The new beginning

HUNDREDS OF YEARS LATER

A strange occurence was happening at the palace in two different lands. Dahomey and Eritrea. It was time for the queens of the two different lands to put to bed. Everything surrounding the palace was strangely bright. From the trees, to the carriages. It looked like a light show.

The moon looked as if it was split into half. It had never happened in all of history. There were silver lights dancing around the palace and it looked as if they were protecting the palace. Everything was illuminated with light.

The clouds were coming together and if a person took a closer look, the words 'THE TIME HAS COME' were hanging boldly in the skies. Suddenly the silver light burst forth from inside the palace and the cry of a baby was heard. In one palace, it was a boy and in the other, it was a girl. People were celebrating with the king and queen in both lands. A lot of people said the children were special because they were born under strange circumstances. In Dahomey, the girl was named Alexia and in Eritrea, the boy was named Ivan. The king and queen of Eritrea ordered a feast and everyone ate and drank till they were full. People from across different lands came to celebrate with them and a lot of gifts were given to the king and queen. There were different entertainments and people were happy. The birth of the child somehow made them feel as if something good was to happen in the near future.

The king and queen of Dahomey were in their chamber with a baby girl in hand. The queen looked at her daughter lovingly with sad eyes" My husband, I am sorry I cannot stay with you and our daughter. Please promise me you will take care of her"

The king looked worried" What are you saying? We are going to take care of the child together. Nothing will happen to you. You are scaring me.....". He was still talking when he realized that there was no movement from his wife's side. He walked towards her and there was a smile on her face. Her eyes were closed. The king knew his wife was gone. He calmly took his daughter outside. No matter how sad he was, a king was never meant to show his weak side. He waved his guard over

"Announce that the queen has gone to rest far away from here" he said calmly

Later that day, news that shook everyone was released. THE QUEEN OF DAHOMEY WAS DEAD!

No one expected that immediately after the good news there was bad news. The queen's death was a sad thing for a lot of people. she was always kind and loving. But death never favors anyone.

In Eritrea, news had reached that the queen of Dahomey was dead. The king decided he would go and give his condolences alone since the queen was still weak. He went to he and his queen's chamber and his wife looked worried.

He walked up to her and asked warmly "What is wrong?"

The queen looked up and said" I am afraid our child is a little weak. For what we are, he is too weak"

The king caressed his son's cheek lovingly "Incase of anything, we won't tell him what we are until we see he has began to develop. I am going to Dahomey. The queen is dead".

"The queen is dead?" Queen Arabella asked shocked

"Hmm..so I have to go and pay them a visit" the king replied

"Okay. Come back safely" queen Arabella tensely said

The king nodded and left.

Years later, prince Ivan and princess Alexia had grown up into fine teenagers. They were already 18
