Arthur was discharged the next afternoon, and Henry helped him drive home.
“Thanks, yrr,” Arthur said.
They had settled themselves in the drawing room, sitting on opposite sofas facing each other. Arthur had already asked the servant for some fresh juice, and they were waiting for it.
“Come on, yrr, Don’t embarrass me” Henry replied.
“Don’t you still want to know the reason?” Arthur said eagerly. It had become a habit for him to share anything related to her with Henry. He didn’t feel relaxed until he shared it because Henry always helped him and provided solutions.
Henry smiled at his words but didn’t say anything. He understood that it must be related to that girl, but he had no idea what had happened to make Arthur take such a big step.
Arthur sighed, realizing that Henry had predicted that it must be related to the girl. So he decided to start explaining on his own.
“It’s all because of Eva,” Arthur said, continuing the story of what actually happened that night on the mountain. His words shocked Henry, who couldn’t imagine things getting this much worse. He got lost in his own thoughts.
Arthur noticed Henry’s reaction, leaned his head against the sofa, and closed his eyes. Despite being discharged, he still felt weak. He closed his eyes to relax but couldn’t stop thinking about her.
He was thinking about the past events that led him and Eva to this dead end...

A few months ago:
The sound of heels echoed throughout the corridor. She walked gracefully, capturing everyone’s attention.
She wore a white dress coat with white pants and white heels. With all the white surrounding her fair complexion, she looked stunning.
Her face had a round structure with big blue eyes, long blonde hair, plump lips, and a small nose. All the boys were infatuated with her, while the girls envied her charm.
As she passed through the corridor, all the boys’ eyes followed her, and the girls looked on with envy.
Today, she dazzled everyone with her beauty in white. She was the epitome of beauty.
She entered the classroom, drawing all eyes toward her. The boys admired her, while the girls seethed with jealousy.
Her seat was always reserved in the front row, and it was empty as usual.
She sat down and brushed her hair back, causing them to fall over the back seat where her classmate Aliya was sitting.
“Tie your hair up,” Aliya said. Eva’s hair was bothering her work.
Eva turned toward Aliya.
“Seriously, my hair bothers you?” she said, emphasizing each word. “Why don’t you just admit that you’re jealous of them because you don’t have such beautiful and long hair?” Eva replied proudly, and it was true, her hair was indeed beautiful.
“Oh, come on, that’s only because of your so-called treatments that you do every week,” Aliya said roughly.
“OMG... Reallyyyy,” Eva replied sarcastically.
“Thanks to me, I’ve been blessed with true beauty and don’t need to prove it. I only take care of what I have. I never told you not to take care of your hair. You can go and get a better treatment than mine so you can see whose hair is better,” Eva magnified her beauty and wealth.
She never let anyone belittle her. She always kept others beneath her because of her charm. And where beauty didn’t work, she used her wealth.
At this moment, she used her wealth to put Aliya in her place, as she was not going to let her charm be overshadowed.
After hearing Eva’s words, Aliya became speechless. Everyone knew that Eva belonged to a millionaire family and had access to treatments beyond their imagination. Aliya couldn’t say anything further.
Unable to find words, Aliya stood up from her seat and started collecting her stuff. Her face clearly showed her anger, but she couldn’t say anything. Eva observed her with a smile, as she enjoyed making others angry and seeing them powerless.
As Aliya moved toward another seat in the opposite corner, she muttered to herself, “Who likes to talk to Pride?” But her voice reached Eva’s ears, and it instantly made her furious. She wanted to reach Aliya and teach her a lesson, but at that moment, the math teacher entered the class, and she couldn’t leave her seat.
She was extremely angry with Aliya and had decided to teach her a lesson.
After the class ended, Eva left immediately.
Aliya packed her stuff and headed to the canteen for lunch. As she descended the staircase, she was suddenly shocked. Within seconds, she was completely drenched with water, the colour of which was pitch black, ruining her dress and her face.
Angrily, she looked up to see who had done this, and her anger escalated.
In the corridor, Eva was standing on the first floor with her friends Azar and Nadeem.
Nadeem was holding a pitcher, still spouting black drops of water, ensuring that they had poured it over Aliya.
Aliya looked at them, biting her lower lip. The three of them had evil smiles on their faces.
Anyone passing by smiled at Aliya. She felt embarrassed and ran away from there.
Eva laughed wickedly at Aliya’s reaction. She had noticed the small tears in Aliya’s eyes, which made her even more satisfied.
“How dare she call me ‘Pride’? Now she remembers to stay within her boundaries,” Eva said ruthlessly. She descended the stairs to reach the canteen and enjoy something delicious. Both boys followed behind her like servants.
Eva didn’t seem to care too much about them.
“Okay, today I’ll treat you to something delicious. You can eat whatever you want, and I’ll pay for it,” Eva said openly, filled with happiness.
Azar and Nadeem were not her close friends; in fact, she never made any male friend too close, as she believed they would misunderstand her and become a headache for her. She kept all the boys at a distance. In truth, she only used them for certain tasks; otherwise, she didn’t care about any boy. She believed that no one in this world could make her fall for them, as she took great pride in her beauty.
