I am on cloud nine right now. I can't believe Seth Rollands hugged me. Seth freaking Rollands. I kept my cool but after a while I couldn't help but do my victory dance.

But he likes Bec. Way to go, brain. Just when I was having a moment. But what did that hug mean? I was so confused but I patted my heart while making a promise.

Maybe I should collect more embarrassing things about him. I miss mom, she would've told me what to do. My mom is a marriage counselor. She can get a little naughty sometimes.

I remember one fine day, Bec and I were talking about our crushes. Okay, Bec was talking and I was listening. Mom overheard us and when she heard the name of Bec's latest crush she quickly proposed a plan. She said that we should throw a party.

When I arched a brow, she said since we were in the last year of middle school we should throw a we-might-not-attend-the-same-high-school party. Before I could remind Bec that there was only one high school in our little town of Brooksville she agreed.

My matchmaking mother 'accidentally' locked Bec and her crush in my room. When I had gone there with Sharon to revise for an upcoming test, we stumbled on a crazy makeout session. We were just fourteen.

Anyways my mom is still the best when it comes to stuff like this. I wondered if she would like a surprise visit to her office. Changing into more self respecting clothes, I texted Bec about my whereabouts and left the house after making a late lunch for mom.

I hailed a cab and in thirty minutes we arrived in front of my mom's office. I paid the fare and stood looking at the big building. Marriage and more... was very bold and eye catching, it's almost impossible to go unnoticed. I entered and made my way to the receptionist.

"Hi"

"Beth it's so good to see you. How have you been?"

I almost never came here because I was never in the mood to see couples kissing after they have been counselled.

"I have been well, Mandy. How are you? I see someone's put a ring on it" I gestured with my chin to the ring on her finger. She blushed.

"I'm great. And yes he put a ring on it" she wiggled her fingers. "Here to see your mom?"

I almost said durr.

"Yes, is she busy?"

"Yeah, but I can call her to let her know that you are here so that she'll round up"

"No. You see the thing is I want to surprise her"

"Aw, aren't you the sweetest thing, ok why don't you leave that with me and take a stroll around the office"

"Okay, thanks"

I left her with the lunchbox and went to the elevator. The view from the roof is beautiful so I entered the elevator and had just pressed the rooftop button when an arm stopped the doors from closing. The elevator doors gave way and an extremely hot dude entered.

"Beth, how nice to see you"

I was in no mood to talk to Damien Harris. My mom's assistant who was in his early twenties. He changed girlfriends as easily as he changed clothes. He irked me but luckily for him my mom would kill me if I messed with him.

"Beth, I said.."

"No need to repeat yourself I ignored you just fine the first time"

"..."

I literally rolled my eyes to the heavens. When the doors opened I walked out with my chin up. That ought to teach him some manners. I knew he would follow me, after all guys liked girls that played hard to get. I enjoyed the breeze that swayed my hair. This moment is so peaceful.

"Beth"

I spoke too soon.

"What?"

"Can we talk for a second?"

I didn't want to but I thought of something.

"Sure"

"Thanks I thought..."

"It has been a second, bye Damien"

I walked to the elevator, pissed that this guy had to ruin my mood. I knew he wouldn't let me be and true to my speculation he followed me to the first floor.

I treated him like air and went to Mandy.

"Is she free?"I asked expectantly. It was killing me to talk to that wretched guy.

"No yet cupcake. In a few she'll be available"

I forced a smile on my face and turned to meet Damien's irritable gaze.

"Can I see you for a few minutes?"

I laughed inwardly knowing that he thinks he is so wise as to ask me for a few minutes instead of a second like earlier.

"The last time I saw you I was hoping it'd be the last"

I heard gasps, followed by the shattering sound of his pride. While he was taken aback I shrugged like I it was the most natural thing to say.

"Why don't you give me a chance?"

"Because cheating and disloyalty are not in my dictionary"

"B-but I love you"

I chuckled before using my hand to make a straight line from his stomach to his groin.

"Men like you, your love lies three inches below your belly button"
