"Yes, after today, this theater will officially close," an elderly man suddenly walked up behind the crowd. "To be honest, this cinema has been open for 30 years, and I'm a little reluctant to see it go."
The old man, named Akio Muramatsu, was the owner of the cinema.
He wore a brown shirt with a black tie, round glasses, had graying hair, used a cane, and was slightly hunched.
He seemed old, almost a match for Director Ochiai.
However, Director Ochiai clearly looked much more energetic than Mr. Muramatsu.
"No wonder there were ropes scattered all over the screening room earlier—it's because the theater is closing," Conan thought, a little disappointed.
"I'm really sorry, little guy, for giving you such a bad movie-watching experience," Muramatsu said apologetically. "The people who bought the place scheduled the dismantling so tightly that our screening room ended up a mess."
"The contract isn't even signed until tomorrow, right?" Yuri Yuriko complained. "Why is that guy so eager to tear down our theater before paying? Is he that impatient?"
"What are you talking about?"
A loud, arrogant voice interrupted them.
Fujino turned towards the voice and saw a man approaching. He had a cigarette in his mouth, wore a black shirt, had dark skin, and looked like a mobster straight out of a gangster movie.
As he walked, he arrogantly said, "If it weren't for your old boss practically begging me to wait until the anniversary before closing, I'd have torn this dump down already. You lowly employees shouldn't even be talking."
"What do you mean our boss begged you?" Yuri snapped. "It's because of you that our business can't survive! And you haven't even paid yet—why should we tear anything down?"
"Alright, Yuri, don't say anymore," Muramatsu reluctantly tried to defuse the situation and greeted the man, "Mr. Tada."
"Hmph, at least the old man knows how to speak properly," Tada snorted. "You should be grateful I'm even buying this worthless cinema."
He looked around, his eyes landing on Yuriko, then the Junior Detective League, before finally stopping at Fujino.
Seeing Fujino's lean figure and soft skin, Tada sneered, "I can't believe I waited to come on this theater's last day, only to find a bunch of brats and one adult who needs kids to chip in for popcorn. How pathetic."
Fujino frowned and glanced down at the popcorn and coffee in his hand.
"Are you deliberately trying to provoke me?"
"Mr. Tada, could you stop harassing our guests?" Yuri said sternly, her voice tinged with anger.
"What's with the attitude, woman?"
Tada took a puff of his cigarette and looked back at Fujino, his tone increasingly hostile. "A man who relies on kids for popcorn and needs a woman to back him up is a loser."
"If you don't know how to talk, just shut up."
Fujino's expression darkened. "And if you can't shut your own mouth, I can help."
"You brat, calling you a loser isn't enough?"
Tada clenched his fists, taking on a thug's stance. "You looking for a fight?"
"Threatening me?"
Fujino's calm face tightened as he cracked his knuckles, his body exuding a cold, intimidating aura.
The air around them seemed to drop a few degrees as his fighting spirit surged.
"Fujino, are you...?" Conan watched Fujino's back, his face slightly concerned.
He could tell Fujino was serious.
"Are you worried about him?" Haibara asked Conan, standing nearby.
She also noticed Fujino's sudden change but didn't seem overly concerned.
"I'm more worried that guy will get beaten to a pulp…" Conan replied anxiously. "It's one thing if Fujino were up against criminals, but brawling with someone like this could get him arrested for fighting."
"Don't worry. They won't fight," Haibara said calmly. "Fujino isn't impulsive like you. That man's just here to cause trouble for the cinema."
"What do you mean, impulsive like me..." Conan rolled his eyes, then gave Haibara a playful smile. "But I have to say, you've gotten to know him pretty well in such a short time."
Haibara shot Conan a glance. "Thanks to a certain detective who kicked me out in the middle of the night."
"But even if I do know him, it's not much…"
She withdrew her gaze, speaking to herself, "What we know about him is just the facade he wants us to see. I doubt anyone could truly understand him."
...
After Fujino unleashed his fighter's aura, Tada immediately panicked.
His cigarette fell to the floor as a wave of fear washed over him.
Without realizing it, the back of his shirt was soaked with cold sweat.
"Hmph, I'm not going to stoop to a kid's level."
After a brief silence, Tada snorted and retreated towards the screening room.
As Haibara had said, his main goal was to cause trouble for the cinema.
Creating more problems wouldn't benefit him.
Besides, somewhere deep inside, he felt that this young man, who didn't look particularly strong, could probably leave him half-paralyzed in three moves.
As someone involved in real estate in the '90s, Tada had a bit of a shady background.
The same terrifying aura he now felt from Fujino, he had only experienced from the high-ranking figures involved in the Tokyo Bay land reclamation project.
Fujino watched Tada scurry away.
In Beika, such bold people were rare.
Disrespecting detectives, a terrible personality, and the fact that he was a company president—those traits together could only mean one thing.
Knowing the world of Conan, Fujino thought it wouldn't be long before Tada became another case for the detectives.
But Fujino still felt unsatisfied…
He hated being called a loser more than anything.
He would ask later which company Tada worked for.
Fujino was the type to settle scores eventually.
At that moment, a man named Minoru Furuhashi, who had heard the commotion, stepped out of the projection room.
"That guy is always such a pain," Furuhashi muttered as he picked up the cigarette butt that had burned a small hole in the carpet, his fists clenched as he glared at Tada.
