Potion’s Class and a Little Confrontation.

**My book 'HP - Ravenclaw Gamer' caused a great deal of debate, as many people had their own thoughts on who the love interest should be. Still, I have not decided about pairing.

**I am not good at Romance, so romance will not be major until I am reasonably good at it and the characters are of at least 14 or 15 years of age.

**Story will be a little lighthearted at the beginning, and at the later stages will be hardcore.

**Thanks for all those who sent many suggestions to my way.

**MC and the Other students are freaking 11 Years old even if MC had some traumatic past.

**He will not start becoming Head of the House and immediately arranging betrothal contracts to everyone and kill everyone that comes his way or looks wrong in his direction.

**He will try to benefit himself in the short run and for the long run, we will see.

Chapter 4

Here we go again - Potion's Class and a Little Confrontation.

**Harry POV**

Hogwarts was an experience that was truly bizarre and out of the ordinary for him, who had never come across anything like this while living with the Dursleys.

Sure, they didn't like him, and made a habit of speaking nonsense about him to the neighbors that he was a delinquent.

Ha! What a Joke!

He will simply pray to the Gods the days Dudley simple leave him alone without tormenting him with another one of his pranks.

God! Those 'Harry Hunting' were getting too old for his liking.

Still, he will choose Hogwarts any day over his Aunt's house.

Maybe he will go see his uncle and aunt when he grew up. He can already imagine them having a heart attack when he shows up at their house, wearing a robe and a pointed hat.

This brought a smile to his face.

Then there was Ron Weasley, one of his good friends.

True, he had his fair share of strangeness, but Ron was a kid from an enormous family, unlike him. He had Five Brothers, and One Sister.

My God, who has that much kids these days, not that he was complaining or it was any of his business.

Perhaps if Harry had some siblings, Dudley might have left him be.

That was just a wishful thought.

Dudley and his gang would've bullied my brother or sister and me. That's what would've happened. And the Dursleys would have gladly let it happen.

Well, Hogwarts was a unique and fascinating experience, and he was falling in love with the castle every minute of the day.

He also liked all the different professors in Hogwarts.

Professor McGonagall was a no-nonsense instructor who expected her students to do excellent work and not waste their time. She helped all those who asked questions and improved their understanding of Transfiguration.

Professor Flitwick was one of his best teachers at Hogwarts. He was a jovial fellow even when that one student insulted him based on his heritage in the class. He was helpful to all students, regardless of their houses.

Charms attracted him second only to Defense Against the Dark Arts.

That subject fascinated Harry to no end, but the only drawback was the Stuttering Professor Quirrel, who, according to the senior students, was perfectly fine before he took the sabbatical, but had encountered Vampires during his travels and was seriously affected by them.

Poor Professor Quirrel, Hope he gets over it.

Professor Sprout was a kind lady who teaches the Herbology subject which only two students from his class grasp fully, and most of its charms eluded him, he who was usually was familiar with his face on the dirt.

Astronomy Professor Sinistra thought he was doing all right in her subject. Though It is currently unclear to him exactly how this subject applies to the education of witches and wizards. Can they Visit Moon and other stars with Astronomy?

History of Magic, 'Ergh', was basically a free sleeping class according to Ron, who had heard from his brothers that the Ghost, Professor Binns couldn't care less about who was not paying attention to the class and was busy reciting the whole textbook for the class to take down notes.

Then there is the Potion's professor 'Severus Snape'

Good Lord, even thinking about him makes his head hurt. Harry rarely minded strict teachers, but man, did he have some kind of grudge against him?

Why was Snape always picking on him?

Did he have a grudge against him? He literally knew no one from the wizarding world!.

What the heck happened? Did his mother reject him or something!

and then there was the Dark haired, good looking kid.

Harry's eyes lost focus as he thought back to the Potions Class.

**Back During the Potions Class**

"What have we got today?" Harry asked Ron as he poured sugar on his porridge.

"Double Potions with the other houses," said Ron. "Snape's Head of Slytherin House. They say he always favors them — we'll be able to see if it's true."

"Wish McGonagall favored us," said Harry. Professor McGonagall was head of Gryffindor House, but it hadn't stopped her from giving them an enormous pile of homework the day before.

Then Harry had a mail from Hagrid asking him to visit him, which he had replied with an affirmative.

At the start-of-term banquet, Harry had gotten the idea that Professor Snape disliked him. By the end of the first Potions lesson, he knew he'd been wrong. Snape didn't dislike Harry — he hated him.

Potions lessons took place down in the room in the dungeons. It was colder here than up in the main castle, and would have been quite creepy enough without the pickled animals floating in glass jars all around the walls.

Snape, like Professor Flitwick, started the class by taking the roll call. He then paused at Harry's name.

"Ah, yes," he said softly, "Harry Potter. Our new — celebrity."

Harry then saw a Ravenclaw student looking at him with an apathetic look. Man, he was creepy like the potions professor.

Draco Malfoy and his friends Crabbe and Goyle sniggered behind their hands. Snape finished calling the names and looked up at the class. His eyes were black like Hagrid's, but they had none of Hagrid's warmth. They were cold and empty and made you think of dark tunnels.

"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion making," he began.

and Harry had already started taking notes on what the professor was speaking, determined to get a good grade at this class.

"Potter!" said Snape suddenly. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

'Powdered root of what to an infusion of what?' Harry glanced at Ron, who looked as stumped as he was; Hermione's hand had shot into the air.

"I don't know, sir," said Harry. Snape's lips curled into a sneer. "Tut, tut — fame clearly isn't everything."

He ignored Hermione's hand.

"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

Hermione stretched her hand as high into the air as it would go without her leaving her seat, but Harry didn't have the faintest idea what a bezoar was. He tried not to look at Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle, who were shaking with laughter.

He also saw that Dark haired Ravenclaw student shaking his head, in what he guessed was disappointment.

"I don't know, sir." he cringed inwardly when he said that.

"Thought you wouldn't open a book before coming, eh, Potter?"

Harry forced himself to keep looking straight into those cold eyes. He had looked through his books at the Dursleys', but did Snape expect him to remember everything in One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi?

Snape was still ignoring Hermione's quivering hand.

"What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

At this, Hermione stood up, her hand stretching toward the dungeon ceiling.

"I don't know," said Harry quietly. "I think Hermione does, though. Why don't you try her?"

A few people from the Slytherin and Hufflepuff laughed; Harry caught Seamus's eye, and Seamus winked. Snape, however, was not pleased.

"Hands down",he snapped at Hermione, who had mist forming in her eyes.

Snape looked around at the Forty students seated around him and sneered at them.

"Anyone who solves these problems can be exempted from today's assignment." Snape said looking at the Slytherin students hoping anyone of his House kids will manage to put the potter kid down a peg.

And then half of the Ravenclaw and some of the Slytherin students also raised their hands.

The Ravenclaw student who looked at Harry previously had his hand raised as well, though he looked bored.

A couple of girls from Hufflepuff had their hands in the air as well.

"You, answer them." he pointed at a Blonde-haired girl from the Slytherin group.

"Yes Professor".

The Blonde-haired girl stood up and looked around them and said, "Asphodel and Wormwood make a powerful sleeping potion known as the Draught of Living Death."

Professor Snape had a smug look on his face as a kid from his house answered them, though technically he selected her from a dozen of student who raised their hands.

"A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons."

Snape nodded his her at her to continue.

"Monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite."

"Well done, Take 10 Points for Slytherin." and everyone from the House Slytherin cheered for her, while the Blonde-haired girl sat down gracefully.

"And a point will be taken from Gryffindor House for your cheek, Potter." Harry's mood was spoiled for the rest of the day at that.

Things didn't improve for the Gryffindors as the Potions lesson continued. Snape put them all into pairs and set them to mixing up a simple potion to cure boils. He swept around in his long black cloak, watching them weigh dried nettles and crush snake fangs, criticizing almost everyone except Malfoy, whom he seemed to like. He was just telling everyone to look at the perfect way Malfoy had stewed his horned slugs when clouds of acid green smoke and a loud hissing filled the dungeon.

Neville had somehow managed to melt Seamus's cauldron, and once again a point was taken from Harry for not helping Neville.

Harry's anger was through the roof, but Ron managed to calm him down.

After the bell rang, they were almost out of the classroom and were going to Hagrid's place, when the Ravenclaw fellow who looked at him during the class stood in front of them.

He was tall for their age, Dark-haired and an Oceanic Blue eyes that stood out. He had a potions book in one hand and his other hand deep inside his robe's pockets.

He was accompanied by 3 others.

"Potter, It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Oliver Rivers, but you may call me Oliver."

Harry was a little flustered, as this was his first time interacting with other class, but not entirely, if Malfoy was taken into the equation.

"H-Hello, I am Harry Potter. And this is my friend Ron Weasley".

Ron's body stiffened when all the eyes were upon him. "Hello", he squeaked.

"This is Stephen Cornfoot", Oliver gestured towards a lean and silent type kid who nodded at him.

"I am Padma Patil, but you can call me Padma, my sister Parvati is from your House, Hope you guys get along with her." Padma was a high-spirited girl, nothing like the Ravenclaw he had imagined.

"And this is Sue Li." Oliver gestured towards a cute Asian girl, who gently waved her hands at them.

"You may wonder why we are here, talking to you," at that, both Harry and Ron nodded.

"Well, I have heard great tales and boasts about the Great Harry Potter who managed to Vanquish You-Know-Who, so my friends and I were curious and wanted to have a look at you."

Harry and Ron tensed up at that and their hands almost reached their wands, expecting a confrontation like the one Malfoy did at the Train and the Great Stairs.

But only the girls were surprised, and Oliver and Stephen didn't move to take their wands.

"I was expecting great things from you Potter, but looks like all that fame got to your head and you are here at Hogwarts without having learnt anything."

Harry looked downtrodden, but tried to not show it on his face.

"You are talking nonsense", Ron shouted at Oliver, "Harry here didn't know about being a Wizard till a month before starting Hogwarts, how do you expect him to know anything".

Harry was thankful to have his good mate, Ron, standing up for him.

Oliver's eyes narrowed at that, and both Padma and Sue Li gasped at that information.

"Really!", his Oceanic blue eyes narrowed at Harry's and for once Harry was grateful and a little disappointed that Oliver didn't once checked out his Scar which he was famous for.

"Then I must apologize. Though I truly wonder, where did you grow up? Magical or Muggle?" Oliver questioned him.

"I-I grew up with my Mother's sister and her family, a Muggle" finally Harry told the truth he only had said to Ron.

"The Boy who Lived grew up in a Muggle Home! Wow! I never would have guessed!." gushed Padma Patil.

Even Stephen and Sue Li nodded at that. Harry looked towards Oliver, but noticed that Oliver's eyes were out of focus as if he was thinking about something. Maybe remembering something from the past.

Suddenly, his eyes focused and gestured towards Harry and Ron.

"Well, If you have any trouble, and maybe have some difficulties learning something, you can come to us for help," Oliver points his friends out to Harry and Ron.

"We are interested in learning new knowledge and learn how to implement them. Because we are Ravenclaw after all, those who want to learn, who crave knowledge and perfection all gathered here in our house" Oliver and Padma laughed at that, while Sue Li and Stephen Cornfoot had a small smile.

Harry and Ron responded with a grateful nod.

"Be seeing you, Potter,"

"Bye Harry,"

"Bye"

and with that, all those 4 Ravenclaw members dispersed.

"Man, that was tiring as hell. I thought they wanted a fight", Ron slumped against a nearby chair, and Harry nodded at that. He was highly tensed during the entire conversation with them.

and then they both left towards Hagrid's hut.

Both of them did not know that the entire conversation was heard by a Bushy brown-haired girl ,Blonde Hair girl, who were staying behind to ask some question to the batty Professor Snape.

Professor Snape looked at his attendance sheet and narrowed his eyes on 'Oliver Rivers' and memorized his name.
