Meeting the Gods

As I walked across the market, the two messages kept on fighting; it seems like it won't end anytime soon.

[I would do anything for Esmond!]

[Same here!]

"Now, now, ladies, can you shut up and let me walk in peace?" It was starting to get annoying. I do feel their love, but sometimes it's kind of irritating.

Wait, they are gods, right? Can they hear my thoughts or know what I'm about to do? Probably not, since they don't even know what I'm doing.

Then a beastman soldier came running to me.

"Demon king, the commander Valier has returned from the human regions. He would like to report to you immediately."

"Very well, tell him to wait at the castle."

"Understood," the beastman disappeared, and I continued my walk until I smelled a few delicious meat skewers! They were a delicacy everywhere, so I had to try one.

"5 pieces of skewers," I said to the shop owner. He took a few skewers, rubbed them with some sauce, and gave them to me.

And I also grabbed a few drinks and checked out more stalls. This was the only time I'm gonna enjoy being outside.

I spent the entire morning and afternoon in the marketplace, and I got tired. Eventually, I returned to the castle via a carriage and slept for a couple of minutes.

As I arrived back at the castle, as per usual, the maids and workers greeted me. It was a long day of exploring my city. I should probably get some rest, but there was something I couldn't get out of my mind.

Did I forget something? Hmm, I thought real hard, but nothing came to mind. And if there was something important, the Goddesses would tell me.

With those thoughts, I laid down on my soft and comfortable bed and rested the entire night.

"Wake up," a soft and gentle voice whispered in my ears, "let him sleep!" Hm, this situation seems familiar.

When I woke up, I was in a dark place, not more like I was in space, as I could see the stars and planets. Where am I?

"I told you not to wake him up!" a voice came from the back.

"He's gonna wake up eventually," another voice added.

I looked and turned around and saw two magnificent beings. They were clothed in white; one had white hair, and the other was blonde. But their faces, I can't see them; their faces shined like the stars.

"Esmond!", the girl with white hair jump at me and hugged me tight this feeling is really familiar? Wait.

"Leticia?"

"You know me! You remember me!", she hugged me even tighter.

She pulled me closer and whispered into my ears, "I can't bare it if you forget me...", I shivered that was a different tone than usual.

"Stop that Leticia your embarrassing the gods", the blonde haired girl approached us.

"You must be cassia right?", I smiled at her, "thanks for the help always!"

"Well it's because you can't do anything stupid", she was saying it with full confidence but her ears were red.

"But why am I here?"

They looked at each other and cassia pulled Leticia off me, "well we just thought that we can talk in person"

"Oh well time is up we'll talk like usually via messages good luck out there Esmond!"

The two of them waved goodbye, and I suddenly fell unconscious. When I woke up, I was in bed again.

And then the head butler came knocking on my door in the early morning.

"Come in."

The butler bowed, "Sir Commander Valier has requested your presence for the 38th time."

Oh crap, this was the thing that I forgot last night. I grabbed my clothes and rushed off to my office and opened the door.

"I apologize for being late!"

Then I saw the same beastman who stopped me at the gate a few years ago. That's right, I made him the commander of my army.

"How long did you wait for me?"

"Only 8 hours, sir...."
