HxH: another kind of Zoldyck

Synopsis: A fan of manga and anime was extremely unlucky in his life and ended up dying by suicide. Fortunately, Death itself came to repair the injustice he had suffered and reincarnated him in another world with a wish limited to that specific world. Author's Note: I do not own HxH, and the cover of this story is not mine. The protagonist will not be a psychopathic madman who kills indiscriminately, but a rational and sometimes selfish individual in his decisions.

Chapter 02: My New Family is Really Strange

POV of Kira Zoldyck (formerly Thomas Park)

"Yes, I know I'm a bit greedy, but my request doesn't exceed the limits imposed on you, right?" I said, looking towards the dark hood.

"Yes indeed, but know that there will be many limitations imposed on you depending on the world you choose," he explained calmly.

"Now please describe the worlds in which you wish to reincarnate," urged Death in a slightly rushed tone.

Several fictional universes came to my mind, but I set my sights on one particular world.

"I want you to reincarnate me in the Hunter X Hunter universe and if possible as Killua's twin brother," I said, hoping not to be too greedy once again.

"You are normally only allowed to choose the world, but I will accept that you choose this particular family," he declared before raising his arms in the air.

"Go, young soul, and enjoy your new existence," he said aloud.

At these words, the inactive magic circles around us began to glow with a blinding light.

5 years later...

Somewhere on Mount Kukuroo, a child could be seen walking alone in the woods.

"This place is really incredible," I said, lying on the grassy ground.

Since I was reborn into this life, I've experienced a tremendous amount of things.

I've gone through trainings that could be considered hellish, I have a brother who adores me and it's mutual.

"I'm really happy," I muttered, looking at the sky.

"Unfortunately, I'm still caged at the moment," I thought, sighing before getting up to leave my little resting nook.

Nothing is really out of father's surveillance in this place, it's unpleasant to be watched 24/7 but I'm used to it currently.

"Hello, young master Kira," said Canary.

I simply nodded in greeting.

It's not that I'm not interested in her, but for both our sakes, our friendship cannot develop in the Zoldyck residence.

I've also kept Killua away from Canary, I want to keep her under my personal control.

After all, Killua abandoned her for "his friends", so I'm doing them both a favor, right?

After a few long minutes of running in this immense residence, I finally arrive home.

Upon my arrival, I went straight to mother to further improve my relationship with her and hopefully convince her to finally teach me Nen.

"My dear, I haven't seen you all morning. Did you have your usual training with your grandfather?" Kikyo asked directly after seeing me enter her room.

I was about to try to explain myself, but mother didn't listen and reacted faster than my mouth.

She raised her hand at lightning speed, with the pure intention to kill, but I was already used to it and I was able to raise my guard fast enough to protect my face.

*Noise* Sound of the destroyed door.

"My dear, why did you force mother to be so severe with you, sniff sniff," she said in tears, checking my arms.

Although I was able to block her blow, I'm bleeding from my arm and I'm sure she held back a lot in that attack.

I really need to train more. Even though I'm sure I'm stronger than Killua, I want to be stronger than that.

"I'm so proud of you, my little Kira," his mother said, crying false tears of joy after putting bandages on my arms.

"I'm happy that mom is happy," I simply said with a small smile, I was already used to her eccentric personality.

"Tell me, my little Kira, why didn't you go to your morning training? Your grandfather was extremely disappointed to learn of your absence," her mother spoke to her calmly this time, as if her false tears had been but an illusion.

"I wanted to rest for once," I simply replied, although I admit to being slightly sad at having disappointed grandfather. "I wanted, as usual, to try to unlock my Nen by myself.

Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. I think I really need a master."

At first, I approached Zeno with ulterior motives, but the more I started to hang out with him, the more I started to appreciate my time with the old man.

I even involuntarily started to adopt his philosophy of things concerning our work.

"Indeed, Kira's grandfather tends to be extremely severe with him," Kikyo thought, frowning her beautiful eyebrows.

"Okay, I understand, and I will explain the situation to your father to prevent you from being punished for your little break ," Kikyo explained, touching her chin after her reflection.

"But I suppose you're not just here for my help with him, are you?" she asked.

"Do I really need a reason to be with my pretty little mom?" I said, acting foolish and jumping into her arms to hug her.

At first, I pretended to behave spoiled kid with her, but I admit that currently I'm a little sincere with Kikyo.

It's not simply to get Nen training but also because I appreciate Kikyo as a mother.

Something I lost early in my life as Thomas Park.

...

Unknown POV

In a dimly lit room, a man could be seen with long silvery blond hair and eyes similar to those of a deep blue cat.

He seemed to be meditating or thinking about something, but unfortunately for him, his meditation session was interrupted by a noise at the door.

"You may enter," he said calmly, staring at the door with piercing blue eyes.

A woman entered the dimly lit room with quick steps and stopped right in front of the man.

A woman entered the dimly lit room with quick steps and stopped right in front of the man.

"If you are here at this hour, it means there is something to report?" Silva Zoldyck asked his wife standing before him.

Kikyo simply nodded before opening her mouth to speak: "Yes, I think our son, Kira, has recently undergone too much training with your father and I wonder if he can be exempted from it today," Kikyo asked.

"I understand that he is your favorite along with little Kalluto, but he is a Zoldyck and for now, Kira has shown abilities inferior to his twin brother," Silva said in a definitive tone.

"I see, but I will be the one to punish him," she declared before turning to leave.

She clearly left no room for negotiation with Silva.

"Do I really count so little for you," declared a voice that came out of nowhere.

It was Zeno Zoldyck, the former head of the family but also Kira Zoldyck's grandfather.

"Kira's tutelage is under my responsibility. I understand that you appreciate this kid, but his training has been progressing extremely well recently and this delay is disturbing for me," Zeno declared, walking towards Kikyo with a slow but steady gait.

"I understand, but just this once since after all Kira is a good boy," Kikyo politely asked.

Zeno sighed but nodded to show his approval.

"You have rarely complimented someone's progress," Silva suddenly declared to Zeno.

"Yes, Kira is very hardworking despite his overall talent being inferior to Killua's, but I can say that he will be very powerful," Zeno replied, heading towards the exit of the room.

"His strong point is not his talent, Silva, but his unique mind," Zeno thought, stroking his beard as he remembered the ideas for strange but promising techniques from his grandson.

"I wish we could have worked together on that Soru from last time," he said with a sigh.
