Chapter 35: Sister

Jade's POV: I woke up and got out of bed without Charles waking up. I hate that he's staying here right now, things would be a lot easier if Ariana could just stay here. But no, Charles HAS to stay at my house like the loving boyfriend he is! Oh my god, what am I even saying? I'm complaining because my boyfriend loves me? Wow. That's shallow. I just need to stop worrying and focus on what excuses I'll have to come up with in order to see Ariana, I've sealed her coffin up so that non of their sibling could get in and find out she's awake. Anyway, I put on a pair of ankle boots with a a pair of jeans and a pink shirt. I looked like every basic bitch on this planet, oh well, I don't really have anything else to wear! I went downstairs and ate some breakfast, then I was greeted with a kiss on the cheek by Charles who said, "Good morning darling. How are you holding up?" "I'm fine, no needed to worry about me. I'll live!" I answered. Charles tilted his head and said, "Well I'm not sure if you'll live, you did kill yourself so..." I rolled my eyes playfully and replied, "Whatever you say Charles. Oh! I'm not going to be home today, I have some errands I need to run in town. But I'll see you tonight okay?" Charles gave me a strange, suspicious look and said, "Alright. Just be careful, I love you." "I love you too." I smiled and kissed him once before leaving the house. I drove over to Ashtons house, he said we could be there today since his parents were out for awhile. I walked in and found Ariana laughing with Ashton on the couch so I said, "Don't mind me. Just creepin in here." Ashton stood up and said, "I didn't think you'd be here for a little longer!" I laughed and replied, "I came early, sorry if I was interrupting something. You two looked cozy." We all laughed and I joined them on the couch. I asked Ariana, "So we already discussed the plan, but the reason I wanted to talk today was because I have some questions about you and your family that are really confusing me." Ariana furrowed her brows innocently and said, "What's on your mind?" I quickly responded, "Well, I understand that when Nathan puts you to sleep he stabs you in the heart with like a mini sword looking thing. But when a vampire desiccates it's because their body hasn't had any blood. Why didn't anyone just give you blood and wake you up?" Ariana took a deep breath and answered, "My family knew I was out of control. I had my humanity switch flipped, no emotions, no cares. I killed and was very reckless back then. According to you, Shania out me down with a spell, well that spell must've made my family unable to wake me with blood, the spell had to be done too, and as you said it was locked away in secret. So they couldn't simply just give me blood and everything would be okay, and anyway, my family didn't want me to be awake I guarantee! They all wanted to put me down, but I'd keep my distance from them, they couldn't control me!" I nodded my head and asked, "Do you have your humanity now?" "No," Ariana started, "I just got myself under control while I was sleeping." I find that quite fascinating that vampires are aware of when they're desiccated and asleep! That's pretty cool. I shook the thoughts from my head and asked, "Why do you want your own brother dead as much as I do?" Ariana smiled and replied, "My brother is a dick. He takes what he wants when he wants it, no matter who gets hurt or killed in the process. I don't have a problem with that, but I don't like that whenever he gets that way my siblings and I are always the ones who end up suffering for no reason. I just want my revenge on him. But why do you hate Nathaniel?" I fake smiled and answered, "I'm an Eddington. We're a rare type of witch, you're informed of the ritual your brother was so eager to perform...well since I was the key he sort of killed me. He drained the blood from my body nearly a month ago in order to gain extra power, then Elizabeth brought me back to life. I've been a little out of and not myself since then!" Ariana looked sad for me. I shook my head and said, "Moving on. I have a very mind-boggling question...Charles said to me in Prague that you were being kept in a box for 2,900 years, but I know that's not true obviously since you were put down in the 1900's, so who's lying in that unmarked coffin in the very corner of your families basement?" Arianas eyes grew wide with shock and fear when she said, "How did you see that? Elizabeth spell that coffin so only she could see it!" I smiled and said, "Like I said, I'm a very special type of witch, I can see and hear things that everyone else can't, including that coffin. I was going to open it, but I figured whomever was in it was there for a reason. But please, do tell who?" Ariana gave in very easily and answered, "The person laying in that coffin is my sister...Nora Lee."
