"Don't underestimate Jiraiya. He's not like Orochimaru." Itachi thought back to the man he had defeated with a single Genjutsu. To be honest, if Orochimaru's soul hadn't weakened from his reincarnations, Itachi wasn't sure he'd be able to beat him, given Orochimaru's knowledge of the Sharingan.

Unless Itachi went all out with his Mangekyou Sharingan.

But the Sannin aren't so easy to kill. Jiraiya's Sage Mode, Tsunade's regeneration ability, and Orochimaru's... well, survival skills, make them tough opponents. Itachi wasn't about to underestimate the Sannin just because of Orochimaru's one failure.

Kisame, on the other hand, might be getting a little too full of himself.
