Intruders

As the time continued to flow, exhaustion soon appeared on the two intruders. This was a scene that will shock anyone who sees it.

A mere unranked kid was facing against an Adult Ranker and Infant Ranker without breaking a single sweat and was simply toying with them. What kind of monster was this kid?

The lean man conjured an AOE spell that caused the area around Arthur to turn into a swamp-like area slowing down his speed. "I got ya now, kid! Now die!" The robust man gripped his machete and swiped at Arthur but the latter simply dodged.

Although the spell slowed him down, his speed was still too fast for both of them to hit. There were only 4 more hours until the deadline.

As the fight continued, Arthur simply kept improving his illusion as it solidified. He was so near to a breakthrough that he merely needed just an hour of combat to fully understand the technique. Regardless of his progress, Arthur had to be sure whether he was doing it correctly so he reached for the scroll he had on his person as began to read it.

This act took the intruders by surprise as they used this opportunity to strike once again. "Looking away from battle? Hehehe! You are seeking death ya brat!"

Arthur simply stood in front of the intruders as the illusion faded away. Without hesitation, the lean man conjured a sealing spell as the robust man used a technique to increase his stats by a degree simultaneously.

"I see..." Arthur put away the scroll and simply left an afterimage that the robust man struck. The latter was in a berserk mode as his stats increased but only within a limited amount of time. He needed to end it quickly as it will not last long.

After skimming through the text, Arthur understood that he now needed his figure to hold a physical appearance for 30 seconds to be considered as the first stage of the technique. Right now, Arthur's Whispering Wisp Technique could only appear 17 seconds at a time, a little more than half of what he needed.

Removing all unnecessary thoughts from his mind to concentrate on the task on hand, Arthur put all of his attention right now on stabilizing his illusion. Once Arthur manages to create an illusion that can last 30 seconds will allow him to breakthrough and will be able to proceed to the next stage of the technique.

"Just 3 more hours until the deadline I can do this!" Arthur thought to himself while grinning. He felt no remorse from the people in front of him because their goal initially was to steal from Joseph's house, feeling indebted to Joseph, Arthur needed to repay his kindness.

The robust man's gaze looked coldly at Arthur, "Even if you are equal in terms of strength with me doesn't mean you could handle us at the same time so that must mean that you are using an advanced technique." The lean man shivered at his friend's words.

"So what?" Arthur indifferently gazed back at them.

"I knew it! I am guessing that it is at least a Spiritual Technique. Quite a fortune you got there, brat! Then that must mean that you are exerting much more energy than us since you are young and couldn't have possibly understood it yet!" A wicked grin appeared on the robust man's face.

Since the kid in front of him has a Spiritual Technique he would be extremely rich if he sold it. Learning this, he now didn't care whatever the cost, as long as he manages to get his hands on the technique then it would make him extremely rich.

Spiritual Techniques are different from Mortal Techniques, both in power and cost, the difference between these two is the difference between night and day. Every single technique that Arthur had seen up to this point were all Mortal Techniques except Ken's Whispering Wisp Technique which was a Spiritual Technique.

If one were to sell a Mortal Technique then they will get at least 10 Iron Coins and can possibly range up to 100 Gold Coins depending on how useful that technique was. For example, if Rock Hardening Technique costs 50 Silver Coins, Heal would then cost 40 Gold Coins due to the ability of the technique.

These were all expensive, however, Spiritual Techniques were worlds apart from Mortal Techniques in terms of cost. The cheapest Spiritual Techniques costs 1 Crystal and its price could rise up to a Mid - Crystal, which is 100 Crystals.

Greed already succumbed the robust man's eyes as he no longer cared about his own life and used a... sacrificial technique.

"Demon's Embrace"

Maniacal laughter could be heard as the robust man was enveloped by darkness and his arms bulging with veins looking as if any moment it would burst out. He grew pitch black horns and a reddish tint appeared on his skin, he was no longer human. The lean man beside him cowered in fear as he knew what was the cost for activating this technique.

What was needed for activating this technique was the sacrifice of another life and that other life just also seemed to be the lean man himself. The robust man now looking like a demon pinned down the lean man and soon the latter's life force was sucked out and was used as fuel for the robust man's transformation.

If one were to look at this monster's stats then this monster would have 1000 points in everything. A demonic aura full of bloodlust and pure evil surrounded the vicinity, the animals that were previously nearby, ran as if their lives depended on it and Arthur simply looked at the monster in front of him with uncertainty.

"Guess from it went from easy to hard, huh?" Arthur backed off trying to gauge the abilities of the enemy in front of him.

Arthur confronted the devilish looking man with his full concentration rather than taking it easy just like he was before. The sudden change was alarming as he felt that the monster in front of him might even be stronger than Joseph.

Using a fragment of the Whispering Wisp Technique, an illusion was created that was more solid than ever. Facing off against the monstrosity in front of him, he had no choice but to go all out.

Arthur stealthily dashed behind the demon and using unleashed his full combo.

"Rock Hardening Technique"

"Full Strike"

"Wisp Technique"

With all these techniques and striking at the demon's neck, Arthur's hand collided with the thick skin of the demon and a small shockwave was created due to the force exerted by Arthur and the defense of the demon.

The power that Arthur displayed could rival a peak Adult Ranker's attack. The demon, however, was unfazed even though that much power was used on one of the vital points of his body.

"Kekekeke! That just tickles! Now you've revealed yourself it's time to die!" A demon snickered as he immediately attacked Arthur backed unfazed.

Arthur nimbly left an afterimage and an illusion to distract the demon from him. After retreating a safe distance, "Even though it is as strong as Sir Joseph stats wise, its maneuvering sucks. I guess it still doesn't understand how to use its power properly."

With this thought in mind, Arthur was no longer afraid of the monstrosity in front of him. It was the same as a muscle builder against a fat man, even though both have the same mass their abilities are worlds apart.

Even though Arthur was 4 ranks weaker than the demon, he was only 2 ranks weaker in terms of stats. From this, he now stood a chance against the demon.

Arthur now no longer used brute force against the demon but instead speed. Turning the majority of his power into speed he struck the demon once again at its neck.

"Brat! It's useless! Hmph!" The demon was confident with its defensive capabilities because it could take Joseph's full attack head on and not suffer damage at all. However, no matter how strong something is, attack enough times and it will weaken, this was Arthur goal.

Using Whispering Wisp Technique to constantly confuse the demon into attacking it, Arthur simultaneously attacked its neck, wearing it down considerably.

After a long battle and only have an hour before the deadline, Arthur's growth was even more monstrous than the demon in front of him. His mastery in the Whispering Wisp Technique had finally broken through the first stage and he could fully utilize its effects now without much issue.

At this point, the demon's neck looked so beaten that it was swollen all over from Arthur's constant attacks. His reflex practice helped him dodge a few attacks that didn't confuse the demon.

"Full Strike"

With one last hit, the demon's head was cut off from its body. Blood gushing everywhere, the skies darkened as an evil force from the demon's body was entered the skies and the body of the demon returned to the body of the robust man.

In the entire battle, Arthur did not suffer a single injury. Just what unranked person could kill someone 4 ranks above them and remain unharmed? There was no one else other than Arthur in the entire history of the 6 Realms.

Truly, the rise of a Deity, the Human Deity.
