"I'm not impressed." He said and Kalina guessed the laughter in his words. "Still." She returned, trying to match his amusement and completely failing. That man had a knack for annoying her, that was for sure. ¿Why? Kalina didn't know for sure. She felt a little stupid about the discovery, but there was something else. Something attracted her to him, that was undeniable.
At first, the remote shores looked like an immense dark giant lying on the horizon. Afterward, Kalina could distinguish the green of the forest and the white rock constructions.
Kalina knew Kru was situated on a high cliff within a pocket bay. However, this did not prepare her for the spectacular view of the empire's great capital.
The entrance to the bay was a very narrow and deep navigable channel. And that single entrance was fortified and armed in a formidable way. As they passed she admired the enormous forts and could see the heavy artillery glimmering in the sunlight. The sun was already falling on its western bed. Kalina could distinguish dozens of bulky redhead soldiers. All the Krus were of impressive stature.
Then she saw the imperial castle. It was three times larger than the Sacra Cita palace. However, what caught her attention the most, was a huge stone bridge that crossed the end of the canal. It was such a wonderful piece of engineering!
