SHE IS PREGNANT

“ What’s going on here? Kunle mom  asked and she walk past the doctor and I was trying to struggle myself to sit and Kunle uses his places his hand on me that I should lie down.

I lie down and his mom eye lashed me and hissed and she chuckles.

“ I hope it’s not what I am thinking? I just hope it’s not it and it better not be because if it is you won’t like yourself” she says and she sits on one of the sofa, crosses her leg.

“ Mom please, Can we not start with all of this drama here ? Kunle said and I slowly held his hand and I motioned him not to talk.

“ You won’t shut me up for this girl and I your mother is the one being dramatic! Just because of this girl?! Son! I can see that since this girl came into this house you are always tackling me because of this girl! Kunle’s mom said .

“ Mom please don’t bring her into our issue! We have always have issues before she arrive into this house…….he was about to speak to her again, I quickly tighten my hand against his wrist.

“ Please” I whisper. 

He nods his head and I said . “ Thank you”.

He raises his head to look at the doctor .

“ Please come and run the test on her “ Kunle says.

The doctor tested with his stethoscope, he open my eyeball and the doctor took my blood for test.

“ I will be back but once the result is out, I will give you a call for the result” the doctor says .

“ Alright, I will be expecting your call” I said.

“Yes sir” 

Kunle uses his hand to caress my head and he gave me a smile.

“You will be fine” Kunle says to me.

“Thank you” I reply and I heard his mom hissed and she stood up.

“Son enough of your lovey dovey with that girl, she isn’t the first person that will fall sick, anyways I have come to talk to you concerning the so call fake ………..” she look at me and Eyelashes me. “wedding introduction, so can we start making arrangements” she said.

“Okay mom” he says. He looks back at me.

“I’ll be back soon” he says.

“Son, we have so much to discuss, so you don’t need to come back here, she should deal with it and she can call some of the maids to help her” she says and pulls her son hands and they walk out of the door.

My mind went back to our one night stand and I flash back to me vomiting the contraceptive and I became scared , I manage to stand up and shut my door , I go to stand in front of the mirror and raise my dress up to look at my tummy.

“Oh, God! I don’t want to be pregnant, God please help me or else Kunle’s mom will pull down this building on me and I don’t know if Kunle wants to have a baby and I don’t even want to drag him to having a baby and I don’t want to be a babymama” I said to myself.

KUNLE.

I and my mom walk to my office and I went to sit at the lounge in my office and my mom places her handbag on my desk and she was glaring daggers at me and she rests her back my desk, tapping her feet on the floor.

“Mom, please sit, so that we can discuss” I said, my mom hissed and she motion me with the  stop sign with her hand.

“We had an agreement that everything about this relationship is fake but now I am seeing you and that girl behave like husband and wife! Tell me son what is going on?!

“I don’t understand what you are talking about? I said.

“Come on don’t play some dumbass game with me, son! Listen whatever you are currently having with that girl has to stop right now and that pregnancy in her has to be get rid off” she says.

“Pregnancy?! I stare at my mom

“ Pregnant?she just ill and nothing more? I said.

“When I see a pregnant girl or woman,I know it” my mom says  and my phone rings and it was the doctor.

“She asked me of contraceptive the second day she got here because of that one night stand and I got it for her myself” I said.

“Wow! What a clever girl” my mom says with her hands folded across her chest and she walks majestically closer to me .

“Oh son! You are not as smart as your father, your father is so smart that you can hardly play him” she goes to sit down on the sofa and she crossed her leg. “How do you think your father survived in politics? My mom asked.  “because he was smart” she says. Uhm , can you call me Bassey to tell him to tell the butler to get me a glass of wine because I need to just cool down myself with something right now because you just messed up by getting that girl pregnant” her mom says.

“Mom please all of this is just insinuation and why do you hate Shade so much? I asked and walk towards my intercom and I dial his number.

“tell the butler to get mom Domaine Leroy chambertin” he says.

“NO, moet nicklair is okay” my mom says.

“Okay, Tell the butler Moet Niclaire” I said and hang the call.

“Mommy, tell me why you are always insinuating and also dislike this girl so much? I asked again.

“Because she is nothing than an opportunist, if you are not smart I am and I won’t let her ruin you, anyways please let’s plan on how to get rid of what she is carrying inside of her” my mom says and the butler comes in with a wine and glass inside the tray and I tell him to go and serve my mom.

“Mom she is not pregnant please and she is not an opportunist” I said and she sips her wine and she chuckles while my cellphone rings and it was a call from the doctor.

” she is just an opportunist you don’t have to be blinded by her fake love, what else could she want than your money isn’t that why she sneak into your hotel room?

“ mom please stop isinuating , she isn’t pregnant “ I said.

” And I do not want to find out she is pregnant “ she says firmly. “ You have a wife to be and that person is Juliana because I won’t let you ruin this chance of us having the power in our family! Do you know how many years it took us to get to this level, you were still a teen and then no one always cast their vote for us then, we get ten votes highest and now that we have the chance you want to ruin it by falling for some village whore! I won’t let that happen” mom says raising her voice.

” mom please you are raising your voice” I said calmly.

” You don’t have to tell me that son I know I am raising my voice and I am raising it on you my son so that you will harken your my voice because you won’t ruin this opportunity for I and your Dad” she says gulping down her wine at once and I sigh.

my phone rang and it was the doctor.

Hello” I sad over the phone.

” Hello sir “ I replied.

“Sir congratulations, your fiancée is pregnant” he says.

“What again? Can you come again? I asked.

“Your fiancée is pregnant” he says and I was so surprised.

“Thank you” I reply coldly and I remove my phone from my ear.

“I got her the contraceptive that day” I thought and I look at my mom and my mom was staring at me expecting me to speak as she was sipping her wine, I didn’t want her to know what the doctor said , I walk out of  my office an d walk towards her room.

As I walk towards her room, many things keeps crossing my mind.

“ Was she pregnant before that night? was she trying to trick me by telling me she wants to get some contraceptive? Was she ….? I knock on her door and she opens the door.

I was cold and I know she noticed it but she was still shivering and I couldn’t let  her stand shivering, I held her and help her sit and I stood with my hand folded across my chest.

“Why did you do it? Is that why you sneak into my room for one night stand? I asked coldly.

“what are you talking about? I don’t know what you are talking about? She said.

“You knew you were pregnant right and that is why you came into my life so that you can pin the pregnancy on me right? I asked her and tears rolled down her cheek.
