A Brief Fight?

Shizune stood near Tsunade, the latter sitting on the chair as they watched Shisui test his basic skills.

Tsunade's brow raised a little as she observed the young Uchiha ninja following one of his warm-up routines.

'His speed… agility… it's almost like the Fourth Hokage. Truly a versatile ninja, this one.'

The more she watched him fight, the more a strange feeling began to creep into her heart.

Shisui suddenly paused in his tracks while practicing his shuriken ninjutsu. He stared in the direction where Tsunade's Chakra was, his highly sensitive senses tingling.

'Battle…? Lust…?'

Although he had experienced battle lust directed at him in Shisui's memories, it was a different feeling to experience it in reality. Especially since he was a transmigrator.

It was not the best of feelings, but it was probably what animals sensed more easily—humans, having this sense dulled, progressed away from their instincts.

It scared him.

"Oi. Uchiha brat. Let's check how strong you are now in this current condition."

A surge of adrenaline flowed through his body… although he could not see Tsunade, and it was definitely harder to move due to his blindness, Shisui was honestly starting to get used to it.

If he had to scale his current power level along with his new weakness, he was definitely Jonin level specializing in a few aspects due to muscle memory and experience.

Nowhere near Kage level as before, but it was still a feat to be praised.

'Shisui trusted his eyes too much. Fortunately, he was a sensor and did not have a bad ear along with a great analytical mind although I must say he did not use it that often due to being secretly depressed and traumatized to an extent.'

Even the best tool in the shed will be dull if it is not used often especially if its dusty and overlooked over more flamboyant ones.

Currently, Shisui was trying to develop a new technique where, by spreading chakra in small amounts like strings everywhere, he could sense the positions of other people and objects.

However, it was still at a very beginner level.

Without the Sharingan, it was harder to actually control chakra, and while he had exceptional chakra control, now nerfed, it would still take a little time to develop this technique completely with a good amount of practice.

"Here I come, SHISUI UCHIHA!" Tsunade yelled.

*SWOOOSH!*

A rush of wind passed by Shisui, who barely dodged Tsunade's oncoming punch. He swiftly rolled over and jumped in the air, using chakra in his feet to stick to a tree—if he was lucky there was one.

He was lucky because there was.

'Damn… she is fast!' Shisui quickly thought, 'If I had been punched, I think I could have died.'

Using his expertise and the experience and knowledge of his body, Shisui focused on his hearing and threw a few kunai toward Tsunade's chakra direction.

She simply jumped in the air to avoid them; however, one kunai clashed against another, and one from the bunch flew in the direction of Tsunade… in the air.

'Hmmm…?'

Shizune's eyes widened as she witness the moment. Skillfull was an undertatement. Shisui's throwing skill was filled with poise and was like every ninja's wet dream.

…and this was just him playing with knives blind.

'Truly worthy of the Uchiha's best. Beautiful shurikenjutsu.'

Unable to dodge and surprised by the kunai mid-air, Tsunade tilted her head in an unnatural position and twisted her body.

Still, it left a small cut on her beautiful face. She instantly froze in that millisecond. Her entire body paralysed by the small drop of blood trickling down her skin.

Suddenly, she fell to the ground, kneeling. Her eyes were wide open and empty, completely lifeless as she relived her traumatic experience.

Her palms were stained by imaginary blood, and more covered her face and clothes.

Shisui frowned, frozen himself as he tried to make sense of the situation. Shizune, meanwhile, rushed toward Tsunade to help her. Using her medical expertise, it was a breeze to heal the cut—it took less than a second.

She looked at Shisui with an apologetic glance but then remembered the poor guy couldn't even see. So there was no need to show a glance like that. Shizune felt a bit foolish for doing so. Human nature to feel cringed out.

A sigh escaped her lips as she stared at Lady Tsunade, who was kneeling on the ground now, completely helpless.

Shisui walked toward them, an apprehensive expression etched onto his face.

"Why did we stop the fight…?"

However nobody replied back. Making the blind individual gaslight himself, believeing for a second that he was talking to air.

'This was a bad idea… fighting.' Shizune looked at Tsunade, concerned, and wiped the sweat from her brow.

After a few moments, Tsunade slowly came back to her senses, her mood a mix of frustration and sadness as her tongue became foul.

"Shizune, bring me alcohol."

Shizune wanted to say something but ultimately decided to obey. Passing by Shisui, she patted him on the shoulder as if she were now finally acknowledging the existence of a pitiful blind guy.

He was rather offended, true to god.

By the rocks of the small strip of river, a gentle breeze grazed past the two individuals sitting there.

Tsunade glanced at Shisui, and a small, relieved sigh escaped from her.

'Glad he does not have eyes to have been able to see my shameful display.'

Comforted by that fact and the hint of human presence, she relaxed a little, her thoughts drifting down into a small rabbit hole of her past, lingering heavily on Dan and Nawaki, and sometimes the First Hokage, and her childhood.

She bit her lip, trying to remove thoughts about them and falling deeper into the abyss of painful memories but to no avail. There was not much her broken soul could do without the remedy of what once made it whole.

Her eyes traveled to the chain around her neck, the blue jewel glistening as the rays of sunlight touched carresed it.

She looked at the mountains—they stood still, firm, and powerful. Unmoving, stoic like a monolith… oh, she wished she were like that, but no matter how she tried, Tsunade was bitter.

She hated the beautiful mountain. She hated the sound of the river, the ripples that cascaded and tried to calm her weeping heart.

However, she could not, and her eyes shifted to the only human solace in the vicinity. Looking at the blind man, she slowly relaxed a little, staring at him.

Removing her green coat and slightly pulling down her tight pants that were giving her a camel toe, she felt a little bit of stress disappear as the feeling of hotness began to dissipate.

'This kid looks a little like Nawaki. Their hairstyle is a little similar… and with his eyelids closed like that all the time… he looks a lot like Dan when he would give his signature kind smile.'

A feeling of frustration crept into her, and she stopped staring at Shisui and instead leaned back, looking at the clouds as another breeze brushed the ground and her hair.

"I really need a drink…"
