I am Here

**I am Heir of Cthulhu in Fanfiction.net

**Hello, I know some of you have followed and liked my other story the Cthulhu's Heir, but I had so many ideas and cramped them together and it did not mesh well. I apologize for pausing that novel. I will continue that story someday.

**This concept was suggested to me by my friends as what a beginner writer as myself should try, which I liked.

**While I was browsing for my writing materials in the Fanfiction sections, I saw many self insert Gamer novels while negligible amount of Canon Characters becoming Gamers while improving their Magic.

**During my research I found that each year is supposed to have 10 students for each houses from Harry Potter and Me.

**Harry Potter and Me is a Christmas television special by the BBC, broadcast on 28 December, 2001. It is an interview with J. K. Rowling, and is notable for showing pages of Rowling's notes on the Harry Potter series.

**Notes shown in the documentary details students in Harry Potter's year, including Wayne Hopkins, Kevin Entwhistle and Tracey Davis. The class list gives us an idea of some of the identities of the remaining students not mentioned in the series. If the year group is to comprise of 40 students, 10 belonging to each house, and even distribution of genders, we can create a better picture of the still remaining gaps. In the series we are introduced to 8 Gryffindor students (Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Hermione Granger, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil), 4 Hufflepuff students (Ernie Macmillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Hannah Abbott, and Susan Bones), 6 Ravenclaw students (Terry Boot, Mandy Brocklehurst, Michael Corner, Anthony Goldstein, Padma Patil, and Lisa Turpin) and 8 Slytherin students (Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson, Millicent Bulstrode and Daphne Greengrass) of Harry's year. The addition of the class list gives us 4 further Hufflepuffs (Wayne Hopkins, Megan Jones, Roger Malone and Kevin Entwhistle), 4 Ravenclaws (Isobel MacDougal, Stephen Cornfoot, Oliver Rivers, and Sue Li), and 1 Slytherin (Tracey Davis). The rest of the students can be placed as 2 female Gryffindors, 2 female Hufflepuffs, and 1 female Slytherin. These students are made up of Lily Moon, Sophie Roper, Sally-Anne Perks, Runcorn, and Sally Smith.

Oliver Rivers can be deduced to have been listed as a Ravenclaw on the list of students in a page of J. K. Rowling's notes shown on Harry Potter and Me.

**Thus I chose Oliver Rivers for the Main Character, as he is a Pureblood/Half-Blood, but not of the Major houses of the Wizarding world. We will see how he fares against them in the Race to the top or will he wilt under the pressure of the Wizarding world.

** Since I am new to Fan-Fiction, I will try following along Canon rather than Fanon.

Chapter 1 : I am Here

"RAVENCLAW"

A moderate amount of students cheered Oliver as the Sorting Hat assigned him to house Ravenclaw. He was confident that he wouldn't be sent home. This was just his starting point, after all.

Professor McGonagall jerked the Sorting Hat of his head and called the next student.

He sauntered over to the Ravenclaw table in the Great Hall, while being clapped for, and took a seat.

There was a girl with long curly hair sitting next to him.

"I am Penelope Clearwater, what's your name?"

After silently gazing at her for a few seconds, Oliver whispered, "My name is Rivers, Oliver Rivers".

"Ooh, looks like we got ourselves a silent one", Penelope shouted to her nearby year mates and they all had a good chuckle at his expense.

"Potter, Harry"

As Harry stepped forward, whispers suddenly broke out like little hissing fires all over the hall.

"Potter, did she say?"

"The Harry Potter?"

Oliver shifted his focus to the sorting hat.

He saw a student with dark hair, glasses too big for his face and a pale face sitting on the stool with the sorting hat on his head, and then it seemed he was speaking to the Hat, unlike him, and after a couple of minutes, the Sorting Hat screamed "Gryffindor."

"We got Potter! We got Potter!"

And then there was a loud cheer from the Gryffindor table and they welcomed warmly the Potter kid.

Oliver then saw the Potter look towards the Staff Table and saw the Giant man, giving the Potter kid a thumbs up, and he all the others staffs too clapped for him.

Harry Potter was smiling happily, and Oliver was saddened by what the Potter kid would have to face in the near future.

Oliver then tuned out the rest of the students and closed his eyes as a familiar screen filled his eyes, which he ignored back then.

Oliver's eyes narrowed at the rewards he got for the being Chosen for the Ravenclaw house. Being a Ravenclaw suited him perfectly.

He quickly skimmed the contents and quickly realized that the 'Inventory' reward was the most helpful of the ones he got. He has the ability to conceal any object within him, and no one will be able to locate them.

Points system also looked interesting to him, but he didn't know how to use them.

He conjectured that his Health points and Magical points would get bigger as he aged.

He tried looking at other students to check their Hp and Mp, but he couldn't. It seemed his system wasn't an all powerful entity.

"Ahem-" Oliver was interrupted from his thoughts and looked over towards Dumbledore, "just a few more words now that we are all fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you."

Oliver had some treacle tarts while listening to Dumbledore.

"First years should note that the forest on the grounds is forbidden to all pupils. And a few of our older students would do well to remember that as well."

Dumbledore's twinkling eyes flashed in the direction of the Gryffindor Table.

"I have also been asked by Mr. Filch, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors.

"Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of the term. Anyone interested in playing for their House teams should contact Madam Hooch. "

Oliver was not fond of Quidditch because he was more interested in acquiring knowledge than in flying.

"And finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death."

The Potter kid laughed, but Oliver narrowed his eyes, calculative of what was it in the third-floor that warranted this?.

Immediately,

Quest No. 2

'Find out the secret hidden in the Third-floor Corridor?'

Reward: +25% Magical affinity with Magical Beings.

Oliver smiled lightly as he was sure there was a treasure or something like that inside the third floor when he saw the quest being created.

Since the reward for this 2nd quest was an increase of 25% Magical affinity with Magical Beings assuming he had zero affinity, he guessed he will face some Magical beings or animals in this quest and this reward will come in handy in the future.

"And now, before we go to bed, let us sing the school song!" cried Dumbledore.

And with that Oliver tuned out his thoughts and started to sings the bland song which sounded awful even to his ears.

"All first years follow me to the common room" shouted Penelope Clearwater.

He walked with the group who were enthusiastically discussing amongst themselves, and he made no effort to converse with them.

The Statue in front of the Ravenclaw Common room asked a riddle.

Which is heavier: a ton of bricks or a ton of feathers?

Penelope Clearwater gave the answer, "Neither—they both weigh a ton."

When he got to his bed, the only thing he remembered was how much softer it was compared to the hard stone he was used to sleeping on when he was homeless.

Oliver Rivers fell asleep instantly for the first time in his life.
