"And finally it's time for your wand, therefore we are going to Carpin Carpenders" Liu laughed.
"Finally!".
Unlike the long walk to the ring store or the medium distance from the accessories store or even the apparition to the horse stable, the wand store was only two doors down from where they entered this place.
The wand shop itself was the grandest, tallest, and biggest one yet, being easily 20 or so stories tall, with a golden top sitting upon white, polished and clean stones a human tall and wide. And like the bookstore, it was incredibly jarring as well as the insides were more of a rectangle that expanded for what looks like forever even beyond the curvature of the earth.
"How is this possible?" Zhāng questioned "Shouldn't there be a limit to this… Spatial magic".
"Yes there is a limit, a gateway is not that limit," an old man to the right said while inspecting a wand resting in a box, when he was done he put the box back on the stack of other boxes.
The inside of the store was filled with giant shelves holding hundreds of stacked boxes, each shelf extended to the ceiling which itself was barely visible, and there was a five-ish meter gap between each shelf for as long as was visible.
"So, are you here for your own wand or the kid's wand?".
"My Sons".
"Alright, his height is about 174 cm, for a 12-year-old that's not bad" He complimented "What's his wand arm".
"Right".
"Alrighty," he said "Accio".
In an instant, a giant ladder that was bending under its own weight came flying along the track grooved into the floor in the middle of the five-meter gap. Once the ladder snapped into his hands he climbed about halfway and pulled out a box from the middle of the stack.
"12 inches, rigid, phoenix feather core with applewood," he remarked while handing the wand to Zhāng "Give it a wave down the main aisle".
Nothing.
"Not for you huh?" he said while walking to the other side, looking up while spinning in a circle he found what he was looking for he grabbed onto the conveniently placed ladder also bending under its own weight, and kicked off the ground, which propelled him down the aisle and then he stopped as quickly as he left, grabbing three boxes he kicked the ground in the opposite manner making him and the ladder fly backward.
"Alright 13 inch, flexible, American thunderbird blood core, aspen wood".
This time the wand simply split down the middle with all of the wood curling.
"Ok, definitely not for you," The old man said looking surprised while also throwing the remaining two boxes behind him of which they both flew back into the place where the old man found them.
Walking down the main aisle the two of them began to wonder how long this place was, considering they have been walking for twenty-ish minutes yet the building still extends further than they could see, eventually they made it to an opening in the shelves, they still could be seen around the opening but none where in the opening, of which only a few hundred long wooden staves could be seen on racks.
"Try this one," The old man said at a distance they don't remember him walking in mere seconds "its 150 cm, full dragon heart core, Cherry wood".
"Put your right hand on about the 3/4ths mark while the other hand on the ⅓ mark, instead of a wave raise your left hand and push your right hand down" He instructed while on the side.
Zhāng performed the motion once as a 'test' motion while looking at the old man for confirmation he then did the motion as tested and instructed and a brilliant blue arrow a human arm thick and a human length long shot out of the tip and flew fast enough for all three of them to see a mere blur once the arrow curved out of sight a giant tremor made dust on most of the wands trickle down.
"My god, you have to be the most talented person I've ever seen any other first-year would have collapsed from the consumption of that," the old man said while holding his hat due to the wind, the old man quickly regained his composure and walked to another part of the Staves section, then it was heard.
A faint sound of wood hitting the stone floor.
Looking to the right, Zhāng found a stave on the floor about his height. It had two braces, one black and one white, both of them were so cracked that they looked like shattered glass. The black brace was on the section that was a white wood while the white brace was on the section that had black wood. Besides the wood and the braces, the stave had a pure black center stone that was held into place by the white wood, which was like vines around it.
Unbeknownst to Liu and Zhāng the old man had apparated behind them and had grabbed both of them by the scruff of the neck and threw them behind him, which had made Zhāng alone topple four different racks of staves while Liu was thrown down the aisle and had landed on her feet, turning around the old man had a look of complete and utter terror on his face already sweating.
"Bombarda Maxima!" He yelled pointing his wand at the stave.
Following suit was an explosion and bright light from behind them which made everyone cover their faces.
Once the light died down everyone could see that the dual-colored stave was in the hands of Zhāng.
"Of everything, that one has chosen you" the old man groaned, following was a tremor that shook the whole building, sending dust everywhere, wand boxes off the shelves and stave racks on their sides.
Unbeknownst to them, they weren't the only ones who felt the tremor. it was the whole world, muggle or not.
