I'm In Love With A Spirit

Cursing the dark, I decided to step out and find someone who could tell me what was going on. To my utter surprise, I realized I was in a hospital. ----------- “Don’t touch me, you freak. Nothing is happening to me. I am fine, I feel fine, and I am going to my room to rest,” I yelled and I started to reach out for the door-knob but I just couldn’t. I tried again, but my hand just passed through it. How? “What is happening to me?” I shouted, instantly freaking out. I tried catching it again but I could not touch it. I pushed the door but instead of pushing it, I passed through it and fell on the floor. He was immediately beside me, trying to help. Scared to death, I pushed him away and started to crawl backwards, hoping to get away from the scary man and also hoping to find something to rest my back on, but instead of finding something, I crossed the bars of a bed and was now almost in a drawer…I stood up shrieking and started to run everywhere in a haphazard manner when suddenly my eyes fell on a still figure on a hospital bed. Lying there was a lump of a woman. She was in the worst state possible, bruised everywhere and had a huge bandage on her head. Tubes stuck out from every orifice. She was breathing off a life support system… She was barely alive. She was me. ----------- A wonderful story of how the spirits of a guy and a girl met in hospital during an out-of-body experience.

Discharged From The Hospital

Next morning when I woke up it was just my mom and Zara in my room. The ghost did keep his word and had gone away. It was kind of a relief not seeing anything supernatural happening around me.

As he didn't show up, nothing weird scared me, jumping my heart or blood pressure up or down and the entire day passed without any accident. The doctor presumed it was the effect of the new drug he gave me; he was wrong but it didn't matter to me, for his words were great comfort to my loved ones.

They both were so happy and relieved listening to that; the news brought a million-dollar expression on their faces.

Next day he didn't show up again. Honestly, I was kind of missing him, but I had just come out of a coma, weird things could have happened to my brain, right? I ignored him completely and focused on recovering.

The hospital was making me really edgy. I wanted to leave but the doctors insisted to keep me under observation for few more days, as per them I was in a very delicate situation right now. Mom and Zara couldn't agree less.

Despite all my tantrums, I had to stay the entire week in the hospital. I was so fine by end of week that I could have easily played cricket or football and would not have fallen.

Finally, I was discharged to go back home and after another tussle with my mom over the living arrangements, I was allowed to resume work immediately.

My mother lived far away from my workplace, so I'd rented an apartment right next to Zara's home. Since Zara and I were in the same company, that meant she could keep an eye on me 24x7, and my mother finally reluctantly agreed.

We all left the hospital together and my mum dropped me till my apartment.

"Zara you can go back to your apartment now, you need some rest plus you have a family too," I commented as she followed me into my apartment.

"Hey, I am not leaving your side," she replied stubbornly.

"I am fine, babe. You take some rest. Plus, I am going for a long, long bath. I haven't had a proper shower since I don't know when," I replied animatedly as a joke but I did mean the shower thing.

"Yeah right, but don't lock your bedroom door or bathroom," her words made my jaw-drop, but before I could speak, she explained. "It's not that I will sneak-in on you while you are bathing, honey I love you, but my love has some limits," she winked. "It's just a precautionary measure."

"Yeah. Fine."

I knew there was no arguing with that and there was no point in explaining why I was having those panic attacks; the ghost was gone now.

After reiterating multiple times that I was fine, she left.
