"If I end up winning the marathon, will it get you to reconsider?" She asked again when he said nothing.

"First think of how you will win the race. You aren't Valerie and am sure you don't even know the basics in joining a marathon" he said crossing his arm on his chest.

"Well if I set my mind to it, I can definitely achieve it" she said trying to assure herself.

"If you succeed in winning then I will believe that pigs do fly. If you have nothing else to say, I need to go for lunch" he said stopping whatever attempt she tried in getting him to listen to her.

Chloe stood watching him go, what's she gonna do now? She thought ruffling her hair in frustration.

~ CAFETERIA ~ .

"What should we eat guys?" Pearl asked as they went to get their tray to be served lunch.

"Anything as long as it's food cause am starving" Judy replied.

"But you just finished eating the burgers I couldn't finish a while ago" Mira said to Judy who let out a scoff.

"Burgers aren't food but snacks" Judy replied while Chloe who had been silently getting her food noticed Bryan and his friends seating at a table.

Her face lighten up when she thought of a plan.

"Come along girls" She said to her three friends who followed her to the boys table.

Chloe sat on the empty seat beside Bryan while the other girls sat else where except for Judy.

"Why are we sharing a seat with them?" Judy asked.

"I thought it might be fun" Chloe replied pulling her to seat beside Luke who she hates.

"But we don't think it's fun" Bryan said to her knowing what she's up to.

"Don't say that! It might not be fun for you but it is for me" David said winking at Pearl who blushed in return.

"Since the girls have joined us, what should we talk about?" Lucas asked.

"Why should we change our discussion just because they showed up?" Luke asked glaring at Judy.

"Just so you know am least interested in what you guys are talking about " Judy said starring at Luke.

"But you should be since it has to do with the sport festival" Bryan said to Judy.

"So as we were saying, I will participate in the hundred metre race " Lucas said.

"While I participate in the three legged race" David chip in.

"Aren't you ever going to change, you keep participating in that three legged thing all the time and it ends with a fight" Luke said to David who shrugged in reply.

"How does that end up in a fight?" Pearl spoke out.

"Due to my personality, girls tend to flock around me which leads them into fighting amongst themselves in who to perform the three legged race with me but I promise that I will pick a girl before any fight ensue amongst every one" David vowed looking sheepish before he turned to Pearl.

"What do you think? Will you do the three legged race with me" he said which got Pearl feeling excited.

"Don't listen to him Pearl, he's only going to make a fool of you" Judy said while Luke turned to her.

"Why don't we think of some thing for her to do? " He asked.

"Am not interested in doing a....."

"Why don't we make her queen of team Alpha?" Luke suggested aloud while every one stared at him even Judy.

"What? Are you looking down on her because of the way she dress? An ugly duckling can certainly be turned in to a swan" Luke said defending his point.

"But still, the Queen the other team will certainly choose will be more....how should I put it" David muttered starring at Judy's baggy top and trouser.

"I will do it" Judy said which got every one starring at her including Luke who had made the offer.

"What did you say?" Mira spoke for the first time.

"I said I will take the position of our team's Queen. Just like Luke said every ugly duckling can certainly be turned into a swan and I will make sure I look like a swan that day" She said glaring at Luke daring him to say some thing which he never did.

"Since that is settled, I...."

"We still haven't settled the marathon, we've got two girls from other class who have agreed in doing it but then we....."

"I will do it!" Chloe said cutting Lucas off while Bryan stared at her.

"But you said you weren't going to do it" David spoke eating his beef.

"I changed my mind, now more than ever I really wanna join the marathon " She replied with determination while also starring at Bryan.

"You really don't give up right?" Bryan murmured beside her while he spooned the beef stew into his mouth clumsily leaving some stain on his lips.

Seeing this Chloe picked up a tissue and moving towards him, she help him wipe the stain off his lips while the others watch.

"You should know by now that I don't give up" she replied wiping the stain off his lips giving Bryan a better view of her lovely face.

Bryan who felt startled by her action sat still watching her, he couldn't deny that she had lovely eyes and her scent, her scent was mesmerizing and ...what's he doing? He thought even as he pushed her hand away.

"What is going on between you two?" David asked.

"Are you perhaps dating?" Luke added which got Bryan coughing.

"Of course not" he replied while Chloe kept enjoying her beef soup not saying anything.

None of them noticed Leo and Stephanie who were also present in the cafeteria watching them.

"Do you think some thing is going on between Valerie and your brother?" Stephanie asked Leo.

"I doubt it" Leo replied his gaze solely on Chloe and Bryan....

< VALERIE'S HOME ~ GYM >

Chloe was in the gym working out when Stephanie came to join her.

"Preparing for the marathon? I suggest you don't cause your gonna lose" She said watching Chloe who kept running on the running machine.

"If you are here to annoy me, I suggest you don't but instead you can help me watch the time" Chloe said while Stephanie sent her a glare.

"I just came to ask you about some thing" Stephanie said moving towards the machine.

"What's going on between you and Bryan?" She asked.

"Nothing" Chloe replied her focus on what's she is doing.

"But you two seemed intimate during lunch today? Are you perhaps dating?" Stephanie asked and that got Chloe stopping the machine.

"Why are you asking?" Chloe asked in return.

"Am just curious" Stephanie replied.

"Then you might as well go and ask Bryan. Since you are dating his brother, he will gladly tell you about it. Am very busy " Chloe said taking her face towel before leaving the gym.

A while later Chloe was on the phone trying to call Carmen, hoping that some how she will get a reply when she lost her footing and ended up falling down the stairs.

Chloe clutch on her right foot since it sprained during her fall but apart from that, she had no other injury which got her feeling relieved.

Getting a ice pack will help relieve her foot pain, she thought even as she went to the kitchen.

< NEXT DAY ~ HOSPITAL>

"Your foot is sprained, you've got to rest it for some few weeks" the doctor told Chloe.

"Few weeks? But I will be participating in a marathon this Friday" she said.

"Then you've got to quit it " he replied which got Chloe thinking about the deal she made with Bryan.

"I can't possibly quit " she said.

"If you don't want to end up as a cripple, I suggest you follow my advise. These are some drugs you can get to relieve the pain and remember not to stress your foot " the doctor said even as she left his office.

She had woken up to feel her foot hurting like crazy and so she had called up her friends to tell them that she will be late to school and was only expecting some sort of drug to lessen her pain in the hospital but she ended up receiving this news instead, she thought as she kept limping.

She was heading to the nurse office when she saw Leo walk by.

"What's he doing here?" She murmured to herself and was still watching him when she noticed that he was following Bryan.

What would Bryan be doing in the hospital and why would Leo be quietly following him?

Quickly she pulled out her phone and made a call to Bryan.

"You've got to leave the hospital, you are being followed by Leo"

"Uh? How on earth is that possi....."

"Just do as I say and you will lose him" she said cutting him off.

A while later, she stood at the back entrance of the hospital waiting for Bryan to show up which he did and quickly she pulled him to hide behind a wall.

Leo came out a while later and not seeing any one, he went back into the hospital.

"That was a close one" she murmured before glaring at Bryan.

"What are you even doing here?" Chloe yelled at him.

"Trying to make sure am correct" he replied even as she stared at the spoon which he had wrapped up in a nylon.

"Whose cutlery are those?" She asked already knowing the answer he would give.

"What do you think?"

"Are you going to keep up with this?" She asked feeling frustrated.

"Yes. The only thing I have to prove that you are not Valerie is my words and so I want to have a concrete evidence and the only way I can achieve that is by getting a DNA of you and Valerie's mom" he replied.

"You really are frustrating me. Why can't you just stay quiet until the race is over!"

"This is important to me. I know I might seem like a thief and a liar to you and believe me when I say I also feel that way but you should try to give me a chance too"

"Why aren't you telling me the important part? Why aren't you telling me where the real Valerie is and why you are pretending to be her? " He demanded in return.

"I already told you, I can't tell you because I made a promise to some one. The person isn't around or else I would have gotten her permission to tell you about it and....."

"I suggest you stop it! If you really are doing it for a good cause like you claim then you will be honest with me and since you can't do that, I can't keep your secret too" he added before walking off.

Not wanting things to end this way, Chloe chased him till she caught up with him in front of the hospital where he had his bike parked.

"You are being mean!" She yelled at him.

"This isn't me being mean, it's me....."

"It's you being the good observer, I know but you are starting to become a nosy person" she yelled again.

"Me! A nosy person?" He asked in surprise.

"If you aren't being nosy then why do you keep on butting in? Why aren't you giving me the chance I ask for?" Chloe asked.

"That's because I..."

"What's going on here?" A voice asked and that got them turning only to see.....
