"Welcome to Chicago," Klaus said with a smile, seeing Henrik descend from a car along with Katherine, Caroline, Megan, and Alicia.
"Well, here I am. The first thing I did after having breakfast was running over here," Henrik rolled his eyes.
"And I appreciate that," Klaus smirked with a shrug. "You got here just in time, as I was about to visit my old witch friend."
"Why are you here, Stefan?" Caroline interjected. "Damon is so worried because you ran away."
"Love, you must be Caroline, Right? leave my pal alone. He came all the way here to still party with me," Klaus dismissed Caroline, finding her a bother to his renewed plans. "Damon can manage for a while without his brother."
"Yes, Caroline. As he said, Damon can do something else besides bothering me against my will," Stefan said sarcastically.
"You..." Caroline wanted to reprimand him for being an asshole to Elena but stopped midway, as Klaus shouldn't know she was still alive.
"If we're done here, let's get inside," Klaus clapped his hands with a smile and moved inside an old building.
"Katherine... What are you doing with them?" Stefan asked her weirdly.
"What's the problem, Stefan? Can't a girl accompany her man around?" Katherine mischievously said as she attached herself to Henrik's arm, pushing her breasts against him.
Stefan had an incredulous look, thinking she was plotting something instead of being in some relationship. Which maybe she was, or maybe she wasn't.
"Stefan, I don't know you, and you don't know me, but you're doing a dumb thing being here instead of back at your home, just saying," Henrik said as they walked inside.
Once inside the building, Klaus moved beside Stefan and said, "Looks familiar, doesn't it?"
"I can't believe this place is still here," Stefan said, looking around.
"You've got to be kidding me," a skinny, mature-old woman said a little farther away from the group.
"So a hybrid walks into a bar, says to the bartender..." Klaus said, smiling.
"Stop. You may be invincible, but that doesn't make you funny," the woman said as she moved to the group. She eyed warily all the unknown faces besides Klaus and Stefan.
"Heh. Some people don't appreciate your sense of humor, Klaus," Henrik snickered beside them.
"Don't start it, kid," Klaus rolled his eyes.
"I remember you," the woman said, looking at Stefan. Then she looked at the rest. "But I don't know the rest of them."
"Yeah. You're Gloria," Stefan said, looking weirdly at her. "Shouldn't you be..."
"Old and dead?" Gloria smiled mischievously. "Now, if I die, who's going to run this place, huh?"
"Gloria's a very powerful witch," Klaus commented slowly, as if amused.
"I can slow the aging down with some herbs and spells," Gloria said nonchalantly, observing the group. "But don't worry, it'll catch up to me one day."
"Stefan, why don't you go and fix us up a little something from behind the bar," Klaus said to him. Then he looked at the rest of the girls who came with Henrik and added, "You too, Katherine and girls, go with him. You stay here, Henrik."
"Yeah, sure thing," Stefan sighed and moved away. Henrik's girls followed after him.
"You look ravishing, by the way," Klaus said with a mischievous smile to Gloria.
Henrik wanted to scoff at that.
"Don't. I know why you're here," Gloria stopped him as she sat at a chair beside a table. "A hybrid out to make more hybrids? That kind of news travels."
"But what travels even faster and louder, with a lot of exclamations of surprise and wonder, is the existence of another unknown hybrid," Gloria said as she eyed Henrik's face for a moment.
"So what am I doing wrong? I broke the curse," Klaus asked a little impatiently. "While my partner here, he can make more hybrids, so it isn't something impossible. Look at those two wolves at the bar counter; he made them."
"Well, obviously you did something wrong," Gloria said with a shrug, thoughtfully.
"What? I did everything as I was told, but my blood isn't capable of making them transition fully into hybrids, while his can," Klaus growled.
"Look, every spell has a loophole, but a curse that old... We'd have to contact the witch who created it," Gloria said, calming him down. "Or you could use his blood to make more hybrids if it worked."
"It's not possible. Using him doesn't work out for my needs, as the hybrids don't listen fully to me. I need it to be done with my blood," Klaus simply denied what she said.
"About the other option, well, that would be the original witch who you would need to contact. She's very dead," Klaus smiled with a shrug.
"I know. And for me to contact her, I'll need help," Gloria nodded, already expecting his words. "Bring me Rebekah."
"Rebekah..." Klaus sighed deeply. "Rebekah is a bit preoccupied."
"She has what I need. Bring her to me," Gloria said dully, making Klaus's small smile disappear from his lips.
"Fine, I will look for Rebekah. In the meantime, I need you to make a little extra spell to reveal some truth to the words of my comrade Henrik here," Klaus said then. "He moves around sporting my last name and says that we are family, and that a witch's little locator spell would put some clarity into the matter at hand, showing that what he says has some truth in it."
"That is interesting," Gloria said, looking again at Henrik.
"I know, right?" Klaus smiled as he looked at Gloria and then at Henrik.
"Let's see. Child, give me your hand," Gloria said eagerly as she extended her hand.
Henrik looked at Gloria and knew she was looking for something different than doing a locator spell, as it wasn't done like that. Still, he extended his hand to her.
"Ah!" Gloria exclaimed in wonder and surprise after a moment, removing her hand from his.
"What's the problem?" Klaus inquired with a raised eyebrow.
"Nothing..." Gloria said quietly as she looked at Henrik's eyes, fascinated and scared, as she felt magic on him, making her terrified at the implications of it.
"So, can you start the locator spell?" Henrik asked with a smile, showing his white teeth to her.
"Yes... I would make the things needed ready," Gloria exhaled after a moment as she calmed down and said, getting up to look for the things.
"Good," Klaus said with a smile. He knew that something happened when Gloria touched Henrik, but she didn't say anything. But he wasn't in a hurry to inquire about it; he was more interested in knowing if Henrik was family.
The girls at the bar counter were also attentively listening to everything happening, and Stefan was the same.
Katherine was picking up every word and action happening in there to the letter, as she was thoughtful of it. Awaiting in excitement at the locator spell being done.
Stefan, while looking at the drinks, finds a picture on the wall and is surprised.
"What is this?" Stefan asks Klaus with doubt.
"Well, I told you when we came, Stefan," Klaus smiled widely. "Chicago's a magical place."
"But this is me. With you," Stefan said, unsure of what his eyes were seeing as he showed him a photo of them in the 1920s. "This doesn't make any sense. Why don't I remember you?"
"You said it yourself; that time had a lot of dark holes," Klaus shrugged, playing dumb about it.
Henrik scoffed about that.
"No, if you knew me, then why haven't you said anything?" Stefan asked doubtful.
"Soooo... You two were friends once, huh? This world is full of wonders," Katherine mischievously said from the side as she drank a glass with some drink, not expecting that.
"Oh, Katerina. The same kind of surprise I got when I found you being involved with Henrik here," Klaus shrugged at her. Then, he looked at Stefan. "I'm a little busy right now. Memory Lane will have to wait."
"I have a case of family history to uncover," Klaus smiled as he saw Gloria appear with a few things on hand. "So, are we ready, my favorite witch?"
"Yeah, I have what would be needed," Gloria rolled her eyes as she started putting a U.S. map and a few candles around it on the table.
"What the hell is going on? Answer me," Stefan insisted.
"Let's just say we didn't get off to a brilliant start," Klaus chuckled at Stefan. "To be honest, I hated you, but you got involved with someone close to me. You will see her later as Gloria needs her."
"Your sister. So I knew another original vampire," Stefan said sarcastically and confused.
"If you can't handle it, then don't ask," Klaus said.
"Alright, stop talking. You are dispersing my juju," Gloria interrupted Klaus and Stefan's chat.
"Hand," Gloria said eagerly as she looked at Henrik with her hand extended to him and in her other, a dagger.
Henrik, seeing her active and eager willingness to perform the spell, knew she was looking to collect his drops of blood, as they were a powerful medium of magic, as she already saw that he was a tribrid and not a hybrid after feeling his magic or something along this line. Having no choice and not caring so much, he gave her his hand.
"Uh-uh. Let's see what happens next," Klaus said with a smile, also eager to know some truth of Henrik's identity.
Gloria cut Henrik's palm with the knife, and his blood dropped into the map until it closed. Gloria quickly left the dagger stored apart in a box and then started chanting her personal incantation of the spell locator, as different witches said different words while performing it.
After a moment, Henrik's blood started wiggling around and separated into four paths: one being Chicago where they were, another pointed to New Orleans, while a third one to Mystic Falls, and the last one wiggled around in place until it dissipated after a moment.
"That's...unexpected, actually," Henrik commented thoughtfully after seeing the three places where his blood was pointing. Chicago because of Klaus and the rest, New Orleans he attributed to maybe Freya or... his mother, Hayley. The thought of his mother made him excited and horny at the thought of finding her and making her part of his pack. He looked at his side as Katherine was perched beside the table looking at his blood and the locations and smiled, already thinking of how to find Hayley and make her be brought to him.
What made him confused was the blood pointing to Mystic Falls, as there shouldn't be anyone in there at this moment that could be his family, as Esther was dead and shouldn't point to her resting place, making him wonder about it. The last blood that dissipated, he assumed, was Dahlia, but as she shouldn't be near the U.S., it dissipated, or because if she was, then she had some cloaking spell.
"Yes, it is. It seems to me you have more family than you anticipated, eh?" Klaus asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Can this spell be more precise? It doesn't tell us too much info, with them only pointing to the cities," Klaus asked Gloria.
"Yes... It can," Gloria looked with regret and sadness at the blood on the map as she took one from Chicago and dropped it over it. Sighing, she started chanting again as the blood under the map moved over it and started pointing to two places: one to the building where they were and then the other to another place in Chicago.
"It seems you weren't kidding. We are family," Klaus said, surprised as he looked at the places where the blood pointed.
