The serum which I worked on for a month turned out to be a success. Once introduced into the bloodstream, the subject experiences a drastic increase in the amount of mana they can wield for a short period of time (6-8 minutes, further testing has to be done to get a precise number).

The effects kick in after roughly 30 seconds, short enough that the serum can be used even in cases of emergency. As of now, the only person who has tested the serum (I will name it the Potion of Unlimited Power from now on) is me. Quite fitting for a mad scientist if I do say so myself. After all, only a true mad scientist would use themselves as a testing subject for a serum of dubious origin.

Now that we have explored the use and advantages of the Potion of Unlimited Power, let's move to its side effects. Through preliminary tests, the only side effect I have observed so far is extreme hunger. An expected effect given that the serum works by burning fat and muscles on the body. Because of this, I believe that using the Potion of Unlimited Power more than once within a short interval can be detrimental in the long run.

In addition to the hunger, the subject will also experience slight weakness once the effect of the serum runs out. It can last anywhere between an hour to half a day.

In conclusion, the Potion of Unlimited Power can be quite the trump card for a big fight. On the bright side, this serum could also be used as a method of weight loss for many people. I wonder if I can isolate that effect to make a weight loss serum. I reckon it would sell like hot cake everywhere.

But I digress. Now that the Potion of Unlimited Power has been completed, I am planning to work on body modification method. After going through Colt's journal, I have been enlightened about the advantages of a strong body. And I plan on making the perfect body using the power of Colt's research and my genius.

The serum was developed after studying the expanded state of the assassin's arm. While the form boasts incredible power, it only lasts for a short while and the backlash is pretty apparent. However, even on its normal state, the arm is still much superior to a normal humans'.

If I can replicate the effect without having to resort to changing my body parts for that of other creatures', I am sure stories of Dr. Frankenstein's coolness will spread far and wide.

For now, I only have one idea about how to achieve this goal in my mind. To cultivate a second heart whose sole purpose will be to pump mana throughout the body, thus modifying it. The inspiration behind this idea are the magical beasts whose hearts are said to be the key behind their amazing vitality and strength.

While it sounds plausible in my head, I will have to study the hearts of magical beasts in great depth. The method to cultivate a second heart is nothing hard acquire. There's one in our library. The reason why it is not used widely despite being so easy to get is the amount of mana required.

According to my calculations, I wouldn't even be close to being able to afford enough mana source even if I spent my entire fortune of 65 gold coins. In fact, I would need mana source worth roughly 12000 gold coins if I want this idea of mine to come to fruition. Putting it into another perspective, I would have to lose 185 duels given that all of their recordings sell as well as The Second Coming of Monolithic Sword Saint.

As my financial capability seems severely lacking, I have decided to further perfect the Potion of Unlimited Power for now while amassing more wealth.

Make a pair of glasses. I don't feel like a mad scientist without them. Also, think of a badass design for your monster.
