up, 'reveal your self, I don't like suspense', she had a tough day and was in no mood for horror. It was evident that whatever was in her room with her was shocked by her response.

There was a window between and the stranger, the moonlight seeping through, forming a path between them both. She felt the stranger move. Blood drained from her face, if she didn't just wake up from her sleep, she would have thought herself to be asleep.

'Since when did lizards understand English?!!!', Delphyne seemed amused. She approached the lizard like creature, the lizard couldn't fit in her room, her room door was open and the rest of it's body was outside the door.

'Hello', she was actually waving!!!, the creature's head was larger than her head with her body combined. The lizard did some magic trick and turned into a human, 'dawm!', Delphyne was simply gobsmacked, 'Can you teach me?', she was looking at the man with excitement.

The man rubbed his head in annoyance, 'you humans never cease to amaze me, though, I suspect you are different breed entirely' the man's voice was swoon worthy.

She walked out her room, since the man's body was no longer blocking her room door. In the kitchen she boiled some tea, and had her seat. The man's outfit was weird, it was like he was from the eighteenth century, he was dressed in a jacket, breeches and a vest.

The man did another 'magic trick', and opened up a portal, the portal was beaming with grey light. 'What the h*ll?', her inner voice yelled out. The man approached her, slowly. 'H*ll no!!!, there is no way I am walking into that thing'.

She stood up to leave, when it all went blank. Immediately the man closed the portal, all traces of the man's presence in that room disappeared along with him.

In the kingdom of Vera, a land that didn't exist in history or myths, portals opened all over the kingdom. On the streets, opera houses, in courtyards even in ball rooms. All citizens didn't appear to be startled, cause they all knew what day it was.

Men dressed in breeches, vests and jackets, they only wore the color green and yellow. The men marched out from the portals with women, women from all races, tribes and nationality.

Delphyne looked around in awe, the kingdom had no sky?, there was no sun or blue sky, there was a black shroud over the kingdom, the only source of light was a moon like object in the centre of the shroud. There were castles all over, they were markets with maids shopping for ingredients, there were large parks with noble people going for strolls. 'Did I go back to the past?', she was thinking out loud and the man who had opened the portal earlier looked tired of her.

As they approached the castle, she noticed she wasn't the only one that was dressed in modern clothes. Most of the ladies were dressed in night gowns, 'are these people perverts, why kidnap people in night gowns', she was eyeing the man by her side like he was the cause of all this. 'thank god for baggy clothes', she looked at herself with glee.

All of the women were placed in a large room. There were large chandeliers that were lit up with candles, there were tables with snacks, and lemonade, there was even a mini orchestra playing slow music.

Most of the women looked shaken and mesmerized at the same time. Delphyne looked around, 'it looks like they picked from different countries', not one of the women were of the same country. None of the women touched the snacks, except for a few that looked hungry. Delphyne was amused no stupid, she was thinking with all her brainpower, 'what if the food is drugged?', one voice rang in her head.

A woman walked in, with about two dozens maids behind her. They were all in a single file and were dressed in the same outfit, 'are they robots?', Delphyne asked the woman next to her. The woman looked at Delphyne like she needed an hospital.

The woman moved to the stage like ground to address them all. 'You all have been chosen to serve his majesty, we shall now proceed to dressing you up in gowns suitable for his majesty's sight, you shall all proceed to your chambers in groups, with the assistance of your respective maids'. The woman had a weird accent, it sounded like an ancient woman learned modern english.

The woman took her leave immediately not allowing any questions. All the women were left speechless including Delphyne. All the maids had pieces of paper in their hands. Now that all the maids had walked into the room, she noticed they were more than two dozens, there were about a hundred.

Each maid called out a name from the piece of paper, the women from the crowd left with their respective maids. Delphyne had nonidea what they were doing, but still hoped her maid would be nice. Her maid looked like a nineteen year old, she had green eyes like every other person in the kingdom.

After an hour of putting on fancy dresses and corsets that drained her life, they placed them all in the ballroom from before. It was a masquerade ball, 'whatever these creatures were they knew how to have a party', Delphyne was the chatty type and couldn't stop talking.

Halfway into the ball, a man with a presence impossible to ignore walked in. 'His eyes were grey!', it was quite odd, since everyone else had green eyes. His face was covered in a silver mask, leaving only his eyes for the women to swoon on.
