A moment ago they had quite a bit of a battle, because Trinia was nervous to jump in a dark hole.
She didn't necessarily cry or throw tantrums, but still gave a few excuses regarding why she couldn't come down there.
Examples featured the possibility of spiders lurking down there, but the prime fear surrounded darkness; the tiny lady was not a fan of it.
She even called the hole too dirty just to avoid this darned hole.
Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to bring a child down to a dungeon, but Steve felt more relaxed to have her close by.
Sure they could leave her behind, so she could reside in this Inn for a little while, but that too seemed like a dangerous idea.
She was just a child who could get lost quite easily, and the workers in this building wouldn't care to look after her either.
So the best idea was to tag her along.
An abandoned dungeon's worst threat would be a collapse anyway, and this structure had held steady for two-hundred years already.
So Trinia was undoubtedly safer down here than anywhere else.
"Well this place is... dark." Steve pointed out the obvious once they figured the first problem out.
"What was your first clue?" The shortest man from the other side of the team, followed along.
Sass was evident in his tone, but neither of them wanted to start a petty fight either.
Besides, these men seemed well prepared already. A couple of them sparked some flint against one of their blades too.
Before their actions could have been fully captured by the naked eye, a decent bit of fire lit up and illuminated the place.
It became apparent that these men had brought torches along, which would explain their heavy backpacks.
Afterwards, the two-foot long torches were handed out between the whole group of frogs. So now they could get a better glimpse of this area.
Everything around them seemed quite... dead. That would be the best way to describe the scene.
This place had been sealed off for over two-hundred years already, so obviously no one had put in any effort to maintain this place.
Thanks to that irritant fact, this dungeon's grey walls were halfly coated with green, wet moss. That and hints of bubbly fungus could be seen too.
The smell wasn't easy on the conscious either, as the odour was especially strong since this place had been sealed up tight!
However, at the moment they were in some snug stone corridor, which had a rounded ceiling.
Although it seemed slightly pretty, most had to duck their heads just to avoid the wet moss above them.
So it was fair to say that they slightly rushed forward, and hoped to run into a wider place where they could breathe a little bit better.
Their wish was granted almost instantly. As they walked right into a new room, which wasn't exactly massive but had a ceiling higher above their heads.
And judging from the few rusty swords that were scattered across the other side, this place had likely been a guard's room.
This detail helped make sense out of the place. So they assume that the prison cells were just across the other route that they spotted.
So as the rest made their way towards that very route, Steve was tempted to pick up one of these rusty swords.
Every man had one of them right now, so it almost felt like a disadvantage for the young man to lack one.
"I wouldn't touch that," The tall leader instantly advised.
"I need a sword man. Common, we're in a dam dungeon." The younger frog insisted.
At the same time he was practically ankle deep in some smelly puddle, which in exchange gave out quite a desperate view.
It wasn't pleasing to see someone get their hands this dirty, just to get a rusty sword.
After a rough sigh the tall man asserted, "At least grab that sword over there. It looks better and cleaner."
And then the same man expressed, "I don't want to catch any diseases because of your poor ass."
"Fair enough," Steve mumbled.
Afterwards he jumped out of the puddle, and grabbed that same sword he was advised to handle.
This piece of metal indeed seemed better, so it was noticeable that the other frog had quite some heightened senses.
And contrary to the slightly curled swords that most of the team carried, the one on the young man's hand was quite straight.
It was likely forged out of solid iron, and it had just a few dots of rust on its bottom sharp portions.
The weaponry itself was shaped like a stretched-out triangle, but that feature could come in handy for him who never handled a sword before.
So with a hint of joy, Steve slightly tightened the short-sword around his grip, and tip toed towards the group.
He didn't plan to be hostile whatsoever. But if the other side of the team had any funny ideas, at least he could prove troublesome.
The team went through what seemed to be the prison cells. But it took one glance to figure out that no treasure would be hidden around here.
This place was too snug, specifically since there was one corridor that pierced through twenty cells. So the team felt confident to move forward.
Strong odours were present in these cells too. And a little bit of exploration helped them figure out that there were a few damaged skeletons laying around, who gave out the scent.
For whatever reason, the architects had sealed some frogs down here along with the rest of the dungeon.
The skeletons almost seemed human-like, apart from the skull which was abnormally round. That and the ribcage was bigger in comparison.
But overall, this was an interesting detail that neither of the group wanted to see again.
Steve couldn't comprehend why those corpses had been left to rot down here, but then he remembered that this whole country was barbaric.
So he simply brushed this scene off and followed the group until they reached out of this cell-room.
Yet before he could even comprehend the figures of these men in front of him, he heard a horrid shout which reverberated across the entire structure!
The reason behind that panic was simply difficult to figure out, but the young man did not want to be clumsy about it either!
So within a blink of an eye he dashed towards the group, and swiftly grabbed Trinia around her arm!
In an instant he pulled the little lady back towards the cells, and his eyes raged to find the reason behind all that ruckus!
Through that moment he noticed a few swords which flung across the air, as the torches on those men's hands helped reflect a bit of its metal!
His best guess now was that Altima had finally snapped and attacked these debt-collectors. Her overly righteous senses would help make sense out of that.
But he swiftly realised that the fine lady was not the cause behind all that horror.
Simply because his eyes captured an odd, one-foot wide creature which darted across the prison's corridors at top speed!
Steve tried to push his sister aside, as he wanted to face this darn enemy, even though he was close to shitting his dark pants!
But Trinia insisted otherwise!
She broke loose from her brother's caring grip, and flung her arms a couple of times for whatever reason.
Before her gestures could have been fully comprehended, a stroke of light generated out of thin air!
This light was almost plate-shaped, but proved itself quite thinner in comparison.
And this same, foot wide circle had many red coloured tiny triangles, which surrounded its out-skirted edges.
As for the circle's body itself, its shade was dark purple which gave out a slightly violent aura!
Apart from that, several red lines crossed that purple light's body, which added quite a beautiful pattern-encouraged texture.
And before the naked eye could fully grasp what was going on, this same light bashed against the charging enemy!
Since size differences were practically non-existent, the same flying opponent had been flung backwards, all thanks to the little lady's attack!
And a second after, they could see quite a bit of blue slime which blew up in a one-meter wide radius!
Just then these siblings locked eyes with one of the other men, who for some reason had dashed towards the same corridor of the prison cells.
At that moment the spooked man shouted, "The little one is a witch!"
