VOLUME TWO: RIVALS WITH THE DOCTOR
QUILL
OCEAN'S VOICE turned fuzzy as I walked further into the hospital and slipped into my office. "Sweetheart, you can stay in my house as long as you need. You can't move in with a man so soon." It'd been less than a month since I joked with my sister about needing to get her life together, but I wasn't serious. After losing her job as a preschool teacher, she moved into my spare bedroom and I enjoyed the company. There was no rush to kick her out until she got back on her feet as a nanny.
But no, my younger, free-spirited sibling met a man and fell madly in love.
"It's time, Quill."
"You barely know him. What if his genetic disposition makes him a bad match for procreating?" She hadn't even run a background check on him yet, let alone completed his DNA analysis. What made her so reckless?
Ocean laughed. "I don't care about any of those things, Quill. When you meet your soulmate, your heart decides."
