HOW DID I BECOME THE SYSTEM!?

Stella, a seemingly average girl with a remarkable resemblance to a certain tomboy anime girl, dies during an attack on her school protecting her class. However, instead of seeing the pearly gates, she finds herself on trial for crimes committed against the gods in a past life. The verdict is not what she expected... Warning, the beginning isn't too good since it's just me letting my imagination run wild but two chapters in, the quality picks up.

USJ Arc Part 6

| Stella P.O.V |

Man, being back in a real body, and a girl's body at that was something else. if I had to put a word to it, I think "real" would suffice.

*𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢*

Simulating a body inside the system is great and all but something about having a flesh and blood one feels way better.

*𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙢*

I'd be able to appreciate it more if it wasn't for the current situation, but considering I saved 1-A from being turned into chunky salsa from All Might's and Revenant's fight, I think everything is okay.

"Uraraka," Bakugo's shakey voice snaps me out of my musing as I turn my -actually Ochaco's head- to face him. "How the hell are you doing that."

His finger pointed toward USJ where I currently maintained a kilometer-wide invisible wall of Anti-Gravity to repulse the force of the fight and the dust being blown away by it, making something that looked like it was straight out of some sci-fi movie in my old world.

"Uhhhhh," This was going to be a tough one to explain considering Ochaco did not have this kind of power but I had a plan! Operation bullshit go! "I-I don't know, I felt the explosion coming, and I, and then, it just felt like something in me snapped and I could suddenly do...that." I gestured toward the general direction of what used to be USJ with my head because I was focusing the Ochaco new power through her arms, and holy shit was the place fucked. The cost to rebuild it is definitely going to be in the upper millions.

Bakugo took my explanation in stride if the grin on his face was anything to go by. "Well fuck, whatever it is don't stop doing it!"

"Didn't plan to." I really didn't, not when All Might was still throwing around haymakers with the yield of small atomic bombs.

"Great, how long can you keep this up," Bakugo asked.

I was about to say indefinitely until my/Ochaco's vision got a bit dim on the edges and I felt something wet on her upper lip, blood i immediately knew. A quick diagnostic with the system revealed that Ochacho's brain and body were getting strained by the sudden boost I gave to her quirk. "About...3 minutes give or take so we should really get everyone out of here," Bakugo looked like he was getting ready to say something, most likely concerning Izuku, but I cut him off. I already knew where izuku was and that's exactly where I was going to take us. "Don't worry about finding Izuku, he's not anywhere near here." My knees suddenly felt a bit weak, almost making me fall to the ground.

"Uraraka are you okay?" Mina along with the rest of the class had caught up to me and Bakugo.

"How are you doing this," Jiro asked in awe looking at the effect of my power.

Dammit, I should have really seen the side effects coming, I knew beforehand that quirk enhancement drugs were illegal because of how they damage the body of the user but I thought doing it with my system would somehow make it less taxing for her to use. This was to say, that I need to hurry the fuc-"Blarghhh" and there goes her lunch.

"Alright, long story short, I awakened a hidden and powerful ability within myself and am now I'm going to use it to save everyone." It sounded like the ravings of some sort of Chunni or like I was trying to describe the average Shonnen protagonist but it was the prompt and accurate description of what was going on.

And now the world is spinning. Fuckin A.

With Ochaco's condition worsening by the second, I decided to break character to get everyone to hurry up. "Now children, get on the bus and I'll get us to safety. Chop chop"

"Seriously Ochaco, are you going to be ok, your...well... not looking too good," Kirishima asked with clear concern in his voice.

Kirishima was a good kid, and definitely one of my favorite characters in the anime but his pointing out the obvious instead of following my instructions was really starting to piss me off.

With a wild gesture of my hand, the bus flew from the earth it was stuck to previously, soaring high into the sky unnoticed by the class until it crashed harshly upright and directly behind me and Bakugo by a few inches, making him and the class jump. "Get on the fucking bus. NOW!"

Maybe it was the show of power, the authority in my voice, or the bloodshot crazed look in my eyes, but everyone finally shut up and got on the bus.

"Hello everyone, this is your captain speaking, thanking you for choosing System Airlines," I was sitting in the driver's seat of the bus because why not, I always wanted to drive one of these things and dreams come true every day. When I was sure everyone was well-situated I began to surround the bus with the power of Ochaco's quirk causing it to float. "There are no seat belts on this plane so please hold on tight and if you fall out of the plane while it is in motion, death is most certain." I made the bus go higher and higher until it was about 40 meters in the air before I stopped. "Once again thank you for choosing System Airline, have a safe trip." And like I was firing the bus from a cannon I propelled it forward, FAST.

"WOOOAAAH"

"AHHHHH"

"MOMMY"

"I WANT TO GO HOME"

"TO THINK THE HEAVENS WOULD BE MORE FRIGHTING THAN THE DARKNESS"

These were just some of the screams I heard on my impromptu magic school bus trip as we soared through the air. If Ochaco wasn't currently dying of internal bleeding in several places of her body I would be laughing my ass off. But as it stood, her failing vitals meant that I need to focus on landing the bus, preferably as close to Izuku as possible so I could heal her without suspicion. After a few seconds of flying through the air, we came close to where Izuku crashed after being blown away so I started metaphorically hitting the brakes.

"Alright class, I'm bringing her in for a landing, hold on tight! Well tighter." The ground began closing in fast as my vision was getting blurry. "HERE WE GOOOO!" My shout caused blood and spittle to fly out my mouth and splatter against the window in front of me but I paid it no mind. It was concerning but I would fix Ochaco soon enough.

*CRASH*

*SMASH*

*CRASH*

*SKRRRRT*

When the bus finally came to a stop I didn't bother trying to make a joke or say anything witty. I hopped out of the driver's seat and made a run (wobble) toward Izuku who looked just as bad as Ochaco did in the injury department. His arms and legs were bent at od angles, his lips, nose, and face were busted up and swollen, and from the wheezing I heard in his breath, his lungs weren't doing too good either.

But as I looked at the bloodied broken form of my brother, I could only sigh, I felt a lot of emotions I thought were lost to me seeing him like this, but I only had one thing to say. "I hope this pain teaches you a lesson about holding back on the battlefield my foolish little brother."

With my peace said I stopped my possession of Ochaco's body and returned all of my consciousness back to the system. In an instant, the familiar desk and screens with the junk food I had on them were once again in my view. Then I remember something important I should have done before leaving Ochaco's body.

"Oh crap, I forgot to lay her down before coming back," and with all the pain her body was in she was definitely going to face plant. "Oh well, she was gonna black out anyway so it's not like she'll feel anything when she hits the floor. What I should be focusing on is starting up Izuku's ability."

With a quick swipe of my mouse and a click, I brought up Izuku's Status sheet.

*Knock Knock Knock*

"Stella, Izuku's here but he isn't responding to me, please help." Izuki's voice came from the only door to my... let's be generous and call it an office. Her voice was calm but I could tell she was worried, bordering on panicking, about our brother, I could tell from the fact she bothered coming to me at all for help.

Izuki felt that her time with our brother was too short -and she wasn't wrong because Izuku's brain usually decided the time dilation in his mindscape- and thus she always competed with me for Izuku's time when he was asleep and preferred it when it was just them hanging out since according to her "having you around feels like adult supervision" -I told her my actual age awhile ago- but I think the real reason is that I keep teasing her in front of izuku, making her look "uncool".

"Ah I'm getting distracted again," I shake my head and willed my door to open so that Izuki could come in.

She stepped in without a preamble, carrying Izuku's body, or more accurately a mental projection of it without his real body's injuries, on her shoulder and began throwing questions. "What happened to him, how do we fix him, who did this and when can I meet them?"

I almost sighed knowing that what she meant by meeting who did this to Izuku was more along the lines of breaking them in half and then putting half of the halves back together. It made me question why she was so violent before I remembered that not only did her quirk allow her the hit-first-ask question-later approach without much repercussion but she's also a traumatized 8-year-old who watched our brother get brutally murdered, died, and then came back to life with the news of everyone but Izuku moving on without her. So it was quite obvious she would be protective of him, her cherished brother, and only tie to her previous life.

I would probably be just as fucked up as her if I hadn't become Stella again after receiving my old memories. A lot of which included quite of few of my celestial friends bitting space dust in the war with the void beast.

Watching Karma die in my arms was one of the most heart-wrenching moments in my entire lives. I didn't know what depression even was back then but now I'm pretty sure I had it after that. I cried ugly tears, swore to kill every void beast I saw, and mourned for like...ever. Then the bastard came back a week later like nothing ever happened. Quite a few of the beings I called my friends made fun of me for quite a while after that.

Similar situations happened during the war with different celestials to the point my view on life and death became skewed. Nowadays, and even in my previous life when I saw someone hurt or dying, my thoughts were "If death doesn't stick it ain't worth crying over."

But Izuki was not me, even if I was her, and thus felt a deep desire to get back at whoever or whatever was responsible for Izuku's current situation. And you know what? I was inclined to let her. She had been cooped up in here for a few years and temporarily resurrecting her to let Izuku know what he was fighting for, without unlocking his memories of his time in the system, seemed like a great idea to me.

Sure dear old Dad and his secret spook organization might do something like investigate the appearance of his dear old dead daughter but...

"STELLA!" I was violently shaken out of my thoughts by Izuki. "My questions, answer them!"

"Alright, quit shaking me you little psycho," Izuki complied with me but she stayed nearby, likely to be in reach to do something else if I didn't comply. "To answer your questions in order, he took some now temporary brain damage in a villain attack, I'm already fixing him, All Might, Revenant, and his dead teacher's shadow, and you can meet them right now if you want just don't do anything permanent to All Might or Izuku will get mad.

Izuki took a few seconds to parse through my answer before her eyes widened and her jaw dropped in surprise at me letting her out into the "Real World" causing me to smirk. "Are you serious Stella...about me being able to leave?"

"Yeah, but it'll be temporary," Izuki's face falls at this and it's honestly heartbreaking but I don't give in to the urge to give her the complete resurrection she wants. "C'mon don't give me that look, you know what the numbers say about what happens if I fully resurrect you now, and quite frankly I'm taking a big risk even giving you a temporary resurrection."

"Yeah yeah, I know and I'm grateful." Izuki bows her head low to me in genuine gratitude but with Izuku still hanging over her shoulder, it looks weird. "Thank you for your generosity, Stella."

"No thanks needed squirt. You can give 'em hell for me though." I respond with an impish smile.

I snap my fingers to add a bit of dramatic flare to my actions as the room shifts and expands to fit a newly created king-size bed with an All Might comforter so Izuki could place Izuku on it instead of carrying him around. She sees the bed, nods to me, and starts to tuck him in like he's a baby, giving her a kind of motherly air which was weird to me since despite looking as old as Izuku she was still like 8 and I was never a mother or had a mother figure after my first mom who I can barely remember. When Izuki's done tucking him in, she whispers goodbye to him and comes straight to me.

"How do I get out of here?" She asks with a level of seriousness I rarely even see in myself.

"Well just step through the..."

*BeepBeepBeep*

*BoopBoopBoop*

The alarms I set to inform me of any difficulty spikes in the quest and changes in the quest simulations both went off at the same time causing me to completely disregard giving Izuki passage outside the system to turn to my computer screens in order to look at what had caused the alarms to go off.

And what I saw on the visual feed confused me quite a bit. "The Negative Energy construct, what the hell is it doing here?" The construct had appeared quite a ways from the now-destroyed USJ but it wasn't doing anything at the moment.

"Maybe it's here to help Izuku," Izuki who was now peering over my shoulder chimed in. "I mean he did create it after all."

I thought the same for a bit because I was under the impression that the construct came in response to Izuku's current condition. But then a thought came to me, 'If the construct was here to help, why did Izuku's quest difficult spike?' The answer was simple and obvious, "It's going to attack Izuku or the students isn't it?"

The construct, which I'll call Shadow -original, I know- began to spread darkness all around him for a good half a kilometer, and from its darkness rose an army of hundreds if not thousands of shadow-like beings similar to himself but all different. Some looked like people with mutation quirks others like heroes and villains, and a few like ordinary civilians. I don't know if it was a gut feeling or a system scanner that told me that those Shadow...trawls, while not people, weren't just the creation of the construct imagination. With no visual or auditory orders, they began to spread out in every direction, but a dense cluster of around a thousand or so were heading in the class's direction just like I had guessed they would.

"Ok Izuki, new plan. You're not going to stop All Might's fight. You're going to meet Class 1-A!"
