'Holy hell, that was scary'

Wiping the sweat off my brows, I felt a slight stickiness along with it. Touching my body, I noticed a slimy substance all over my body.

'Did I just awaken my martial spirit?'

Martial spirits are imperative to cultivators because, without these martial spirits, it was impossible to the spirit qi of heaven and earth. Martial spirits are awakened with two methods.

Firstly, the induced awakening which was done by high-ranked cultivators using a secret technique to induce the feeling of danger on the host soul to arouse the martial spirit. This method was hoarded by clans and sects.

The second was rare which was the natural awakening.

This type of awakening occurred in less than one in ten million people and normally It happened to those who were blessed by the heavens.

'It seems that I haven't been forsaken by the heavens just yet"

After taking time to control my emotions, I sat down on my bed to take stock of myself.

I could hear the steps of a servant walking about the hallways, the wind smelled sweeter than I remembered, the stench from my body smelled even worse and it felt like I could chase a bike if I were back on earth. 

'If only my friends on earth could see me now '

At this moment, I remembered the huge snake that seemed to be his martial spirit. I began to meditate and moved my consciousness, a large snake appeared behind me, giving off an eldritch aura of might and power.

A knock suddenly sounded on the door, I put away my martial spirit but the door was opened and someone walked inside.

Recognising the steps he greeted "Good morning Edna".

She did not reply and Instead asked "What's that smell?" while looking around the room.

"I have stepped on the first stage of body refinement"

"Impossible, you didn't take part in the awakening ceremony".

He ignored the hidden question and said "I hope you'll keep what you've seen here a secret".

"I'll tell the first madame about this".

"Okay, do so but only her".

My statement signalling the end of the conversation, I began to take off his clothes while she went to prepare a hot water bath for me.

Hearing her footsteps leave the room, I went into the bath to wash off. After a few minutes, I walked out and picked the clothes left on the bed for me to wear, wore them and sat on the bed.

Folding my legs and posing like an earthly monk, I began meditating and moved my new consciousness around.

'Mom said that to begin cultivating, you need to sense the spirit qi of heaven and earth and take it for your own'. He began to 'sense' a strange energy and began willing it towards his body.

It began nourishing my skin, limbs and even the serpent martial spirit.

After about two hours, Kade stopped meditating and opened his mouth to emit a clump of foul air. Right after, he got up and moved about, punching through the air he felt that his punch could bend a car's chassis on earth.

With that, he began to smile "This is interesting".
