Kent Nelson had been surprisingly amicable about handing over Nabu's Helmet of Fate once the werewolf incident was wrapped up. He joked that he'd been trying to get rid of the thing for decades, but I could tell that when he really handed it over, there was a bit of hesitation in his gait. That was truly the last time he would ever be Doctor Fate. He was definitely shook up about that fact. That was on top of already being physically exhausted from channeling a power his body could no longer handle.

Alice had kindly offered to drive him to his hotel because he looked pretty worn out after donning the helmet and becoming Dr. Fate. He agreed to let her drive him, and they had left a few minutes ago.

With the ritual successfully completed, every single wolf was now knocked unconscious. So, there were basically 11 no longer clothed shifters just passed out right in the middle of the reservation. As a result, the only conscious people here were myself, Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper. It was an awkward situation to say the least….

"Um, so...," Emmett started to say, "... should we just go?" He questioned while glancing around at all the passed-out teens. This would be an awkward cleanup to say the least and I could tell he definitely didn't want to participate. Hell, I didn't want to participate either…

The Cullens definitely went above and beyond in helping out the shifters this time anyway. They had to dodge fangs and claws from all directions until Fate showed up and saved them.

"I guess we can just go," I said. "I'm sure they'll all be fine when they wake up." Probably confused that they all looked so different and were all rippling with muscles now, but fine nonetheless. "I'm just gonna move Leah into Sam's house so she doesn't have to wake up surrounded by all these naked boys…"

Rosalie nodded and agreed that was a good idea. I gently picked up the girl who I had choked out ten minutes previously when she was possessed and trying to maul me. I told the three vampires that I would catch them all later. It was still pretty early in the afternoon, so I decided to go out and do some flying to de-stress from the weird situation I was just in. After I returned home with Nabu's helmet, and put it away somewhere first.

"There you go, Nabu," I said as I put his helmet on top of my dining room table. "Now you can join me for meals and don't have to be locked away in a closet or a car boot all day." I gave the golden helmet a smile and to my surprise it momentarily flashed in response. Huh, I guess Nabu can see out of the helmet even when no one is wearing it.

With that taken care of I donned my costume and took to the skies in a random direction to try and find some place with lots of sunlight.

—————————-

A little later, I found myself leisurely soaring through the skies over mainland America, not having any specific destination in mind. I was simply enjoying the freedom of flight. I believe I was somewhere above New Mexico. The weather was delightful with bright sunshine enveloping my body, and I relished every moment of it. The clear sky presented the perfect conditions for flying, with not a single cloud in sight. I spread my arms wide in the sky and soaked up the rays…

DRIP!

Huh? Something cold and wet just hit my face. "What the hell!?" I exclaimed. When I opened my eyes, the sunny sky was gone! There wasn't a hint of blue sky anywhere. The entire sky above me was now dark storm clouds. Did I fall asleep or something in mid-air for a bit? The weather definitely wasn't supposed to change that fast!

I saw something forming on the horizon near a small town. It looked like—OH SHIT!

WOOSH!

And there it was—a tornado, a very large and incredibly fast-moving tornado jutting down from the clouds. This wasn't any average tornado either. This was a massive F5, easily! The winds at this point were howling incredibly loudly, but even through them, I could hear the people of the town panicking and running for their lives towards the nearest shelter.

"What the hell!" "Oh my god, run!" "We're not supposed to even get tornadoes here!" The people in the small town were understandably panicked. I now had to decide whether to evacuate all of them or try and stop the tornado on my own.

"Ok, Kara, how exactly do you go about stopping a tornado?" I questioned myself out loud. Maybe I could try blowing on it and hope the change in temperature messes it up…

"..."

"Supergirl down here!" Even over the continuously roaring winds, I heard someone shouting my name loudly. I looked down towards the ground below me and saw a figure dressed in red. I zipped down towards them as fast as I could go, which was pretty fast. To this guy, though, I probably looked like I was going in slow motion.

"Flash! I'm glad you're here!" I exclaimed happily. "This freaky tornado just sprang up out of nowhere. I could swear not even 2 minutes ago the sky was perfectly clear."

Flash nodded at me. "Yeah, there have been strange reports popping up all over this area that multiple tornadoes were appearing out of thin air. They haven't killed anyone yet, thankfully, but this is the first one that has appeared near a town. New Mexico only gets like 10 tornados a year and this is the 5th today…" He explained rapidly, and I appreciated that because we didn't have a lot of time.

The tornado was now barreling right towards the small town, and I would estimate it would hit in less than 2 minutes. "How do we stop it?" I asked him. "Should I try freezing it out with my ice breath?"

Flash glanced up at the tornado for a second, probably analyzing it at super thought speed. "That could work, but it might not be in time to stop it before it hits the town. No, we gotta counter the force of its winds by going around it fast in the opposite direction. You go high, and I'll go low. Fly as fast as you can around that thing!" Flash said as he raced off towards the base of the tornado. I took off in the same direction towards the top of the tornado.

Flash, the speedster that he is, was already in position by the time I got there, ready to start. He shot me a thumbs up, and we began our plan. With determined focus, I pushed myself to fly right into the raging winds and began to circle the tornado in the opposite direction. The winds howled fiercely against me, but I pressed on, determined to counteract the deadly force of nature. My cape, which had mainly been there to make me look cooler till now, was actually proving incredibly useful for this experience because it was creating a stronger drag force!

As I circled the tornado, I could see Flash racing along the ground, mirroring my movements. Flash was incredibly ballsy with this plan. He didn't have the super durability that I did, and I could see even as he was running, he kept having to duck out of the way of moving shrapnel and debris. Our combined efforts were beginning to show results. The tornado's path started to waver, and its intensity seemed to diminish slightly. The fierce winds that once threatened to devastate the town were now meeting resistance from our rapid counter-circulation. Still, we couldn't afford to slow down.

With a final burst of effort, the tornado began to lose its coherence, slowly dissipating into nothing! Flash and I had succeeded!

"Hell Yeah!" I cheered as I flew down towards him. I hit him with a high five that was some solid teamwork.

"Hey, check it out, the sky is starting to clear up!" Flash pointed up, and it was true. As if all those black clouds were never there in the first place, the entire sky turned blue again before our eyes in less than a minute. "Huh, what is that?" Flash squinted his eyes to try and spot something way high up in the air.

With my enhanced vision, I was able to make out the figure clearly. The entire being was red and yellow and wearing a blue cape. He wasn't human either, but a machine... It looked like the character Red Tornado. Wasn't he a hero though? Why was he out here almost destroying a town?

"Do we got a supervillain situation on our hands?" Flash asked while glaring up at the android. "That tornado was no joke; after all, that whole town would have been leveled."

"I'm not sure," I said with some confusion. I suppose it was possible that this Red Tornado lookalike was evil. Or maybe he had even just been created recently and hadn't yet developed sentience yet. Without any information, all I could do was speculate.

"Look out!" Flash gave me a warning. I looked up, and the Android had aimed both of its arms towards us from on high. Originating from his arms, two tornadoes came spiraling down fast. Neither of them was as big as the one we had just stopped, but they were spinning at much more rapid speeds.

I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with as much air as possible, and then I turned and faced the two smaller cyclones coming at us, and I exhaled. My icy breath slammed into the two tornadoes, and for a moment, they canceled each other out. Eventually though I won out as my breath pushed on through the two smaller tornadoes and dissipated them. At that moment, the wind all around us fiercely kicked up again, momentarily obscuring our vision from all the dust flying around the air.

"Whoa *cough*… dusty," Flash said, choking a bit from all the dirt that our clash of powers had just kicked up. When it eventually cleared away, the Android had disappeared…

"He's gone," I said to Flash, who looked a bit surprised at that.

"Wow, he was able to escape your super senses? Impressive… Also, what the hell was that guy?"

"It looked like some kind of robot or Android."

"A robot, really?" Flash said, scratching his cheek. "Damn, I didn't even know our technology had reached the point that we were creating robots now… especially superpowered robots that can almost destroy entire towns." He had a contemplative look on his face.

I didn't know human technology had reached that point either. I was thinking I was in a low-tech DC Universe where the technology was similar to my past life. Clearly, the existence of an Android like Red Tornado proved I was wrong…

"So what should we do if we run into Big Red again?" Flash asked me. I didn't want to have to give the response I did, but I really wasn't left with any choice in the matter when it came to innocent lives.

"If he tries to do the same thing he did today, then you'll have to put him down. We can't have a mass-murdering evil robot terrorizing the world after all," I replied solemnly. It would be a shame to lose such a cool hero, but I couldn't afford to allow for any casualties while it developed sentience and grew a conscience, if it ever even would. No, if Red Tornado turned out to be a villain in this universe, then he would have to be scrapped…

"Well if it's truly a robot I have no problem with that." Flash said before he continued, "Soooo, what should we do now?"

I just gave him a shrug before telling him that he should go and check on the townspeople–Post heroic deed obligations and all that. He asked me if I wanted to join him in that, and I just waved him off. It was his idea that ended up stopping the tornado and saved all those people. He deserved the credit for this one. I wanted to sweep the area and see if I could find anything also. Any reason why Red Tornado was here in the first place.

After departing from the Flash, I spent the next hour searching the entire area around the town using my X-ray vision, looking for any hidden cameras or secret underground villain bases. Unsurprisingly, there wasn't anything to find. I'm still not sure how Tornado managed to escape from me so quickly. I know he can move as fast as the wind, but compared to me, that should be nothing. It was like he just vanished into thin air, though. There was also another thing that was bugging me, and that was Red Tornado, while incredibly powerful, shouldn't be powerful enough to change the weather in the entire sky. Yet somehow, that had happened. Was there another Android hidden nearby as well with that ability? All these questions with no answers were leaving me frustrated. I decided to call it a day and head home.

—----------------

I flew home, and once I got there, I changed out of my costume and checked my phone. I had 13 missed calls from Alice… wow. I really needed to figure out a way to start taking this thing with me on patrol without it burning up. I thought my Kryptonian tactile telekinesis should have been protecting anything I was touching while flying fast, but if that was the case, the money I kept putting in my boot wouldn't be getting torched.

Now that I think about it… have I ever actually used tactile telekinesis?

I mean, I obviously used it when I caught that 747 out of the air… but had I used it since then? Was it something that I could just subconsciously turn off after that? If that was the case, I was going to feel really stupid. I felt like I had to test this right now.

"I'll be right back, Nabu, I'm going to go see if I'm an idiot or not," I called out to the golden helmet sitting on my kitchen table as I stepped out of the door real quick in my regular street clothes. I rocketed off into the air a couple of times over the speed of sound while willing my powers to keep my clothes from incinerating due to the air friction. Lo and behold, my clothes, which were made of cotton and should have absolutely turned to ash from those kinds of speeds, were absolutely fine. Subconsciously, I was just an idiot this whole time apparently… Well, now at least I learned I can keep my phone on me when I patrol in case I ever need to call for backup. I really need to get the phone numbers of all the other Heroes. I wonder how Bruce Wayne would feel if I just showed up outside his Mansion's Gates revealing that I knew his secret identity… he'd probably be pretty upset, but damn would it be funny… Now that I think about it, did Batman ever give back that piece of kryptonite he had? I don't think he did.

"..."

I returned to my home for the second time that evening and heard my phone ringing. Alice was on her 14th call to me. "Hello, Alice…" I said as I answered.

"IT'S ABOUT TIME!" She shouted from the other side of the line. "I've been trying to call you this whole time!"

"Yeah, I was out on patrol. Also, I found a way to take my phone with me from now on. So did you need something?"

"First of all, you and Flash are all over the TV again stopping that tornado, which was really cool by the way!" She said excitedly. "Secondly, that's awesome, and thirdly, I wanted to let you know that Esme's making dinner, and what's more, Angela is supposed to be coming as well. I feel kind of bad that she's our friend too, and we keep leaving her out of things…"

Flash and I were all over the TV? That seemed a bit odd. All we did was stop a tornado… Well, I guess that actually is a pretty big deal. Ever since becoming a superhero, my perception of what is and isn't a big deal has definitely shifted. I asked Alice more about that over the line, and I guess some brave fool in the small town decided to run out and record the entire thing. I'd have to watch that video later; it must have looked awesome from an outside perspective.

As for Alice feeling bad that we kept leaving Angela out of things… "Well, I mean, that's because Angela is a regular human…" I said, "I thought you guys didn't even want to associate with them?" I asked Alice.

She sounded a bit hesitant at first, but she still answered. "...it doesn't matter if she's just a regular human, it's still rude."

"If you say so, Alice."

"I do say so. And it was never that we didn't want to associate with them; it was just that we were scared of the repercussions. Something that shouldn't be a problem after this next year!" I heard her say smugly over the line. She had clearly seen something in the future that changed things quite a bit.

"After next year?" I asked. "Did you see something in the future?"

"Spoiling it would be boring, so I'll just let you find out on your own." She said cryptically with a somewhat smug tone. "...Anyway, come over now. Angela's supposed to be here soon," She ended the call.

I just slipped my phone into my pocket with a shrug before heading into the kitchen. "Come on, Nabu, we're going to a dinner party, I guess," I said as I picked up the helmet. I wasn't just going to leave him behind after all… that would be mean. The helmet flashed again for a second, not that I had any clue at all how to interpret that.

...

Since Angela already knew all about me, I didn't even bother driving to keep up appearances as I instead just flew over to the Cullen house. I really needed to get Esme to decorate my place because their home just looked so much nicer.

The front door of their beautiful house slammed open, and out stormed an irritated Rosalie. "There you are!" She huffed at me.

What had made her so worked up?

"Your house is really beautiful, Mrs. Cullen," I heard the voice of the new girl at school, Bella Swan, speaking from within the Cullen House. That was unexpected.

"Yeah! It really is super nice! Thank you so much for inviting us over, Alice!" Jessica spoke out next. She was here too? I heard Esme thanking them for the compliments and offering them a small tour of the house, which they both accepted.

"So, Bella and Jessica showed up too?" I asked the still irritated looking Rosalie. "Did Alice invite them too?"

"Not intentionally," she answered. "Apparently, all three of them were hanging out together after school when Angela was invited. She thought it would have been rude to just leave them behind," Rosalie explained. I, for one, thought it was a bit rude to invite guests over to someone else's house without asking first, but maybe that was just me. That could be perfectly normal in a small town like Forks.

"Although…" I spoke out loud, "I suppose I did bring an uninvited guest as well," I said, holding up the helmet that was resting in my arms towards Rosalie.

"Yeah, I noticed." Rosalie said while warily eyeing the helmet. She then asked me why I brought the thing in the first place. I just shrugged and told her I didn't want Nabu to get lonely. The helmet flashed for a second, and I didn't know whether that was from appreciation or indignation.

I followed Rosalie into the house, where it looked like Esme was finishing up her tour for the three human girls. "And this is Rosalie's garage, which connects right to the house," Esme explained.

"Rosalie's garage?" Jessica questioned. I could relate to her confusion; looking at Rosalie, you definitely wouldn't think she was a total gearhead.

"Hmpff…" was the only noise Rosalie made before she blew by Jessica and Bella and headed towards the kitchen. Esme followed after her.

Jessica watched them leave before turning towards me, eyes full of excitement, "Oh my gosh, this place is huge! And they have so much cool stuff! Did you see the garage? They had a Rolls-Royce in there, a real one! The car is probably worth more than my whole house!"

"Damn right, it is," I heard Rosalie mutter to herself in the kitchen. I figured that was probably her car…

"So you guys haven't tried any of Esme's cooking yet, have you? You're in for a real treat, I can tell you," I said, trying to make some small talk. The three girls all looked excited at that.

"And whose fault is that?" Angela said, giving me a fake glare, "Every time Alice has brought you lunch made for you by her mom, you haven't shared any of it." She finished with a pout. She isn't wrong about that at all; I have not shared, and nor will I ever.

"I'm so glad Alice invited us to come as well," Jessica said with glee, "Isn't that right, Bella?" I noticed Angela look away to the side, slightly guilty. Yeah,I'm sure Alice was surprised too when she found out soon she 'invited' Jessica and Bella as well…

Bella looked a bit uncertain at Jessica's remark, "That's right, I was also surprised that she invited us over so soon with Angela. I didn't even have a chance to talk to her or any of the other Cullens yet…" She had a bit of a nervous look on her face as she said that.

"Hmm, aren't you taking biology right after lunch, Bella? Edward and I are in that class too," I said to her.

Bella nodded at that, "Yeah, I am in that class, but you are skipping today, remember? You all ran off right during lunch."

Oh yeah, she was right…WAIT!

Bella and Edward had never had their first interaction yet. Uh-oh… She was supposed to be his blood singer. And now she was in the middle of his home, spreading her 'scent' everywhere…Well, this was going to be interesting to say the least.

"We're back!" I heard Emmett boisterously yell from outside. "Man, Rosalie, you should have seen the size of that bear that I took–" Emmett cut himself off when he stepped inside the house and noticed they had human guests. "I, um, hello everyone?"

"Hello, Emmett, Jasper, Edward, and Mr. Cullen," I addressed the four men of the family. They had all just stepped through the front door as well. They all seemed a bit taken aback at having so many guests at once. Clearly, Alice did not have time to warn them about the tag-a-longs.

"Whoa, this family is amazing. Even their dad is super hot," I heard Jessica whisper into Bella's ear. And so did every other vampire in the entire house…

Carlisle, meanwhile, just took it all in stride. I figured he'd been putting up with comments like that for 300 years at this point anyway. "Eh-em. Hello there, new faces. My name is Carlisle, and welcome to our home. I suppose Alice invited you for dinner tonight," he said with a strained smile. Maybe he wasn't looking forward to having to eat human food in front of guests again.

"You know," I whispered low enough for only them to hear and noticed that the four of them subtly turned to me, "now would be a great time to make the excuse that you guys ate while you were out, so you don't have to participate in dinner."

I noticed the four of them gave me a thankful look, and I figured they would do just that.

…Well, they would have, had what happened next not come to pass. I suppose it was inevitable. As the door shut behind them, the air in the room shifted, and Edward Inevitably ended up catching Bella's scent in the air. His posture immediately went rigid, and he completely changed from his usual aloof demeanor towards one of a predator. If one of the other men didn't stop Edward immediately I was going to have to step in unfortunately.

"Hey Jessica, do you mind holding this for me for a second?" I didn't give her the opportunity to refuse as I just shoved Nabu's helmet right in her arms.

"Cool helmet, where'd you get it?" Jessica said, inspecting it closely.

"Wait!" I heard Bella say in a surprised voice, "that helmet, it looks like–"

I didn't have time to answer either of them, unfortunately, as Edward's eyes had turned pitch black as he focused right on Bella and released a growl. What I wasn't expecting, however, was Jasper, who was standing right next to him, to also do the exact same thing, pitch-black eyes and all. I had completely forgotten that this guy was always piggybacking off of everyone else's emotions; that means he was completely feeling Edward's bloodlust right now as well!

Carlisle and Emmett immediately had shocked looks on their faces as they turned to the other two vampires to try and calm them down before any of the humans noticed what was going on. I think it might have been a little too late for that, though, as I could already hear Bella's heart start to race; she had clearly seen Edward's eyes change next to her. Angela was panicking as well. The only one who hadn't noticed yet was Jessica because she was too busy inspecting the helmet I just handed her.

"Come on, Edward, Jasper, you two aren't looking that well," Carlisle tried to play it off, "why don't we step outside for a bit and get some air?" Carlisle went to rest his hand on Jasper's shoulder to firmly lead him outside when, to my shock, Jasper ripped his hand off of him before grabbing the man and hurling him across the room and out of the nearby window! Edward, also in his bloodlust, punched Emmet right in the face before he turned to Bella and lunged right at her at vampire speed, growling fiercely.

Well, shit…

Time slowed down for me as it looked like I was about to step in and beat the crap out of the two vampires lost in their bloodlust. To my surprise, the air in front of us rippled, and Edward collided hard with an invisible shield that appeared right in front of us! He bounced off and was sent back fast, crashing right through the front door, taking the whole thing off its hinges with a loud crash!

"What the hell was that!?" I turned around, and to my surprise, Bella was holding her hands up in front of her like she was the one who just created that force field! Did she have superpowers? The girl herself didn't seem overly surprised at what she just did. She was definitely shaken, yes, after all, the vampire had just tried to kill her, but that shield, it looked like she just threw up, was definitely no surprise to her!

GROWL!

Oh, right, Jasper was still here as well. After a brief pause to observe Edward flying through the front door, he turned towards us again. Instead of lunging at Bella, though, he went for Angela and Jessica next to her! He wasn't as fast as Edward, but his whole demeanor came off as more terrifying as he zoomed in towards the two of them.

Faster than he could react, I had already placed myself in front of him with my fist cocked back. "Go cool the fuck off, Jasper!" I shouted as I slammed my fist right into his sternum. His torso physically cracked as the force of my punch sent him flying into the wall, crashing through it. The momentum carried him another hundred feet through the air, crashing into the woods, smashing a few trees in the process… I may have hit him a little harder than I intended there.

"What the hell is going on here!" I heard Jessica shriek out once the two vampires were dealt with. Alice, who was upstairs, ran down as quickly as she could, followed immediately by Rosalie and Esme, who were in the kitchen. The three female vampires just looked on at the destruction of their front door and the hole I just put in their wall– via flying Jasper…

I just looked at the three of them and then towards Angela, Jessica, and Bella as I just scratched my cheek awkwardly. "Yeah, some stuff happened… Edward tried to eat Bella, and then Jasper tried to eat Jessica and Angela." As I tried to explain, two of the human girls had looks of shock on their faces, while one of them, Bella, had a look of resignation. That was odd.

"What!" Jessica shrieked, interrupting my thoughts. "Why the hell did they want to eat us?"

"The Cullens had superpowers this entire time too?" I heard Angela question. "Why did they try to hurt us, though?" She was understandably upset.

"And don't think I didn't just see you punch Jasper farther than a football field, Kara!" Jessica exclaimed towards me. "Is he even still alive after that!?" I don't think I sent him flying that far…maybe only half a football field tops.

"Yeah, he's fine," Rosalie said bluntly. She just looked annoyed and completely done with this whole situation.

"Well, um… the thing is," I heard Alice start to explain.

"They're all vampires," it was surprisingly Bella who interrupted Alice. She knew!? Has she run into vampires before!?

Angela just had a resigned look on her face from the news; maybe she was just used to the weirdness at this point. Bella apparently already knew, Jessica, however, wasn't taking it too well.

I heard Jessica mumbling to herself, "...Vampires, of course… because the world wasn't weird enough. First, we had superheroes, which was awesome, then an alien invasion, which was less awesome, and now vampires are real too… What's next, werewolves and ghosts?"

"Those are also real," Rosalie once again said.

"Not the time, Rosalie," I whispered to her. "She's clearly in an existential crisis!" Rosalie just huffed at me before she turned and headed back towards the kitchen. Alice and Esme were looking at the three girls in concern, probably hoping they wouldn't be too afraid of them.

"Well, when she comes out of her crisis, she's probably still going to be hungry, so I'm going to go make sure the chicken doesn't burn," Rosalie said. I'm not sure if she was being thoughtful or she just wanted to check herself out of this whole situation…

"Wait, Jessica, don't put that on!" I heard Alice try and shout out before the entire room was engulfed in a golden light!

FLASH!

"Behold, Fate has arrived!" The voice of Nabu called out from the now female Doctor Fate standing in front of us. For some reason, I cannot explain, Jessica had put on the helmet in her panicked state…

"Holy shit!" I heard Bella exclaim, checking out Jessica's new superhero form. Angela was also staring at her friend gobsmacked.

"J-Jessica, what just happened to you?" Angela started out looking at her friend's new caped golden form.

"Fate has happened to her," I heard Nabu say in a somewhat female-sounding voice as he/she declared that proudly. I just facepalmed at the absolute clusterfuck that was happening right now in this house…

"Nabu…" I just let out a dry sigh. "What the fuck?"
