Chapter 5 Friends

He's not wearing a suit like yesterday. He's wearing a plain shirt and pants. His copper brown hair is unruly but he looks even more attractive today.

"Am I also banned here?" I asked anxiously.

The last thing I wanted to happen is to be dragged outside by the security. My sister is not even here to help.

"No." He answered calmly.

He doesn't look mad.

"Oh my! Georgina!" A young woman screamed. She's just a few feet away from us. She just entered the premises. A guy next to him is equally stunned looking at me. They walk towards me.

I glanced back to Gin and he's intently looking at me. He's like trying to read my mind or my reaction. I look at Simon pleading for help. I don't remember this person. I don't know what to say if they speak to me. I don't want to happen what happened yesterday with Gin.

"They're your friends Miss," Simon whispered. Gin must have heard him.

"Cherry, Jeremy." He mentioned their names as they approach us.

"Where you've been? You never answered my calls back. What happened to you." The woman named Cherry asked.

"I- I got sick. Cherry." I answered hesitantly.

"For a year?" Cherry asked confused. "Wait. It's more than a year since we last saw you." She added.

More than a year? I was only in a coma for like 6 months.

"What happened? You okay?" Jeremy asked.

"I'm fine now. I just recovered." I answered.

Cherry suddenly hugged me.

"I missed you, Georg." She said. She then let go and look at my face to face. "So your not pregnant?" She asked curiously.

"Pregnant?"

"Cherry." Gin interrupted her but Jeremy continued.

"Yeah. We never heard from you for a year, a rumor circulated, you got pregnant by Daniel and gave birth abroad."

"Daniel?" I muttered. Who's Daniel? Here we go again.

"Guys, let's go. I'm hungry." Gin interrupted. Thank God.

"Okay, give us your number first. We need to talk again." Cherry persisted.

"Yeah! We have so much to tell you." Jeremy added.

Tell me? They're my friends. Yes, they can help me remember.

"O-okay.."

I took my phone and look for my number. I don't memorize it yet.

"Ew," Cherry said disgustedly. "Is that your phone?"

I nodded.

"I just bought it. I lost my old phone." I explained.

"Is that why you didn't answer our calls?" She asked again.

I nodded.

I told them my number. Gin had to drag them to leave us alone. And after half a minute, I received texts from them telling me to save their numbers.

"Can you believe that?" I asked Simon.

"The pregnancy rumors? No." He answered.

"No! Silly. I have friends! Well, I can't remember them but they tried to contact and look for me."

I inhaled and exhaled deeply.

"I thought I don't have friends that's why nobody visited me in the hospital and the house. Do you know why my parents keep my accident from everyone?" I asked.

"The accident is still under investigation. And it will be helpful to solve the case if people don't know what happened to you. Less information, the safer."

"I thought I slammed the car to a tree?"

My parents elaborate on how I got into an accident.

"You were after someone hit you."

My parents didn't tell me that.

He sounds like he knows something. I remember a police visit the day I woke up. They asked me questions about the accident but I can't remember so I can't answer them.

"You're not just a driver, are you? You're like a bodyguard." I asked

He just smiled.

"How long you've been working with my parents?" I asked.

"3 years Miss."

"What was I like?"

He didn't answer.

"Oh please, Simon. I want to know. It'll help me remember. Please be honest."

"You were kinda like a brat."

"Okay. What else? Was I also mean to you?" I asked.

"Just a few times when you're not in the mood."

Our order arrived so we ate and change our topic to cellphones.

After we ate, we went home. I received another text from Cherry and Jeremy. They are inviting me to Jeremy's birthday party on Saturday. 3 days from now. The venue is a bar owned by Jeremy's uncle.

Gin seems to be close to them as well. I can't go if he's also going.

I replied to the text and asked Cherry.

'Gin will be there?'

'Of course, he's Jeremy's best buddy.'

'Sorry I can't go. He hates me.' I replied.

'He said you can go. Just don't follow him around.'

What? Follow around? He's so full of himself. But did I do that before? Was I that desperate?

'I won't.' I replied.

"Oh my! Is that the phone you bought?" Bett asked. The horror is on her face.

"Yep. It's super cheap." I answered proudly.

"Okay, so your taste got amnesia too."

"Bettany!" Mom scolds her.

Daddy laughs as he looks at my phone.

"You should have waited for me to buy you one," Bett said.

"What's wrong with this one? It looks good."

"Don't mind your sister. You can buy anything you want, cheap or not." Dad answered.

"Thank you." I smiled back.

He nodded. I can see them happy looking at me. Bettany enjoyed teasing me. Why was I mean to them? I have this perfect family. We're rich and I seem to have nice friends.
