The sun had just begun to rise when Alina and Lizzy took their seats in their nearly empty classroom. Aside from the two of them, only a few other classmates were present. They had briefly discussed the previous day's events over the phone the night before, but their conversation was interrupted when Lizzy's mom called her to help with chores.
Lizzy broke the silence, her eyes narrowed with suspicion. "Do you believe what Evan said? I think he's hiding something."
Alina sighed, her expression just as troubled. "I don't know. I'm confused too, but I don't think Evan is lying. Sasha actually seems crazy."
"That's because you don't know Sasha like I do. There's nothing wrong with her; she just hides that side of her. That's why it's hard for you to understand," Lizzy said, her eyes spacing out for a minute as she subconsciously shrugged her shoulders, remembering something that freaked her out.
