As Daisy processed Carissa's words, a stunned silence fell upon the other end of the line. Finally, she spoke, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Carissa, are you serious? I thought you two had parted ways for the better!"
"What do you mean by that? We still hold strong feelings for each other..." Carissa's voice trailed off sheepishly.
"Are you sure about David?" Daisy inquired skeptically.
"Hey, I'm a hundred percent sure after what transpired between us today. David still loves me just as madly as he did six years ago. He apologized and proposed that we start dating."
"So, you agreed?" Daisy pressed, seeking confirmation.
"Yes. It was like a wish came true at that moment." Carissa's voice was filled with excitement and elation.
"You agreed so quickly without clarifying things?" Daisy's surprise was palpable.
