Chapter 10 - the next plan

Today, two shady men walked into his motel. Both men looked shady as hell. As always, he gave them both stink eye while getting their details to register them in his book. Not that the registration mattered. None of them ever gave an accurate detail anyway. It was only to keep tabs on his money. Anyway, the men paid for one room even though they were both men. 'Must swing that way. Well, they better not try to drag me into it.' He thought to himself. Not that he cared; He only cared about his money.

Night came and as always, the old man stood guard against those who tried to sully his sacred ground with their non-paying behind the dumpster sex. His two new tenants had left in the evening and had yet to return. Morning almost came and in the corner of his eye, he could have sworn he saw one of the tenants return bloodied. He moved quickly but he at least saw it, although he was not too sure.

The old man shook his head and went into his office. When morning came, he saw the other one walking into the room looking angry. That was it. The old man had had enough. He was going to kick them out. He grabbed his trusty shotgun and walked to their room. The closer he got, the weirder they sounded. Through the crack in the door, he peered through to see one bloodied and the other speaking gibberish.

That, however, was not what caught his attention, no. It was the news that was running on the old T.V about the murders. With his quick wittedness he pieced everything together. The murderers were standing right in front of him. Maybe if he took them down, he could get a reward. It would be great publicity for his motel, and many would come from far to stay there. Maybe he would finally be able to renovate his place. More money.

He had made up his mind. He was about to burst in, but something was wrong. No, something was very wrong. He could not move his body. Was he having a stroke at such an important time? Just when he was about to get rich? 'Impossible', he thought to himself. He was stuck in the same peeping position, which made him feel slightly silly. "Now that you're up. Take care of our witness and get cleaned up. We need to go get supplies in town." He heard the other one speak as he watched him walk to the bathroom. That was when reality finally dawned on him; they were murderers, and he was stuck. No matter how much he tried to lift his shotgun that had never failed him for decades, he just couldn't.

The bloodied one walked to him with the most terrifying smile and spoke, "Let me show you our lord Valrog." Before dragging him inside the room. The old man's screams reverberated throughout the room, yet no matter how much he screamed, no one seemed to hear. How he wished at this point those no paying sex behind the dumpster junkies would come around, but no one came. A few minutes later the screams finally died down.

On top of a building far from the Titan Dojo, two people stood next to each other. One was a tall man with a slim build, and the other was very tall woman with large build. The woman had large muscular arms and legs to go with her huge build. Her hair was deep purple with purple eye colors. She had a beautiful mature face which she held in stoic. She was Hachi, ranked 8th of the shadows.

The man was tall as well, but in contrast of the woman, he had a slim build. He had deep black hair, with deep dark eyes that made you feel like you a predator was staring right at you when you looked into them. He had three long marks that started from under his right eye all the way down his chin. This was Nana, ranked 9th of the shadows. Currently the two were standing atop a roof somewhere near Martin's Park, where the incident happened. Well, one stood and observed the incident area, while the other paced back and forth with a very annoyed look on his face.

"You know we're being punished right? This is just punishment. We're being punished for obeying orders. This is such bullshit." Nana continued to complain as he paced back and forth while he mumbled a few words to himself. No matter how he looked at it, he felt it was extremely unfair. Although he knew exactly how the princess was, this time he felt she may have been a little too angry. "This is all because of that boy." Nana quickly concluded.

"You're losing your rationality to your anger." Hachi, the beautiful burly woman who had been ignoring her partner all this while finally spoke. "The boy did nothing. Stop trying to find a target for your misfortune. This time we were quite unlucky." She paused to think for a while before she continued, "It does seem somewhat unnatural though. I have never seen the princess this angry. All because of that boy." It was understanding to her. The princess had been in the world for a few years already, it was quite surprising the boy was able to get the princess to fall for him that quickly. Love. That was the only explanation to it. Even if she did not want to get a mortal involved in our world, she should not have acted that angrily; After all, he was just another mortal.

That aside, there was no way the elders or the other princes and princesses would allow such a thing. What is worse was if the master of the sect heard of this, the outcome for the boy and his family would not be something pleasant. Not that it mattered to her. All she had to do was continue to complete her missions and earn money and resources.

"I know. I know. *sigh*. So, what now?" Nana asked his partner. They had been kicked out of the dojo and been given a next to impossible task. The princess may have been angry, but she was completely in control. Especially with her words. That meant they truly had to find the others of the Blood Church or they would not be able to return home. Their true home.

"For now, let's go get some supplies and scout around. Then we can find an abode" Although at their levels they could go days without sleep as well as go for days without food, they at least they had a roof over their heads. Their previous abode was stocked with food, so they did not have to keep any on themselves.

"As for the Blood Church, we can start with at the beginning." Nana looked confused at his partner. They were standing at the beginning, so what did she mean? Seeing his partner's confused look, Hachi explained, "I mean we need to go back to the people actively looking for them. The boy and his father." No matter how she looked at it, the boy was definitely not someone simple among the mortals. Seeing how he commanded the red-haired girl back at the café, she knew he had some secrets he was keeping.

"Are you crazy?! You want us to return to the very same reason we're in this situation?!" Nana was beginning to wonder if their sudden 'exile' had messed with her head. "You know how they are. They would rather get rid of anyone snooping around too much. When that happens, we'll be there to finish them off." Hachi went on to explain. Nana looked surprised at first before a wide grin formed on his face.

"You mean to use them as bait. You knew Hachi, you might not look it, but you have quite the ruthless mind. You say not to blame the boy but look at you trying to get your little petty revenge." Nana smiled at her with a 'nice going' type of look, to which she rolled her eyes at him before looking away. Coming to an agreement, they both disappeared from the roof of the building.
