THE SOLUTION

was thrown into the room and locked up and I sat down, I wept till I slept off, I only woke up to the sound of someone’s feet and I opened my eyes and quickly sit up and I looked up and I saw Kunle standing I front of me glaring daggers at me and I look down and start weeping and I heard him call someone.

Mariam! He yells and I felt he wanted to punish me, my head began to think series of things.

I imagined being whipped, I imagined being tortured with an iron and I was weeping profusely already and Kunle’s voice brought me back from my imagination.

“ Why are you shedding crocodile tears? “Serve her “and that was when I noticed that food was brought for me, I just remembered I haven’t eaten since morning and the aroma of that food got me hungry but something got me scared again, maybe the food has been poisoned and I quickly said.

“ I am fine, I am not hungry again” I said.

“ Why, I know you haven’t eaten since morning that is why I told Mariam to bring some food for you and you Mariam I am assigning you to her, whenever the food is cooked make sure you serve her” he says.

“Yes sir “ Mariam replied.

“ Eat because you will need lots of energy to answer my questions” he says. “ If you tell me the truth I will let you go but if you keep lying you will remain here” he says and takes his leave and he locks the door again.

From how he spoke to Mariam I knew the food wasn’t poison.

Well I really like food, when grandma was alive I get to eat a lot but since she died I have little access to the kitchen because I and other maids don’t get along well.

In fact this is the first time I forgot that I haven't eaten and I didn't fill it until the aroma of the food got into my nostrils but now that I am hungry nothing can stop me from eating then I can think of my punishment later.

I walk to the food and I smile at the sight of what I saw, my favourite food, Fried rice and jolof rice, salad and chicken, my brain went blank and I wasn't thinking of anything again that the food in front of me, I quickly pick up the food from the tray and that was when I looked round where was, A big luxury room with a king sized bed, the room well furnished and decorated and I dropped the food, I touch the paintings on the wall, I loved the paintings, there was even a dinning and I totally forgot I was under interrogation, I took the food to the dinning, I ate and drank the juice and water put by the side of my food and I went to take my birth and I went to lie on the king size bed and before I know it I doze off.

After about God knows how many minutes or hours I slept, I opened my eyes but was enjoying my sleep and I turn around again and I heard his voice.

“ Sleeping in trouble, you must be enjoying that bed “ Kunle says and I opened my eyes and quickly sit up, he and I quickly looked down as my eyes met with his eyes, I could see the anger on his face behind it I could read pain and heartbreak.

When I told them to lock Shade up, I had gone to see my parent and when I got there party members were there, yeah, I know they were going to scold me, it's all fine if they can find a solution to this mess.

I greeted everyone according to the Yoruba tradition because all of the key party members are of my parent age.

Actually this position was supposed to go to my parents but my parents are tired of trying to be a candidate for a state and always end up losing to the opposition party and the party feel that I am younger that the people will prefer a younger man in his late twenties and it is also something new in the political history of my state that someone as young as me is a gubernatorial candidate.

And the truth is the party has become popular due to me being their gubernatorial candidate and now that I am close to making that history a sex tape that only God knows how it was planned got me into mess, the worst part of it was that it looks like I was forcing Shade and our body was live on Internet although it has been taken down but what about those who have downloaded it.

After greeting them I could see them all staring at me and I know they want to hear from me.

“ I didn't do that live coverage, I  didn't know how it happened “ I said standing in front of them.

“ Sit down” the party chairman says. “ Afterall the deed has been done and before we go on campaign rally in three days time we need to find a solution to this mess” Party Chairman says.

“ We have our technical adviser for the party here and we have all concluded that the solution he provided to us is what we would use in winning back the people to our party” The party Chairman says and I nod my head.

“ So what is the solution? I asked.

“ The solution I provides is that you should marry the girl and........ I didn't even let him further before cutting him shut.

“ That's not going to work because I have a fiancee whom I love very much and I cannot trade her for anything in this world, so please Mr technical adviser another solution would do” I said.

“ Can you shut that your mouth?! My Dad yelled out.” When you know you loved your Fiancee so much why did you hooked up with another girl that you go as far as filming yourself, you are now a different person from any guy out there that could just film himself anyhow” My dad yelled.

“ I didn't know how all of that happen Dad” I snapped.

“ Mr technical adviser, is that the only solution you have provided? He nods his head.

“ Well sorry, it's not going to work with me, I am so sorry, I have a lot to do” I said and stood up.
