Burning feelings 

As tears welled up in her eyes, Carissa struggled to hold them back, witnessing how deeply his animosity towards her had taken root.

How could he have changed so drastically? Was this the same David she had once known and loved? He looked the same but different. 

She couldn't fathom that he would harbor such intense resentment towards her. Their unexpected reunion had shattered her hopes of reigniting their past connection.

Unable to contain her emotions any longer, she let the tears flow freely, hastily wiping them away as she composed herself.

"I can't believe you've become this person," she said, her voice quivering with emotion. "The David I knew wouldn't wish for my disappearance from this world."

"Well, believe what you want, because I'm not that same David anymore," he retorted coldly. "I've become someone who won't rest until you've suffered for your deceits."
