Chapter 7: Forest spirits

Echo: My name is Echo. I'm a protector of this forest. And also,..(stare at Siren while smirking) I'll eliminate anyone, whoever enter the forest.

Siren: D-Did you mean, y-you'll..K-KILL me?!! 😫

Echo: hahaha you are really smart. I like it.

Siren: (panic) W-W-Wait up!!! (He's serious isn't he? 😩)

Echo: hm?

Siren: (nervous laughter) Y-You are joking right? There's a hidden camera planted around here, right?..-right?

Echo: haha You're so funny, Siren.

Siren: 😭 This is not even funny!!!

Echo: You know, I've been through this so many times. And since I'm in a good mood today, I'll let you choose. Do you prefer the fastest or the slowest way? (creepy smile)

Siren: (panic) 😱 NOOO!!!- (I need to think fast on how to get out from here)

Siren panicking but, she's suddenly get an idea on how to escape from Echo that's trying to kill her. Siren doubtful it'll work but, she is pushing her luck anyway.

Siren: OBJECTIONS!!!

Echo: hm?

Siren: Y-You cannot KILL me.

Echo: And why is that?

Siren: Because you are the one who's invited me into this forest without my consent.

Echo: (tilt his head while pointing his finger at himself) Me??

Siren: Yes. I've been possessed by your song and the owl hooting sound.

Hoo~ Hoo~

Siren: Okay,..thanks Mr. Owl. So, when I snap out and realize that I've already standing up here, deep inside the Hooting Forest.

Echo: But, that song is-

Suddenly, a small red fox appear, interrupt the conversation between Echo and Siren. The red fox has a bracelet with a bell hanging on its tail and on its right ear it has the same earring like Echo but the colors is a bit different. The color is reddish orange.

Eliot: Master, sorry for interrupt.

Siren: T-The red fox..it can talk?! 😱

Echo: You can understand what he said?

Siren: (facinating) Yes!!..Aww~ it's so cute ☺️

Eliot: (awkward) er-thank you 😐

Echo: hm, facinating (turning his head towards the red fox) By the way, why are you here, Eliot?

Eliot: (bow) Master,..Grandowl are calling for you.

Echo: Okay, let me KILL this human first (pointing his finger at Siren) 😌

Siren: (jolt) NOOO!!! 😫

Eliot: He said it's urgent and bring along the human.

Echo: You mean her?

Eliot: Yes.

Echo: hm 🤔..okay. (offer his hand to Siren) Let's go, Grandowl want to see you.

Siren: W-Who's Grandowl?

Echo: I'll tell you later. Come on, give me your hand.

Siren: (firm) NO! until you promise me that you're not going to KILL me? (I need to make sure to keep my distance from him. He looks dangerous 😣)

Echo: sigh~ You know especially during the full moon, the creatures lived inside this forest are a bit of..how would i say..uncontrollable. And I don't want to bring chopped human meat to my Grandowl. (bow and offer his hand again to Siren) So, would you please take my hand, lady?

After Echo said that, suddenly Siren get a strange vibe like the creatures are watching her and waiting to chomp her tasty flesh, human body. Feeling terrified, Siren immediately grab Echo hand.

Echo: (smile) Good girl. Eliot! Light the way.

Eliot: Yes, master.

Eliot, the red fox step his right feet onto the ground and ringing the bell hanging on its tail 3 times (left, right, left). On the third ringing, suddenly the ground form a path and besides the ground path, both right and left side is lighten up by small creatures.

Siren: (facinating) What is that?

Echo: That is Twinkle. Besides, the red fox you see here, twinkle is also one of the Forest Spirits. Twinkle is a glowing in the dark flower. It can be any types of flowers. During the day, we may see them as a normal flower. But, during the night, they'll glow and lighten up the forest. Twinkle normally use as a guide by other Forest spirits to reach a certain area in this forest. But, only the red fox has the ability to call up them using the bell hanging on their tail.

Siren: I see. (hm..he's knowledgable)

Siren, Echo and Eliot walking along the lighten ground path. While walking, Siren staring at Echo dragging her while holding her hands.

Siren: (hm he's almost the same height as me. I wonder what is his age, etc. I have tons of questions to ask him, but-)

Outside of the lighten ground path, there's something approaching and hit the lighten ground path on both left and right side.

Siren: (shock) W-W-What is that? 😱
