he didn't believe that they would easily give up on something like this.
Yuri suddenly recalled a few memories of his father, and he found himself reminiscing about how his father had often beaten him whenever he had failed a test, although it hadn't happened very often lately. He still remembered quite clearly that one time when he had forgotten his homework during his lessons, and instead his father had hit him so much with his ruler that he had blacked out immediately afterwards. He remembered quite vividly how his father had told him that he had been punished for failing yet again when his father had come to visit that afternoon. He couldn' t remember ever actually getting punished for such things before, especially not when he had failed so miserably; however, he supposed that that was probably normal behavior when dealing with a failure as weak as himself.
At this point, Yuri wasn't sure what else he could do, as he was afraid of making it worse by trying to convince his father to stop what he had planned. In fact, he was beginning to realize that he couldn't persuade his father, no matter what he said, to reconsider. He knew that he had no choice but to just follow the rules. Even if they were wrong and he ended up being punished later, it was the best thing he could do for now. His father would have to understand eventually.
When Yuri had returned from thinking to himself that he would have to follow his father's orders, he was shocked to discover Victor staring at him with concern written all over his face.
"What's wrong, Vitya?" he asked confused. He wasn't aware that he'd said anything odd.
"Do you want me to carry you to your room?" he asked gently. Yuri shook his head rapidly and answered, "No no, I'll take care of it!"
Victor raised an eyebrow but nodded nonetheless. "Alright, I hope you'll be alright.
