Chapter - 2

Li Biyu could feel her heart racing. After she was pushed into a dark room, she was cornered and trapped between the door and the human wall. She could smell the same alcohol stench coming from the man before. She was seething with anger. She quickly analysed the dire situation she was in.

Meanwhile the drunk man, the one who bothered her earlier, was trying to touch her inappropriately. She knew she had to act fast. She screamed to her loudest but it was blocked by the man's hand. Realizing it was useless to scream she quickly searched the room for CCTV, but found none. After ensuring there was no CCTV, she internally smirked.

Earlier at the award ceremony she had heard various bees buzzing but still kept her calm. Now she can release all her pent-up frustrations from tonight.

She kneed the man's shin with full force. As his grip on her loosened, she quickly grabbed his hands and twisted it. Now the dynamics inside the dark room has changed. The man was trapped between the door and the human wall, Li Biyu.

"You have chosen the wrong day to mess with me. My hands were itching badly today and now you have served yourself on silver platter. How can I refuse it?" With that Li Biyu rained down heavy punches on him.

Within a few minutes the man was lying unconscious on the floor. Satisfied with the end result, Li Biyu hurriedly left the room to search for Bai Xiao.

When she reached their table, she saw an unfamiliar face sitting opposite Bai Xiao. At this moment the back ground noise faded and there was eerie silence at the table.

As she stood beside Bai Xiao, she froze seeing the person sitting across her. It was none other than the demon, Bai Xian.

There was only one person in the whole Bai family whom Bai Xiao feared. It was her older cousin brother from her father's side, Bai Xian. Not only her most of the members of Bai family feared him. From young age he was like a block of ice, who rarely interacted with others. Despite having cold personality, he single handedly managed the Bai corporation. When Bai Xian parents passed away in a car accident and Bai Xiao's father Bai Zhong went missing during his overseas visit, the 18 years old Bai Xian took control of Bai corporation by himself. At that time there were many internal and external disturbances surrounding Bai family.

When Bai Xiao's father flew back to China after going missing for one whole week, the situation had calmed down. Till then to now, Bai Xian had been in full charge of the company with Bai Zhong.

Other than that, he had another identity that only a few people knew, he was also known as Jasper, the song composer who creates the most heartbreaking songs. Even his own family was not aware of his other identity.

As Li Biyu stood like a statue in front of Bai Xian, she could not help but shiver a little from fear. Afterall she had only heard a bit about him from Bai Xiao. She internally cursed herself to agreeing to come here for party tonight.

As she was lost in her own world, she missed Bai Xian's gesture telling her to sit. She felt slight tug from her side which made her come back to senses. She threw a questioning glance at Bai Xiao who was continuously tugging her to sit.

"It seems like your friend doesn't want to sit." A deep cold voice was heard which poured a bucket of cold water on Li Biyu and he immediately woke her up from reverie.

She hurriedly sat down at the vacant seat besides Bai Xiao. In the middle of summer, she could feel cold Antarctic winds blowing towards her from across.

Despite being curious she refrained from asking about Bai Xian's presence.

"Li Biyu won Best Singer Award today. So, we just came to celebrate. We were planning to go back home after Li Biyu comes from the restroom." Understanding the situation Bai Xiao hurriedly explained about their plans to Bai Xian.

"Hm…I know. I will drive you back home." Bai Xian replied coldly.

After hearing his reply both girls were left confused. 'What did he know that Li Biyu won the Best Singer Award or they were going to party at The Blue Moon club?' The former was rather impossible to believe because everyone knew that Bai Xian was not interested in Entertainment industry. Even though Bai Xiao was an actress he never once helped or interfered in her matters. And it was bizarre for the later one.

Shrugging their thoughts both of them exchanged a glance and followed Bai Xian to the parking lot. During their short journey no one even dared to look towards the two beauties, all because of one person, who was walking in front of them with a frosty look on his face.

They quickly reached the parking lot. Instead of going towards their car which was parked nearby they followed Bai Xian further. He stopped near a black Rolls Royce Cullinan and unlocked it. He gestured us to sit inside the car. We both sat in the backseat. He sat in the driver's seat.

"Where to?" his cold voice once again startled the girls. I was going to say to my apartment when Bai Xiao spoke "To my house". We had previously decided to go to my apartment after the party but I guess I was staying at Bai Xiao's tonight.

She clasped my hand, signaling me to agree. I nodded my head rigidly. Then the silence resumed in the car as we all were in our own thoughts. I was still feeling bit uneasy.

Sensing my discomfort Bai Xiao engaged me in small talks. We were talking about random topics, when Bai Xiao suddenly asked "What took you so long earlier when you went to the restroom?" hearing this question I suddenly froze up.

Suddenly the atmosphere in the car shifted back to its previous state, cold and awkward silence.

Breaking the silence, I replied in soft voice, "it was little crowded so it took some time."

Hearing my stiff response Bai Xiao nodded in understanding manner and swiftly changed the topic. If it were only the girls, it would have been less troublesome but how can anyone forget the presence of demon brother. Earlier he had ignored their random talk but sensing the change in atmosphere when Bai Xiao asked the question, Bai Xian eyes narrowed. There was something else to it and he made a mental note to check it.

The rest of the ride was pretty normal. It was only slightly uncomfortable for Li Biyu as she had first encounter with the demon, but thankfully Bai Xiao made her at ease. As the trio reached Bai Xiao's home, Bai Xian dropped them off and went back in context of work.

When both Li Biyu and Bai Xiao were ready to go to bed it was already 1 o'clock. After a hectic day, Bai Xiao soon drifted to sleep.

As Li Biyu was lying on the bed, she recalled her whole day. So much happened in just a short span of time. She finally achieved her goal. It made her happy but sorrowful at the same time. She secretly wished how good it had been if her parents could have seen her receiving the award. She was missing them dearly. While remembering their sweet memories she soon drifted to dreamland.

While she was deep in sleep, she still was unaware of the storm brewing outside.
