Parents' Day II

Human World, Japan, Kuoh.

While the students in the class were in an uproar because of the bomb Serafall just dropped, she somehow managed to slip out of the crowd rushing toward James for his autograph. As James stood blankly among his classmates, Serafall was able to set up a number of hidden cameras. All of which were pointed at her younger sister, Sona.

After a few minutes, Serafall was finished, and the teacher managed to get the class to calm down. Then, as usual, the old man who taught English during the first period, began his lesson. Not concerned with all the parents and family members in the back of the classroom, he showed that he was an exemplary educator and taught his class in an easy to understand and interesting way.

While the English class was in session, Sirzechs also moved around the back of the class trying to get the best angle for the pictures of Rias he was taking with his high-end DSLR camera. He found himself upset with the teacher by the end of the class, though. Why? Because Rias was not called on to read or answer any questions a single time.

'This foolish man has no understanding of what is good for his class.' Sirzechs thought as he watched the English teacher leave the classroom after the bell rang. 'I'll advise Father to relieve him of his duties once I return to the Underworld.'

*Smack!*

Before the next teacher entered the classroom, Sirzechs was suddenly slapped in the back of his head by Venelana with a hand coated in demonic energy. Rubbing the back of his head, he looked at his mother in confusion. Before he could verbalize the question in his heart, Venelana answered it.

"I don't know what you were thinking, but I get the feeling it was something stupid." Venelana said sternly. "I know how much you dote on your sister. But I feel like whatever you were thinking would take it too far."

Hearing what his mother had to say, Sirzechs could only stare at her blankly. Then, as if he were a rebellious teenager, he whined about the world's unfairness.

"How could you say having him fired for not calling on Ria-Tan is something stupid?" Sirzechs asked, unable to see what was wrong with his line of thinking. "Allowing Ria-Tan to be an example for her peers is what any good educator would do."

Hearing that, Leona, Rhea, Dante, and Grayfia looked at Sirzechs as if he were a different species than they are; while Venelana only shook her head at her son's foolish words at the same time, Serafall nodded her head emphatically as she spoke.

"Sirzechs-Chan is right." Serafall said in a serious tone. "He just made a mistake with the name. What he meant to say is So-Tan, not Ria-Tan."

Once again, the group of devils stared at a top tier god-class sis-con. Then as if they had discussed it beforehand, they all simultaneously stepped away from the two irredeemable sis-cons and pretended that they did not know them.

Meanwhile, Rias and Sona were flushed red in embarrassment. At first Rias was happy that Venelana had stopped Sirzechs from doing whatever it was that he was thinking. Unfortunately for her, Venelana called his idea stupid. That of course, led to his stupid idea being mentioned aloud and dragging Sona into this embarrassing situation.

"I can't believe this is still happening even with Mother here." Rias said as she covered her face with her hands.

"Why is she even here?" Sona said to herself in a forlorn tone. "I swore Mother and Father to secrecy, and I made sure to never leave any proof of Parents' Day, anywhere."

Seeing their older siblings' actions, the rest of the students and parents could only look at Rias and Sona with pity. At the same time, they had to do everything in their power to not laugh at the unfortunate girls.

Eventually, the next teacher, a middle-aged woman who teaches Japanese walked into the room. Noticing the awkward atmosphere, she scanned the room for a moment. After seeing Rias and Sona and their embarrassed expressions she knew exactly what was going on. Smiling brightly as she walked toward the lectern, she decided she would call on both Rias and Sona at least once to see what would come of it.

And like that, three more periods came and went until the lunch break finally arrived. Before he could be swarmed by the students looking for his autograph once again, James jumped up from his seat, ran to the back of the classroom, grabbed his mother by the hand, and dragged her out of the classroom at the fastest speed humans could ever attain through training.

"Mom, let's go!" James said with feigned excitement in his tone. "I"M really hungry and the cafeteria fills up quickly."

As James and Leona left the room, everyone else stared at them blankly. Then, Rias, Sona, Akeno, Tsubaki, Reya, and Flora laughed at the panicked actions James took. That laughter did not last long, however.

"Come on, So-Tan, let's go have lunch." Serafall said as she wrapped her arms around Sona. "Jay-Kun said that the cafeteria fills up quick, right?"

Elder Sister, would you please let go?" Sona said in an embarrassed tone.

"Why?" Serafall asked while tilting her head in confusion. "Aren't we gonna have lunch together?"

"Please, could you just let me go first?" Sona said in a pleading tone.

Hearing her sister's tone, Serafall let her go as asked. As soon as she did, however, Sona stood to her feet and shouted.

"I can't take this anymore!"

With tears in her eyes, Sona bolted from the room at speeds comparable to James. Not ready for her sister's escape, Serafall stood blankly as she watched Sona run away. Then, after a few seconds, Serafall chased after Sona.

"So-Tan, wait for me!" Serafall shouted as she did her best to chase after Sona.

Everyone else in thelassroom could only watch Sona run in embarrassment as they felt bad for her. At the same time, used to the actions of the two Sitri sisters, Rias, Akeno, Tsubaki, Reya, and Flora calmly packed up their school supplies and prepared to also go to the cafeteria for lunch.

"Girls, would you mind if we joined you for lunch?" Venelana asked as she approached the five remaining girls with a smile.

The other girls nodded and returned the smile to signify that they were fine with it. However, Rias kept Venelana between herself and Sirzechs so that he would not be able to embarrass her as easily during lunch. Seeing Rias actions, Sirzechs visibly deflated. Sympathizing with Rias, Grayfia decided not to console her husband. Instead, in a cold tone she spoke a very simple sentence.

"You deserve it." Grayfia said in a cold tone.

Hearing that, Sirzechs was even more confused than before. Unfortunately, Flora was unable to join them for lunch as she already had plans to show her parents around the school during the lunch break. Alon the way to the cafeteria, the group talked about what happened during the classes and asked questions about their time in Kuoh Academy. They also laughed about some of the funnier things that happened during the morning classes. For example, when Venelana first slapped Sirzechs. Or when Venelana slapped him for cheering. Or when Venelana slapped him for pulling out a large banner that had a picture of Rias on it.

"Why do all the funny stories you have to talk about revolve around me getting slapped?" Sirzechs asked in irritation.

Seeing the expression Sirzechs was making caused everyone present to laugh even harder. Eventually, Rias received a phone call. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she saw that it was from James. Then, she quickly answered the call.

"Hi, James, what's up?" Rias asked as she answered the phone.

"{Mom and I are at the MMA club.}" James replied. "{We already picked up enough lunch for everyone, so you should all come here.}"

"Okay, I'll tell everyone else." Rias replied happily. "Flora and her parents are touring the school, though."

"{I know, she told me about it the other day.}" James replied. "{If you remember, Flora's parents were unable to come to Parents' Day for the last two years.}"

"Oh, yeah, that's right." Rias replied. "Well, we'll be there soon."

After ending the call, Rias relayed the message from James. Then, they all headed toward the MMA club to have lunch with James and Leona. After a few minutes, they arrived at the MMA Club. After entering, they noticed that Sona had already joined them and was angrily shouting.

"Auntie Leona, how could you do this to me?" Sona shouted unhappily.

"Because I thought it would be funny." Leona replied with a smile. "And, as it turns out, it was."

"This time you were in the wrong though, Mom." James said in as stern a tone as he could muster while trying to hold back his own laughter. "Because of what you did, now I'll be hounded by the fans of all my manga."

"I'll admit, that was a bit outside of my calculations." Leona said with a slight frown. Then, she quickly changed her expression back to her usual mischievous smile and continued. "Oh well, what's done is done."

Hearing this conversation, the new arrivals were a bit confused.

"Leona, what is Sona so angry about?" Rhea asked curiously.

"Oh, she's mad because I'm the one who leaked when Parents's Day would be." Leona said casually. "It was when we were drinking at the Gremory Estate, I called Serafall secretly and just let her listen in on our conversation."

Venelana, Rhea, and Grayfia were all surprised to hear that Leona had done something so devious.

'We're the pure-blood devils, right?' the three of them thought to themselves. 'Why does she seem like more of a devil we are.'

While thinking that, they also understood why James was also reprimanding his mother, poorly. Because of what she had done, his peaceful days at school were most likely over. Luckily, James did not seem too bothered by it.

"Anyway, let's sit down and eat." Leona said as she patted Sona on the shoulder. "You'll feel better with a full tummy."

And with that everyone sat down and ate. As they ate, they discussed the peace treaty and what everyone was expected to do while it was going on. Then, after they had finished eating, they decided to walk around for a while before the parents had to leave. As they walked through the front entrance of the school building, they came across a large crowd of students. Wondering what was going on, they listened to the conversations around them.

"There's a black-haired Sailor Moon doing a photo shoot up ahead." A first-year boy said.

"Really?" A first-year girl replied. "Come on, we gotta check it out."

"Hey, wait for me!" The first-year boy exclaimed as he followed the excited girl.

Hearing that, the group exchanged glances before all their gazes landed on Sona, who was currently steaming with anger.

"Everyone! Break it up!" Sona shouted angrily. "Anyone still here after one minute will be escorted to the Student Council Office to discuss their punishment.

"*Whistle* Oh, man, Sona's pissed." Leona said in mock amazement.

"Mom, that's not gonna work this time." James said while smiling at his mother. "Everyone here knows that you're at least indirectly responsible for this."

"Oh, come on!" Leona said, throwing her hands up. "How was I supposed to know something like this would happen?"

Instead of answering, everyone just stared at how Shameless Leona could be when she put her mind to it. Feeling the stares from the rest of the group, Leona smiled sheepishly. Then, she spoke once again.

"Okay, I admit it." Leona said while twirling her bang around her finger. "Maybe I might have gone a little too far this time."

"Maybe...? Might...?" The rest of the group asked in unison.

"Yeah, there's a slight possibility." Leona said with an unsure expression on her face.

Deciding it was best for their mental health to just let it go, they all turned away from Leona. Seeing that her plan worked, Leona smiled triumphantly. Until she saw James' phone camera pointed at her from his back pocket.

'Damn, he has evidence that I was pretending, now.' Leona said as she stared into the lens of the camera. 'I know he won't use it to blackmail me, but he's gonna hold this over me for a long time after my actions indirectly exposed his identity as Mangetsu-Sensei.'

After a minute, the crowd had broken up. A few minutes later, Sona was also able to convince Serafall to leave. Eventfully, the rest of the Parents' Day guests also left. As the guests left, James decided to accompany his mother to the school gate. After sending her off, James turned to the right side of the gate and saw a young man near his age observing him closely.

"[Partner, that's him.]" Ddraig said with a growl. "[That's the current host of The White One.]"

Hearing that, James also observed the young man before him. What he saw was a handsome, hazel-eyed, silver-haired young man wearing a dark green V-neck shirt with a high-collared black leather jacket over it. He also wore burgundy jeans with a silver chain drooping down over them and black leather chaps with three bands encircling his right calf, and black shoes with black buckles.

After observing the host of Albian, James only had one thought in his mind.

'Damn, he's kinda short, isn't he?' James thought to himself. 5'6" (1.68 m) at most. Oh, and he's a half-devil. I wonder if this is the first time the two Celestial Dragons were both half-devils? And why the hell is he dressed like such a douchebag? He looks like aboy band reject fromteh late 90's.'

"I thought you would be more hostile after seeing me near your school." The White Dragon Emperor said with a smile.

"Nah, you're not leaking any hostility either." James said nonchalantly

Even though James could tell the young man in front of him was strong, he still had no interest in fighting him. Not right now at least.

"Besides, this would be a horrible place for the both of us to start a fight." James said with a battle hungry grin. "I'm sure someone would jump in to stop us right away."

As James finished speaking, he looked off into the distance. In the direction he was looking, he could feel the holy power of a twelve-winged fallen angel.

"I guess the Governor-General is already in Kuoh." James said with a shrug. Then, he turned his attention back to the silver-haired young man. "Hey, what should I call you? White Dragon Emperor is too long."

"Haha. You can call me Vali. I'm not particularly fond of my last name so don't ask about it." Vali said with a wide smile on his face. "And you're James Alaverus, right?"

"That's right." James replied with a nod. "Well, Vali, I look forward to the next time I see you. Hopefully, we'll get to have a good fight at that time."

"One can only hope." Vali replied with a smile.

After that, both young men turned away simultaneously and went on with their own business. After walking through the Kuoh Academy gates, James joined the students returning to their classrooms to attend afternoon classes. After the final bell rang, everyone prepared to either go home or attend their club activities. However, the Occult Research Club, Student Council, and MMA Club were all on hiatus for the day. Which made sense, since all the devil members of those clubs had to prepare for the peace treaty signing that would happen later that night.

I had fun writing this chapter. This is the first of two.
