Chapter 12

I just stared at the ceiling of the room while waiting for dad and Dra.

"Elise?" I heard mom called. When I looked at her she hurriedly went beside me and held my hand.

"h-how are you? H-how are you feeling?" she asked worriedly and brushed my hair with her hand.

"I'm fine mom, don't worry about me. you should get back to sleep. Dad said that you haven't been able to get some sleep for the past 2 nights" I said and smiled at her to assure her.

"I'm just really worried honey. What happened to you? What are you doing at the museum?"

"I just want to tour around Vaduz because I got bored at my condo and I got tired thinking for a new plot for my next novel" I said and avoided her gaze.

"next time, call us so we can join you." My mother said and sat beside me. She caress my cheeks while staring at me worriedly. I can see in her eyes that she wants to ask me questions badly but she chose not to.

A nurse came by to check on me because Dra. Ana is still on her way.

"everything is normal ma'am, but Dra. Ana still need to check on you. I don't know if she will be able to go here today because her operation Is still ongoing as of this moment. But as soon as she finished it she'll check on you and decide whether you stay here or not. " The nurse informed us and left us again.

We stayed silent for while waiting for dad to comeback. When he came back he's already holding take out foods.

"I bought us some food. I already talked to Dra. Ana but she has a patient today so she's not sure if she'll make it or not." Dad said and kissed mom on the forehead before arranging our food at the table.

"a nurse came by and informed us already." Mom said and went towards dad to help him.

"what did the nurse said?"

"everything is normal but we still need to wait for Dra. Ana's approval."

Dad pulled the table towards me so we can eat together.

"can you sit?" mom asked and helped me. Dad adjusted my bed and arranged my table.

"let's eat? What do you want?" dad asked and showed me the food. He bought my mom's favourite and mine. I pointed at the katsu which he immediately put on my table together with a salad and a burger and a bottled water.

"eat well sweetie, you slept for 3 days, I guess you're really hungry." He said and helped me open the containers.

"don't tell me you're going to feed me dad?" I jokingly said but he looked at me.

"do you want me to feed you little princess?" he said that made me laugh.

"I can manage dad. Go, eat your food" I said and pushed him slightly that made him chuckle.

"alright, tell me if you need anything" he said and sat infront of mom who is just staring at me.

"eat mom, and rest later." I said and smiled at her. she smiled back and nodded. After sleeping I went back to sleep because my head starts to hurt again.

"my family is going to visit me here next week and they want to meet you in person" Midnight said while he's strumming his guitar while I'm reading my notes.

"next week? I thought it's next month?" I said and looked at him.

"that's what I thought too but something came up, my dad's meeting here is rescheduled." He said and looked at me. "don't worry, they liked you. They will love to meet you" he said and smiled at me.

"but I'm nervous" I said and sighed. He put his guitar on my bed and walked towards me. he knelt infront of me and held my hand.

"there's nothing to be worried about. They will surely love you, your attitude, your appearance, everything. Don't overthink, just be yourself. You already talked to them thru skype right? And they liked you. If they didn't liked you then you won't be able to see them in person." He said and kissed the back of my hand. "trust my words, my mom will not let you feel awkward. She's more excited to meet you than to see me." he said and chuckled.

"we should grab something for her" I said.

"you don't have to" he said and pinched my cheeks.

"I know that but of course I want to give them something" I said and smiled at him. "help me?"

"Alright. But first, finish studying for your exam, I'll wait" he said and kissed my forehead and went back to my bed to practice playing his guitar.

I smiled while staring at him who's seriously playing his guitar while watching a tutorial on his phone. I'm so lucky to have this man in my life. I'm so inlove with him, and I hope he knows.

"sweetie, Midnight's already downstairs. Come out now." I heard mom said outside of my room.

"coming mom" I replied while staring at my reflection on the mirror. I'm wearing a light gray dress whit long sleeves. I took a deep breath before I grab my purse and went outside. My mom looked at me with a smile on her lips.

"you look fabulous. I told you it will fit on you." She said while looking at me wearing the dress she made for me.

"I'm nevous mom" I said that made her smile even more.

"you can do it hun, if they don't like you then so be it. But it's impossible for them not to like you. I mean look at you, so gorgeous and has a pleasant attitude. Don't think too much, they will like you" she said and held my hand.

"let's go, the boys are waiting for you." She said and guided me towards the stairs.

"there she is" I heard dad exclaimed and walked towards me and offered me his hand when I reached the last step of our stair.

"dad, what's with you?" I asked and chuckled.

"you are so beautiful sweetie. I should hide you now" she jokingly said that made me laugh. I looked at Midnight who's just staring at me. He's wearing a gray polo and paired it with jeans. Beside him is Seb who's smiling at me widely while wearing his white polo.

"you looked like a pastor at our church" I jokingly said at Seb who lost his smile and frown at me.

"really El? I'm about to compliment you but you already teased me.Well, then, you looked like a koala. Your eyes are so big" he said and stuck out his tongue at me and I just laughed at him.

I looked back at Midnight who still looking at me but now with a wide smile on his face.

"you look so beautiful tonight love" he said and handed me a yellow lily that made me smile even more.

"thank you love" I said and kissed him on his cheeks.

"I'll just drop her later uncle, auntie" Midnight said and smiled at my parents who's just smilng at us.

" alright, take care of our daughter, Midnight" dad said and tapped Midnight's shoulder.

"of course sir. we will be back before 11"

"go now, It's already 8 your family is probably waiting for you guys" mom said and walked us outside.

"I'll sit in the back. Seb will throw a tantrum if I sit with you" I whispered at Midnight who just laughed and nodded. When we got into his car he opened the backseat door for me but I turned around and kissed my parents goodbye.

"we will go ahead, mom, dad" I said and smiled at them.

"enjoy the night sweetie" mom said and held my arms. I nodded at her and widened my smile.

"of course mom. Enjoy your movie night" I said and winked at dad who just laughed at me.

When I got into the car I waved at them before closing the window.

I checked the paper bags beside me where I put my gifts for Midnight's family. I checked the scented candles I picked for her mom, Midnight said that his mother Is a huge collector of candles so I spend days finding for rare or limited edition candles here in Vaduz, luckily my mom has a friend who owns a candle shop.

I picked a wine for his father from my dad's store, books for his younger brother and an abstract painting for her sister. I saw that painting at a park where an old man is selling his artworks.

"I'm hungry already, faster" Seb said and growled at midnight who just scowled at him.

"you just ate at El's house, stop complaining" Midnight said that made Seb pout.

"just make it fast Night. I'm your bestfriend you should be worried about me" he said and touched Midnight's hand jokingly that made me laugh because Midnight hurriedly distanced his hands away from Seb.

"I'm not worried about you. Stop touching me" Midnight said disgustingly.

"drive faster and I won't touch you" Seb shouted that made me laugh loudly. He turned to me and raised one of his eyebrows.

"happy El? Happy?" he asked sarcastically that made me laugh even more.

"crazy" he said and shook his head at me.

"here, for you. I made it just in case you get hungry" I said and handed him a sandwich that lighten up his face.

" Thank you bestfriend" he exclaimed and high fived me.

He shut up while he's eating that made me chuckle. Seb is really playful, naughty and hyper but when it comes to food, he'll behave.

I looked at the rear view mirror to look at Midnight who is already looking at me.

'I love you so much ' he mouthed at me and smiled.
