His Very Own

Adam Roper packs his car and leaves his home in New York City to start a new life in Miami, Florida. After a full day of driving, he stops in a small town to buy food at the local grocery store. He offers to help an old woman with her groceries, and before he knows it, he's eating dinner at her home with her son and his wife, the two most attractive people Adam has ever met.<br><br>Scott Emerson and his wife, Sasha. Scott and Sasha once ran wild together, but settled down when they had their daughter, Colette. Now Sasha works as the town's only doctor, and Scott spends his days raising Colette and struggling to write. Both of them long for a taste of their former lives, and they think a night spent with Adam will scratch that itch. But Adam is just more than a random one night stand. Can the three of them arrange a more permanent solution and give Adam a place of his very own.

Chapter 28

“You should finish up whatever you’re working on tonight.”

“Especially if Colette isn’t around to bug me.” As Adam turned to leave, Scott shot one last smile over his shoulder. “I might even be done by the time you get back. We can have some quiet time with Sasha then.”

“And by quiet time, you mean the opposite of quiet, right?”

His smile widened. “It’s quiet if we gag Sasha.”

“You do owe her one for the other night. I’ll be back soon. I’m not going to let Ida trap me into watching TV, or reading to her, or helping with cookies, or any other craziness.” Adam stepped out of living room and shut the door behind him. Pausing at the foot of the stairs, he shouted up to Colette’s room, “Hey, you! Are you ready to go to your Gram’s?”

Running footsteps pounded overhead, followed by Colette rushing down and past him in a blur. “Bye, Dad! See you tomorrow!” She didn’t wait for a response as the back door slammed shut behind her.
