Sir Redlic gave a nod. "Alright then. Let's get back to work."
With those words, Talon watched as Sir Redlic turned on his heels and began to make his way off. His heavy boots crushed the dry leaves and twigs on the ground, making distinct crushing noises in the air.
Just as Sir Redlic was almost out of sight, he halted and pivoted, retracing his steps. He faced Talon once more, saying, "Oh, by the way, I'll need you here tomorrow. We will be interrogating the servants."
Talon nodded, but inside, he was disappointed that he wouldn't be able to return until the task was completed.
He watched as Sir Redlic's silhouette slowly disappeared into the distance. Then, Talon's eyes were drawn to the flickering light in the second-floor windows of the building.
'Who?'
He peered intently, trying to get a better look at the source of the light. It seemed to be a torch being carried by someone who was hastily making their way down the hallway.
