Drake
She said she was staying, that she really was staying, but why do I feel happy to be around her? Why do I feel like I have felt this kind of connection before, it can't be right? Emily is long gone, and there is no way she could be the Alpha of the Lycan pack.
I paced around my room in confusion, feeling lost and unsure of what to do or how to hold myself together.
"I told you not to reject our mate, but you are too stubborn and now You keep thinking about her, making me feel the darkness and worries. If you can't figure things out on your own, then let me take control," Derek's voice echoed in my mind.
Listening to Derek's words, I realized that I had been holding onto anger ever since I drove Emily out of the castle and turned her away. She was a victim, someone who brought shame upon herself, but that's all in the past now. Perhaps fate is offering me a second chance, and maybe Alpha Emily could be my second chance mate.
As I spoke those words, my heart began to beat a bit faster, and I felt like I was on the verge of losing control. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to calm myself down and relax.
"It's okay. Let me take over. If you can't control your emotions, I can do that for you," Derek's reassuring words resonated within me.
I didn't reply back to Derek; I knew he had been searching for a way to take control, and the last time I allowed him to do so was the worst day of my life as an Alpha.
As I opened my eyes with anger, I yelled loudly, "Moses!"
I felt a strong need to learn more about Alpha Emily; I really wanted to understand how she became an Alpha and what her true nature was. I didn't know why I was feeling this way, but I felt like I needed to make sure my feelings were right.
The door of my room opened, and I saw my beta walk in. I took a deep breath as he bowed, then I stared at him, trying to calm my emotions as I spoke.
"I want you to do a task for me, and I don't want you to fail. If you can gather the necessary information I need, I will reward you and ensure you have more respect," I instructed.
I could see the excitement on his face as I walked over to my bed, sat down, and looked up at him.
"I want you to find out who Alpha Emily really is. I want you to learn more about her and how she managed to become the Alpha of the Lycan pack. From what I know, the Alpha of the Lycan pack was Alpha Demon, and now I've just discovered it's a female with different personalities. I want you to delve into the details and make sure you don't fail me." My voice was firm and determined as I laid out the task for him, emphasizing the importance of his mission.
He bowed to me, and I saw those piercing green eyes staring at me intently.
"My Alpha, I will do whatever it takes to make sure that I provide you with the information you seek. Please, if you don't mind, I will head out now," he said earnestly.
I nodded in acknowledgment as I watched him leave, hoping that I was making the right decision.
"Nice move, Drake. Instead of being the Alpha, you are being a spy. If you truly believe she is our second chance mate, then let me take over, and I will find out myself. Locking me up is not the right thing to do. I can do a little digging, and trust me, you will get all the answers you need," Derek's voice echoed in my mind.
I chuckled softly, listening to the words of my wolf Derek. Did he think I was a fool or something? His suggestion made me ponder for a moment. I knew I would find out one way or another, uncovering the reason why these persistent feelings kept resurfacing.
Eventually, I decided it was best to quietly observe and see what she was up to. I enjoyed being in her presence and felt a sense of happiness whenever I was near her. If this was the only way for me to find happiness, then so be it. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of confusion. Why did she seem to despise the Crimson Pack so much? Just by looking at her face, I could sense her animosity towards me, as if she hated everything about me.
Feeling lost and uncertain about what to do next, I realized I needed to confront Lia. I couldn't believe the foolish mistake I had made by marrying her as my Luna. Now, I was filled with regret and longing to turn back time.
"I think it's best that you stop overthinking. The more you dwell on it, the angrier you make me with your stubborn thoughts. Since you refused to let me take over, you're just withering away inside. But I will make sure we find our Rejected Mate and bring her back. Only her presence makes me truly happy, unlike the Lycan Alpha. This time, I will ensure you don't make any mistakes," Derek's voice echoed in my mind as I walked out of the room.
As I opened the door, a ball rolled to a stop right in front of me. I picked it up and saw a young boy approaching.
"Alpha, can I have the ball, please?" he asked politely.
I looked at him for a moment, feeling a strange connection. Something about him made me feel like he was similar to me. Could this be Alpha Emily's child? In that moment, I wished that he was my son. I smiled softly and handed him the ball. He took it with a smile and turned to run, only to accidentally bump into Lia.
"Watch where you're going! This is not a Lycan play area!" Lia scolded the boy, pushing him to the floor in anger.
I felt a surge of anger rising within me. Before I could react, Alpha Emily swiftly moved towards Lia and landed a slap on her face. The sound of the impact echoed in the room, leaving a tense silence in its wake.
