Mr Esteban was already in the hallway waiting for them, he has impatiently checked his wristwatch twice. Just when he was about to send Gilly upstairs again, he saw her them coming down from the stairs she looked really beautiful with her long hair that fell to the side of her shoulders. He could see why Rudolph wasn't willing to let her go.
They decided to take the black limited edition Lexus and drive down to the hospital.
Rudolph wasn't sure Amy was going to come. After all, he didn't want the very child that's about to save his life and she had no reason whatsoever to be here.
No sooner than these thoughts filled his head he saw his father an elegant young woman and a little boy. But there was someone else with them. He was dressed formally wearing a black suit a white shirt and a matching tie.
They slowly walked to his bedside. Amy looked at Rudolph, his face was pale. If death had a face, it would be his at the moment. Her heart sank, she still loved him when after all these years. Despite having him for being a coward he was still the man she was willing to give it all away for.
His Father finally spoke up.
"This is the lawyer that would be officiating your wedding. I always keep my word. he continued
" Amy had demanded a wedding between you two before Hayden could donate his marrow to you."
Hayden slightly nodded his head.
"What about Stephanie? Father hasn't given up on Stephanie and so has he."
He thought.
The lawyer brought out the necessary documentation.
Amy Rice please sign here. She collected the pen from the lawyer and penned down her signature.
He collected the document from her and carefully placed the own in Rudolph's hands, he managed to sign at the bottom of the document he then handed over the marriage certificate to Mr Esteban and gave a copy to Amy. He notified the attending doctor that his grandson was here. He had been a match, he would have given his Son his bone marrow but he was unable to because he had an underlying illness.
Rudolph's mother had died 3 years back from cancer hence Hayden had been the only option. The doctors ran a profile on Hayden and Rudolph, it was a match. They prepared Hayden for the procedure and transferred his bone marrow to his father.
The surgery was done the next day and in 5 days Rudolph was fit to go home.
Amy had been in the house trying to get accustomed to it and how they operated.
She had several sightings of some people she felt was dangerous but she was Mrs Esteban now. The missus of the house. No one would dare hurt her at least so she thought.
The day Rudolph was to be discharged she had decided to go to the hospital to bring him back home. They had a lot of things to discuss but she had to act as a wife firstly. And of course, she cared about him.
It was a Saturday morning the weather was quite dull. She slipped into her bathtub and took a shower. She applied some moisturiser on her body and face cream on her face. She wanted to look as casual as possible. She wore blue jean and a black T-shirt from the closet and packed her hair into a ponytail.
She had Gilly watch over Hayden while she was away. She took the small Toyota Camry. The driver had offered to drive her but she wanted to drive herself. She put on ger google map as she wasn't familiar with the route to the hospital from her house. She ignited the car and drove off. She just wanted to see him and maybe bring him back home if he was fully ready to leave.
She stopped by the front of the hospital. The map was so accurate. She hadn't even experienced ant hurdle coming down here. It was a smooth ride down. The hospital was a 5 storey building made up of glass walls on the exterior. One look at it, one could tell that it was damn expensive, she pushed the huge glass door open and took the elevator to the 4th floor where the ICU was. She stopped by the nurse station and asked to see Rudolph Esteban
"Who are you, ma'am?" The nurse asked politely
i am Mrs Esteban she replied casually
"Oh okay, this way please" she stood a few distances from the glass door that led to his room. She saw a woman with fine blond hair sitting at his bedside.
She has said something that made Rudolph laugh heartily. She was here to pick up her husband and she was in for a big surprise. They looked like a couple and there was something about the way he looked at her. She wasn't prepared for this. She turned back and left the hospital, without seeing him. Rudolph was unaware of her visit
That evening Rudolph arrived home. He'd been bedridden for almost a month. It was good to be finally back. Dinner was served and they all sat at the dining table. Rudolph buried his head in the bowl of stew trying to avoid Amy's eyes. She was staring daggers at him. He knew she was angry but never thought she'd be this angry. She hadn't even been like this when she came to the hospital, he was going to try to talk to her today and clarify things.
Maybe tell her about Stephanie.
