Prologue

London, 2000

"Promise me you'll take care of our child?" Eira said, with tears welling up in her eyes as she passed a young child no more than the age of 1 in the hands of her husband, Ambrose.

"Do we really need to do this?"

"Yes, to keep OUR CHILD save. Please, Ambrose, don't make this harder than it already is..." Tears rolling down her cheeks as she looks at her husband pleadingly. Ambrose's heart aches as he knew that, soon, they would be forced to separate, not knowing when they would meet again.

Tears streamed down his cheeks continuously as he looks at his wife. But knowing they would reunite again, he wiped off his tears, looks at his wife with determination in his eyes and a gentle smile that soothes her ache, as he simply said, "All right."

With his left hand holding their child, he held out his right hand towards his wife. Eira took a dagger out from the sheath held by her belt and cuts the palm of her left hand, then continued to cut her husband's palm. Both of them put the palms of their hands against each other as they start reciting a spell. The wind rises and it starts to snow, growing stronger by the second, as they continued reciting louder and louder till it becomes a full-on blizzard around them. Just then, behind Eira, shouts could be heard from a group of people closing on them.

"STOP EIRA, WE CAN'T LET THE CHILD GO FREE!" Oberon shouted towards her. The group of people tried to get closer but can't due to the blizzard occurring around them. Eira and Ambrose continued to recite while ignoring them. A few minutes later, they finally finished the spell and let go of their hands and the blizzard stopped instantly.

They shared one last kiss before Eira said, "I love you." She makes a big smile towards her husband which only pains him more, but he still forced himself to smile as he replied, "I'll see you soon."

A barrier slowly rises up between them as it closes the gate to Alium. The group lead by Aeron quickly ran towards them.

"NO! WHAT HAVE YOU DO-" Oberon shouted but was cut off by the barrier. Now, the once huge bright gate to Alium has been sealed, along with all other gates in the world and only Ambrose knows how to unseal the gate.

Ambrose looks at his child, as he smiled innocently at his father and in that moment, Ambrose wished his child could have grown up with his mother, with warm hugs every now and then, gifts from all their friends when celebrating his birthday, leading a normal but fulfilling and happy life. But he knew that was impossible, he knew his child has a destiny that far surpasses his own desires and to fulfil it, his child would have to first survive. He knows what he has to do.

Just then, a five-tailed fox pure white in colour ran into the room that Ambrose and his child were in, dozens of footsteps could be heard not far behind. The fox ran towards them saying, "喂,姓风的,准备好了没有?!" (Hey, Feng, you ready?!)

Ambrose nodded towards her as she ran to his side. Now, right beside Ambrose, she spits out a bright blue and purplish flame that's just the size of a fist and hovered near his chest. It quickly expands till its 2 metres tall, an alleyway just a few metres away from the building could be seen in the portal surrounded by the flames. Ambrose and the fox stepped into the portal as the guards entered the room, Su Yi teasingly smiled and waved towards the guards at the other side of the portal as it becomes smaller and smaller till the flames extinguish, closing the portal.

Now in the alleyway, Su Yi asked, "我们现在该怎么办呢?" (What should we do now?)

"还怎么办? 逃呀!" (What else? Escape!)

"逃去哪里?" (Escape to where?)

"去新加坡." (To Singapore)

"哈?为什么?" （What? Why?)

"你忘了吗? 我姐可在哪儿." （Have you forgot? My sister lives there.) As he sighs at her forgetfulness.

At the London City Airport, Su Yi now already transformed into her human form, got 3 passports and plane tickets to Hong Kong using her mind control. With the plan Ambrose has come up with, they planned to take the latest flight, then change to another flight to prevent being found easily, then steal another set of passports and plane tickets to Singapore. They quickly went to the toilet to shapeshift and before long, they are on their way to Hong Kong.
