IVAN POV
I pushed open the huge doors of the castle, racing into the night air as I ran to the courtyard. I had heard the news of my wife's arrival which made my heart skip a beat. Without a second thought, I rushed out of the castle, my feet pounding against the cold stone floors. I saw her being cradled in the arms of her sister, and my biggest fears were confirmed.
I ignored Drago the dragon Tag'arkh had ridden, the dragon I had claimed I had killed for the sake of my people hurting Arianne in the process. I had made Tag'arkh promise to keep it away from Arianne and that she would never use it. But the situation must have been dire and I could see that.
