The next day.

After getting up and washing up, Annabelle called Callan first thing in the morning.

After a few rings, a deep male voice answered on the other end.

"Hello?"

Annabelle pursed her lips. "Mr. Clay, I'd like to take half a day off today."

Callan's voice was indifferent. "What's the reason for the leave?"

Annabelle frowned. "I have some personal matters to attend to, and it's not convenient for me to discuss the details."

"So there's no reason?"

Annabelle felt a headache coming on, as she always thought Callan was her nemesis.

Callan's voice continued.

"You're often late and leave early, and today you surprisingly want to inform me."

His tone was cold, with a hint of mockery.

Annabelle snorted, "So, are you approving my leave?"

She made up her mind that if Callan gave her a hard time, she would just skip work for half a day.
