It wasn't that she hated him for suddenly being so considerate, but the change in his attitude and gestures stirred the wrong tugs that she had long sequestered around her heart. And somewhere, her mind was aware that it could be anyone else but him to unravel them!
"How is Jackson?" she asked, trying to distract herself. Zayden, who had been happy until now, sighed at her question. She could have started something else than that deteriorating wolf.
"Not good. He isn't responding to any of our trials."
"So you won't be able to save him from transforming into a demon?" Ziana wondered, worry etching her face. If he became a demon, then… She just couldn't fathom the chaos that it would bring into all her beloved's lives again.
