[YOU DON'T NEED TO APOLOGIZE]

"No! I doubt that, no man will propose marriage to a lady he doesn't love or want to be with, unless they are just boys in men's clothing. If he did so, then you know why right." Enoch said, trying to get the truth out of me.

I didn't know wether it was a good idea to let him know why am not marring Edward, my fiance, even if he comes back asking me to do so. I saw Enoch as a stranger, but in my heart, he was not, yet it was difficult for me to talk about my so called fiance with him.

"Why is Gideon not here with us, did he go somewhere, or you ordered him around?" I asked, changing the topic from the unwanted place it was.

"Hay! don't be so judgemental okay? it not good to think bad of people you don't know. I didn't send him anywhere, he just decided to go for a walk." Enoch answered with a smirk that am beginning to dislike.

"Okay, am sorry I said that, I just...." I tried to apologize.

"You don't need to apologize, it's nothing, and it's even good you asked, it's shows how observant you are. " He said after sipping on his drink.

I made an attempted to talk again, but then we heard footsteps coming upstairs to the restaurant in a rush, making everyone who heard it turn to it direction.

Both Enoch and I became alert, Incase it anything like robbery or something close to that. Even when others stopped looking after a while, thinking it might be someone just in a hurry to get up the stairs, we kept looking untill the person surfaced.

"It's Gideon, he looks angry and really tiered, as if he's been running for a while, like a horse that just run a mile. But why, did something happen to him?" I kept thinking till he near us at our table.

" Si..... eerm... Enoch, there's a problem and you need to get to the.... " Gideon tried to tell Enoch why he came in a hurry, but Enoch stopped him from talking as he lifted his hand to his face.

"Text it to me." Enoch said with his cold voice that am still not use to.

"But si..... it's really urgent, and it's about mi...." He couldn't complete his statement since the cold man in front of me won't let him talk.

"I said text it to me right? What good will it do for you if you keep standing here speaking, when you know me better? Just do as I said, text it to me, now!" Enoch was beginning to get annoying.

Gideon said no more and just took his phone to text Enoch as he walked out of the restaurant, looking a bit angry.

I didn't get what was going on there. "Why won't he listen to what his friend came to tell him, and what was the need to text him when he was right there in front of us? And Gideon, he looked lost, he didn't even know how to call his own friend, he kept saying si, si, si, as if he wanted to call him sir or something like that.

Is he not use to calling Enoch by his name? How is that possible when we are all practically colleagues, even though their graduation was some months before that of the police service."

I kept thinking about what just happened till I was stopped by the sound of Enoch's phone, meaning Gideon did as he was told, even though he was angry.

I looked at Enoch till he was done reading the text sent to him, then he continue eating his salad as if nothing really happened or what was sent to him was of no importance to him.

" I'll be glad if you still want to be here with me after what happened, but if you don't, we can go wherever you want us to, that is if you have any place in mind." Enoch said, still eating his salad with no change in his expression.

"I don't think so, and I'll be glad to be here but, I think what your friend came to tell you is important, why don't you go and attend to that instead." I made sure he gets the fact that I don't get him in my statement.

"Why did you treat him like that? You were too harsh on him, and yet you call him your friend," I wanted to know what was up with those so called friends, who looked nothing like it.

"I never told you he was my friend, or did I? " I gave Enoch a questioning look when I heard him say that.

" You don't know me yet, so don't presume things. I don't like explaining myself ether." Enoch said when he noticed me just looking at him.

" Am done here, and if you don't mind, can we go now?" I wanted to go back home and rest my head. " I was beginning to get angry, so I thought it best I get going.

" I know you want to know who he is to me, but don't worry, you'll get to know more about me soon, maybe when we next meet." He said with his annoying smirk plastered on his face.

"Who told him we were going to meet again, it's not as if I have nothing to do but answer his every call, just so I can meet him." I said to myself, but am sure he heard me, even though he didn't respond.

"Let go, I'll take you where ever you want to be, even if it's home." Enoch said.

I wish I could wipe the smirk of his face as he said that. And what does he mean by home, is it my or his that he's referring to.

"Don't worry. Just take me to the bus stop, I'll get a cab there to the house, thanks for everything," I knew I wouldn't find my way back, I needed his help after all.

" Okay but please be very careful, one of the guys escape from the cells, it's the boss if you care to know. Please watch where you go and who you talk to." Enoch said even before I could get up from the seat.

"So that was what Gideon came to tell him, and he did all that drama because he didn't want me to be upset, and maybe stop eating. But why is he caring for me so much,"

I couldn't say anything but just think while looking at him with a sad face. It was not because I was sad or scared of anything, but just because I wish it was my fiancee who was doing that for me, and not some random stranger.

"Hay! you don't need to be sad okay, am here for you. I know am not a police officer like you, but I promise he'll be back in the cell in no time. I'll personally see to that so please calm down." He thought I was sad because of what he told me, so he wanted to calm me.

"Thank you." Was all I could say after that caring speech from Enoch.

He got up and helped me out of the seat before we went out of the restaurant holding hands. How was I to stop him from holding my hand, when he's doing a lot for me.

We got out and as expected, Gideon was by the car waiting for us, which got me thinking again, "These two look like someone and his master, come to think of it, both Enoch and I were in a casual wear, while Gideon was still in uniform, at first I thought he was on duty, but since he's been here all this while, I don't think so. Anyway I'll get to know soon.

We got to the bus stop and Enoch got me a cab, one that will take me straight to my house. We normally call it "Dropping". Enoch payed the driver even before I could protest, and then gave him a strong warning. "Don't even think of taking anyone else, and take her straight to her house, do you hear me?"

I was shock to death. How can he just warn someone like that? Even though some drivers have been doing that, it's not like he was going to do the same with me in the car, how rude.

Just as he was done and making his way to me, he got a call and received it, which made him run back to the car Gideon was driving, without saying goodbye to me. For a while, I thought he'll be coming back, but I saw the car moving away and they just left.

"He was behaving all nice a while ago, so what happened now? I thought he cared for me, but I was just mistaking." I mumbled to myself. "Driver, just take me home will you." I could feel a little bit of anger in my voice.

"Yes ma'am," The driver respond and just drove off in full speed, but I didn't care.
