Chapter 18.

•Pisces' POV•

"Pisces, what did that night mean to you?" Gemini had asked me a couple days later, after that incident together. I hadn't answered it. I pretended I was asleep when he asked, and he seriously just gave up and went to sleep too. He's gullible, but.. In the cute kind of way.

But now I realise, I should've answered.. Maybe it could've stopped Gemini and Scorpio from getting so close..

Even though we've known each other for one of the longest amount of time, we hadn't shared our feelings until that night.. Honestly, I don't know what came over me.. Maybe I was afraid to lose him, as stupid as it sounds.

"Hey, Pisces!" Gemini called from beside me and Scorpio was, of course, beside him.

"What?" I said after some hesitation.

"You seem deep in thought, what's up?" Scorpio asked from beside him, as if he were concerned for my wellbeing. He's just trying to look good infront of Gemini, isn't he?

"I didn't know I had to share every thought of mine with a scorpion." I hissed back, which made his eyes widen slightly in surprise. Gemini just stared at me, real concern embedded into his features.

I just walked faster and came up beside Libra. "Hey." I smiled at her slightly.

"Oh, hey Pisces!" She smiled back, enthusiastically. She reminded me of Gemini, a little.

"What does the fish want, then?" Cancer snorted from beside her. I felt excluded within this group, as if everyone had someone, except for me.

"What is your problem?" I snapped at him, stopping. He reluctantly stopped with me, along with Libra. Gemini and Scorpio stopped behind us.

"My problem, is you. Honestly, I don't know how Gemini put up with you for so long. You're just, plain ignorant and abusive." He hissed at me, with a sharp glare.

"I'm the abusive one? At least I'm not some possessive dipshit!" I growled back, which made him flinch slightly. Hah. That hit a nerve, then.

"Say that again.."

"At least. I'm not. A. Possessive. DIPSHIT!" I screamed, which made everyone flinch, excluding Cancer. He quickly grabbed me by the collar and slammed me into a tree(we were walking through a forest now). Libra let out a short scream in panic.

"Do you even hear yourself right now?" His glare sharpened.

"Probably better than you do.. Do crabs even have the ability to hear?" I raised an eyebrow, which led to him slamming a fist into my face.

"Stop it!" Gemini shrieked from behind Cancer, fear etched his expression.

I couldn't help but think back to then..

•The past, when Pisces was about sixteen-years-old and Gemini was about fifteen-years-old•

"..Sir.. I'm sorry.." I cried out, as he held me up by the back of my collar. I had been caught red-handed, trying to steal from a rich family. A boy around my age came running down the stairs.

"What's all this about?!" He exclaimed, demanding.

"This child was caught stealing from your family." The supposed 'bodyguard' of the family said.

"Put him down!" He said, though I could tell he was quite afraid, alas he was putting up a good act.

"But-"

"No buts! Put him down then leave us!" He demanded again. The man sighed, and reluctantly put me down, as he stormed out.

"Thank you.." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck.

"Y-You're welcome.." He smiled slightly, his hands held together, fidgeting slightly.

I slowly walked forwards and took his hands, gently in mine. "Don't be nervous around me.."

From then on, we had become best friends. It waa going well, until he and his family had to move away.. The next thing I knew, I had given up and gotten way too skinny to survive. I had just.. Let myself lose the game of life.

I soon caught an illness, and went out the same way the Snake did.

Gemini had grown up and lived until he died of old age. The only successful one of us all. I suppose kindness is a bliss..

•The present•

Before I knew it, Cancer had calmed down and I sunk against the tree, sighing in relief.

"Pisces, are you okay?!" Gemini asked from beside me, finally Scorpio had left him alone. I nodded subtly and smiled, as I slowly shut my eyes and drifted off.
