finding wings part

There was a bright light, and for a moment I couldn't see anything. I began to take a step forward, but I nearly fell. "Ah!". There was no ground in front of me.

A few stones broke loose and fell into the void. As my vision cleared, I could see a water fall in the distance.

"Where are my?". I mummbed.

The water gurgled and hissed, but there was something strange about it: it was rising, not falling.

"I must be dreaming". I told myself. It was a comforting thought, but everything felt so real.

Behind me stood a forest with gigantic trees stretching their branches towards an endless sky. I turned around and looked again.

"Act!"

I heard the voice in my head and all around me at the same time. It roared like thunder, or like a striking of a gong.

I Immediately understood that something terrible would happen if I disobeyed. I had to act.

"People can't die in their dreams. The fall will wake me up." I took a few steps back and took a running jumb off the ledge.

"Aaaah!" The void welcomed me in it's arms. My heart pounded in my ears and I froze in panic.

"This isn't a dream! I'm going to die!" Fear over took over. My hands reached out, desperately grabbing for anything that can save me.

I closed my eyes, unable to bring myself to face death. Suddenly, I heard something behind me. I was slowing down. I stooped, and began to rise. Then I realized that I was moving something...

"Wings!" I was moving them intuitively. I started laughing both in panic and disbelief.

"This is crazy!" As I rose higher, the Earth's outline appeared below me.

But as soon as my feet touched the ground, my wings fell away, feathers drifting off like autumn leaves, Leaving nothing behind.

The world around me began to flicker, sway and dissolve, like a passing mirage.

Then, the flickering stopped and I was back on the ledge.

I heard short, deliberate clapping behind me. I flinched and turned towards the sound.

"Bravo! To jump into the void is a brave act, even for one who believes they are dreaming."

"Who are you?" As if it were his answer, the wings on his back spread.

"My name is Geralt."

A woman and a young man emerged from the forest. A strange creature followed them, joyfully bounding up and down.

FYR!

"How lovely! Congratulations on passing the test." The woman said.

The guy silently sized me up.

"What's going on?" I asked, but no one responded. "Am I dead?"

"Wow. She's quick." Geralt said with a smile.

The thought had pooped into my head in it's own, but my entire being rejected that idea. The woman took my hand, trying to comfort me, and my panic began to subside.

She squeezed my hand tighter and look into my eyes. "My name is misselina. This is Andy".

The guy nooded silently. He hadn't taken his eyes off me.

I started to shout. Geralt's and the tense silence were getting to me. "Who are you? Answer me!"

"You have quite the temper, don't you". Misselina said. "I understand it's hard to accept, but it is true. You are dead."

"That's enough prologue, misselina." Geralt said with a frown. "Every human is tested after their death. Some jumped like you did. But not everyone gains their wings during their fall, so they fail.

"Then they follow their path leading to either heaven or hell." Geralt explained.

"But there are those, such as yourself, who succeed! They are the choosen ones. And you stand among them. Andy here was also chosen." Misselina said. She gave him a little nudge from behind, but he only nodded his head slightly, watching me with his eyes half-open.

"What does being chosen mean?" I asked Geralt. He seems to have a lot of information.

"The chosen are invited to enter our demons and angels academy." Garalt responded.

"The academy is critical to both the mortal world and ours. It keeps the balance." Misselina added.

"From time to time you will descend to earth to help people stay on the path of either good or evil: help them make a choice, be it right or wrong." Gelralt explained further.

'Oh my God... I'm I hallucinating or is this really happening'. I just can't bring myself to believe this, even when it felt so real. As though she could feel my fear, misselina took my hand again.

"You'll gain power. You'll see immortality from a different perspective. New prospect would open for you." Misselina said.

I subconsciously looked at andy who smirks, but when I looked again, there is no smirk in his face.

'is it me, or did he just smirk'.

The sky flickers as the distant waters began to fall, succumbing to gravity. But it was only for a moment before they began to rise again.

"It's time. You must decide." Geralt said as he looked at the distant waters.

"Deside? But how can I agree to something that I don't really understand."

Misselina saw something in my eyes---she recoiled sharply and nodded to Geralt. "She's ready"

Geralt slapped me in the back. I fell on my knees, my eyes filled with water. A sharp pain pierced my shoulder blades, and I screamed.

I suddenly fell silent, scared of the sounds of my own screams.

Andy knelt down in front of me to look me in the eyes.

"We all go through this. It's okay, just breathe."

He kept staring into my eyes as though he could somehow take my pains away. But the pain only grew. I felt my skin tearing apart, like something inside me was trying to excape.

"Let them out! She them free!" Misselina exclaimed.

"Relax. Just let go." Andy encouraged me again. I lifted my head and look at him. He was focused and calm. He was studying my face. He stared at me as I pressed my lips together. "Ah!"

I heard a loud tearing sound, followed by a rustle. The pain disappeard, leaving only a pulsating sensation in my back. I look over my shoulder and froze. There were feathers at my back. I-i got wings.

"Now you are one of us!." Misselina said smiling.

"They'll tell you the rest at the academy." Geralt said.

Still staring in disbelief, I tried to spread my wings. A few drops of blood splattered on the ground. "Oh".

"Don't rush. You'll be able to fly soon enough, but for now, give your wound time to heal." misselina said.

"I...didn't think immortals could feel pain." I said to Geralt.

"Pain allows us to be alive. And it keeps us in check. The sea dragon will take you to the academy. fyr?" Geralt said before calling the sea dragon.

Hearing his name, fyr immediately jumped up and shook his head excitedly.

"Andy, will you bring her up to speed." misselina said to Andy.

Andy nooded while looking at me.

"Would you stop staring at her?, Have some shame!" Thankfully, Geralt noticed that too.

Andy pouted as he took me by the waist and help me up on fyr.

"Wait! What if I fall?!". Shit!! Why didn't I thought of it earlier. No. I have to come down. I can't risk it, dream or not.

"That'll be an excellent time to learn to fly". Geralt responded with a smile that is not really a smile.

"Good luck, we would see each other again, Vicky". Misselina waved me off.

"But..." I wanted to protest, but the Dragon suddenly jolted forward. I instinctively grapped onto him. And he took off into the sky.
