"Let's get started with work now. Shall we?" prof ushered us to our table, where we took out our working ipads and got to work.
We were twenty minutes into our research and we have not overcome the shock we had on this discoverey. This type of panther was of a different breed and mostly found in the Amazon. They were not really known and were mostly believed to be extinct as it was last spotted some two hundred years ago.
"So prof how did you know it w0- as two hundred years of age? cause generally we all know that panthers life span is about twenty years" I questioned looking up from the tablet to show him I was intrigued. "What gave away that fact?"
"All right kiddos, gather round let me spill some sweet juice."
I shaked my at his choice of grammar, while we Gathered beside him, waiting for him to explain.
"Generally we know that black panthers are also known as black leopards and their life span is between seventeen-twenty years." He looked around to make sure we were all paying attention.
"I did some personal research and analysis on the bone before I called you guys in and what I found was exquisite, something we have never seen before." he said, getting an x-ray film from his office.
"In a normal x-ray film, if you don't look closely, you will be looking at a normal animal bone just like i first did, but I was well, not satisfied with the result i got, i felt something was off so i conducted another radiograph scan on it and found some foreign dead cells at the end of the bone, one that has never been seen in any animal analysis conducted before." One could hear the excited and shocked gasp everyone let out from a mile away.
"Yeah, I was in that state too." Prof. talked about our expression with an animated hand gesture. "I had an analysis done on the cell and found out they were regenerative cells which help to slow down aging and if we remember clearly during the research it says that the last time one was seen, was some two hundred years ag…" Carl raised his to ask a question, cutting him off.
"Sir, if this panther is as you said it is, that means something in it produces that particular cell allowing it to live that long? He looked to Dr. Harrison for clarification.
"Yes Carl, I was just about to say that. The people who found the bone say they are extinct but my gut tells me otherwise, so I called for this meet up, for all of us to put efforts together to digger deeper and find out more information and have more knowledge about this.
"Wow this is huge and so unreal to believe." i for will agree with Simran on the latter part of her sentence, this news is and sounds so unreal to ears.
would like to have a talk with the higher-ups to see if we can venture out more in regards to this topic, probaly go to the site it is mostly seen which we already know as the rain forest in Brazil."
"Yes sir, I agree with that thought, since we already know that this species is from the Amazon, it is better to go and explore see if there is more to it than what we have just been told." Ella and Sharon voiced out sounding ecstatic at the possible new trip we would be making.
"Well, you guys should continue, while I go meet the higher-ups and let them know about the situation. If things work out the way I envisioned it, it could be a great hit for us." He said as he left the lab.
Picking up the tab, I decided to do some personal research of my own since everyone dispersed into groups of two to do theirs.
"I really do hope they agree to the request." Sharon said, looking at Ella and the others as they nodded in response.
I wasn't too big on traveling So I didn't bother answering. Looking down at the screen, I click on the picture of the panther. The yellowish gold eyes I was staring at on the screen felt so familiar. They looked similar, like i had seen them before, but where? I questioned as i let my thoughts fly.
As I continued scrolling through the pictures, I came across a picture of the Amazonite stone.
It was beautiful and I had a feeling I had seen it somewhere before.
As i looked at it intently, my hands reached unconsciously and touched the chain on my wrist to play with my pendant as i normally do when lost in thought or nervous. Glancing at it, I saw the same stone in the picture on the bangle and that was when it clicked.
"Now i know why you looked familiar."I said aloud, making the others look at me with raised eyebrows.
"Nothing, just talking to myself." I told them not willing to delve into the research I just made with them.
My neckpiece had the same stone, the same shine and all. They are the same thing and there is no mistaking that.
"Is there a possibility that I have connections to this?" I thought to myself as u have always wondered what my origin were, who my parents were and why they abandoned me, making me fend for myself alone.
I am not sure at this point what to think. It really could be nothing more than a coincidence that I had this with me and i was just overthinking this all thing, it could also be that whoever left me with this bangle wanted me to remember my origin and find them.
I made up my mind to follow them for the expedition after these known discoveries as I for one wanted to find out if I was really connected to this place, so i turned to look at my teamates.
"I am going on the trip."
