Chapter 8 Accessories and a Horse?

"Ok let's get him measured"

It was only after 30 minutes of getting every possible measurement from the neck girth to the elbow girth to the sitting spread height, dozens of measurements, all written down by the quill.

"The Fenghuang robes will be delivered in three days with priority, of course, however, the foreign clothing along muggle clothing will be 14 days at the minimum due to us using traditional and professional clothing makers from that region of the world who specialize in such things"

"And would you like them to be delivered to your home or Fenghuang?"

"For the robes done in 3 days my home, while the ones done latter Fenghuang"

"Thank you for your patronage!" the man said to which the quill finally stopped writing and simply rested inside the ink.

"Let's go, we now must get your accessories and horse," Liu Said while walking out of the store

"How did you know all of that, and was all of those foreign clothes needed?"

"Well your father taught me all of that, he is the nerdy one after all, as for why you needed all of that is because frequently students from Fenghuang go to other magical schools and because the little details such as clothing matter especially in nobility if you only wear the Fenghuang robes some could take it as it disrespectful for foreign nobility to not respect their culture"

"You put such an emphasis on me being nobility, why didn't you tell me in the first place?" Zhāng asked to which Liu looked a little sad before straightening up and saying "I'll tell you the answer when we get home, for now, let us go"

Walking down the street they came across many different buildings all mostly stone and grand, it was only after a left and a right after a few minutes of walking did they reach their next destination, 'Shìpǐn diàn', literal to its name the accessories store.

Walking into the store, just like the clothing store it looked more muggle than anything excluding the weirdly named or weirdly shaped items, it looked like an 1800s General store from the American middle-west with one of every item on selves that were not that wide with a plate hanging off displaying the price of each item.

"Ahh, Miss Huangdi" The middle Aged man standing behind the counter resting his chin on his hand exhaled "What can I do for yah"

"We are here for some accessories"

"I would say no shit, but that would be a bit disrespectful wouldn't it" He laughed

"Hmm" Liu Hummed back

"Ok, what accessories are you looking for"

"I need three Quills, five bottles of ink of Shèngdà quality, 150 rolls of Shèngdà quality parchment, A Water bottle with cooling and Spatial enchantments, A Shèngdà Grade Cauldron Pewter standard size 3, six Shèngdà grade crystal vials and finally one brass scale we also need a very large eagle cage"

"Sorry but we only have 135 Rolls of such grade of parchment, so that's the max you can buy today"

After putting the hefty stack of golden coins on the table Liu waved her hand and all of the accessories joined the books inside of the ring.

"Now it's time for you to go and get your horse," Liu said while walking out of the wooden store.

"Why do I need a horse?"

"Because it is the main way of travel for wizards in china, not only is it faster than every single broomstick to date, it's also way harder to break, although its cant turn as fast and as smoothly as the broomstick, it also is used for Ceremonies"

"The place where we are going next is a bit far so we shall use apparition to get there, hold onto my arm and DON'T let go, once we get there you may feel a little nauseous but it will pass" Liu stated, putting a lot of emphasis on the don't let go part

'Crack'

"Wow, that's horrible," Zhāng said while stumbling into a fence

"Yeah you will get used to it it's one of the more popular ways of getting around as well"

Walking down the dirt road they came across a split in the road that turned into the farm that held thousands of horses that could be seen for miles all grazing, following the road they entered a wooden arc-like building a dozen or so meters long in which there was yet another table this time with a knife nothing else standing in front of a door leading into a side building.

"Hello, is anyone there" Zhāng called out, and a few seconds later a burly man walked out and said "Hello, you here for a horse?"

"Yes" Liu replied while placing the same stone with a cut jade gemstone on one side with a dragon eating its tail around an eagle spreading its wings on the other

"Nobility huh, that means a free horse" He replied while holding the stone closer for inspection

"Alright let's begin, you give me your left hand" He continued

"I'm giving my hands to everyone today huh," Zhāng remarked while lifting his left hand and giving it to him, who swiftly cut his pointer finger with the knife that was resting on the table

"Ow" He cried out

"Alright if you have a suitable horse then it will come through there," he said while leaning forward and pointing beyond the end of the arc-like building and where there was a gap in the gates.

After a few seconds of nothing happening, a horse stuck its head through the gap and walked forward "uhh what happens if they come through that gate?"

"That's the Imperial stable, if you can actually attract something from that place then I'll give you a 100 galleon discount," he said while not even looking up from the paperwork that he was filling out "Alright kid looks like you got one, what is the color of the runes"

"Golden"

"That's very funny, now what is the color now?"

"Golden" Zhāng reassured firmly to which the man finally looked up "Damn, you actually got one"

"Yes, it is, we also will need a saddle, black with golden stitching and of Shèngdà quality, two bottles of saddle polish, and a mane brush,"

"Will that be all?"

"Yes"

"The total is… 4 galleons," he said in a rather dejected manner "Where would you like for her to be placed?"

"At my house in 6 days"
