Don't Choose A Lunatic

A/N: For those who are curious about Heaven/Sora and where he is in comparison to his history and relatively to Ascending To Supremacy, this story is happening way earlier before Ascending To Supremacy

____________

Finally, after a short search, Heaven found a small broken piece of blade. The broken piece of metal came from a pencil sharpener that had broken not that long ago. His past self being rather cheap, didn't bother buying a new sharpener and instead continued using this broken blade.

Using his telekinesis, Heaven manipulated the blade and slowly made it revolve around him like the moon does to Earth.

As it spun around him, Heaven reduced the amount of energy on the blade.

By reducing the amount of units used, the energy should slowly start to get stronger in response to the hardships they endured. For now, Heaven didn't need to worry about the amount of energy he has, that will naturally rise along with his depletion and recovery of mental energy.

Like this, Heaven trained in this manner for two hours.

The amount of mental energy he had was still a pitiful singular unit, but it's strength and endurance was similar to two units.

As long as Heaven continued training like this, the resilience and strength of his mental energy would grow, promoting the strength of his telekinesis by a lot.

Standing up, Heaven pocketed the broken blade, planning to use it to train whenever he could.

Heading out of his room, Heaven showered and changed into a new set of clothes before inspecting his body carefully.

His body didn't change much outwardly, but as long as he began training and eating well, his body will grow and develop well. Inwardly, his muscular and skeletal structure changed and was enhanced in order to allow him to perform martial arts perfectly.

Seeing as how it was already quite late, Heaven meditated for a bit before heading to sleep.

The next day, Heaven was at work, helping Howard and occasionally going over to help Abraham.

No one noticed anything different about him.

Nearing the five hour mark of work, Heaven noticed Peggy from the corner of his eye.

Lifting his head out of Abraham's notes, Heaven turned to Peggy.

"Good afternoon, Agent Carter," Heaven greeted with a smile.

Peggy approached Heaven and looked at the journal and pen in his hands.

"What are you doing?" Peggy asked curiously.

Heaven passed Abraham's notes to Peggy and said, "Dr. Erskine asked me to revise his notes and fix some problems for him."

"Mm…" Peggy nodded and accepted the journal from Heaven only to look at the journal with a blank expression.

She knew a bit of chemistry and biology, but the things in the journal were of a whole other level. She only recognized a few of the words but even then it didn't help her paint a vague picture.

Seeing her blank expression, Heaven stood up and went over to Peggy's side.

"This symbol here…"

Slowly, Heaven began to explain to Peggy the notes on the page she was on. He guided her through it and explained in simple terms that allowed her to understand rapidly.

"I see… and all this is just to configure one chemical to prepare it for mixing with another chemical before separating both once more?"

"Yes. These two chemicals change each other so slightly that it goes unnoticeable even under a microscope. The chemical changes and it's properties were altered by the mixing and separating," Heaven explained as he flipped the page and showed Peggy another page filled to the brim with notes.

Looking at the page, Peggy wisely passed the notes back to Heaven and said, "It's fascinating. When will this be finished?"

Smiling, Heaven closed the journal and pocketed it away in his lab coat before guiding Peggy to the cooler.

"There's a certain process Abraham and I are conducting… long story short, around six months or less," Heaven explained.

Opening the door to the freezer room, Heaven led Peggy to a corner with a special set of equipment containing multiple vials of liquid.

"This is a special liquid that only Dr. Erskine knows of. A special chemical he created that will be a crucial ingredient to the Super Soldier Serum. This freezing process will alter the structure of the chemical in a special way that can't be replicated through flash freezing or storing in a cryogenic storage system. The special chemical is going through a special step by step process Dr. Erskine and I have developed…"

Heaven smiled as he spoke and told Peggy small details about the chemical itself. Other than Abraham knowing the composition of the special chemical, Heaven also knew of it.

Being very knowledgeable, Heaven was quite aware of problems that having knowledge that others don't have could have. The instant that the Super Soldier Serum project is successful, America and the Allies will demand mass production for elite squads of Super Soldiers.

By then, it will manage to get itself leaked and various wars more terrifying than a world war will occur. Genetic wars or even worse, wars that end in extinction of every living being on Earth.

Whilst still a mortal with no real power over the world, Heaven wasn't willing to lead an entire world to its own destruction. If he had strength and power, Heaven could make everyone a super soldier and prevent wars, but not whilst he was currently weak.

"Six months…"

"Yes. It's not too early, but neither is it too long of a time to wait. You need to look for a suitable candidate before a lunatic gets chosen," Heaven said meaningfully as he looked at Peggy.

Peggy smiled and nodded, "As long as I'm here, something like that will not happen."

"Let's hope so," Heaven said as he closed the freezer and led her out.

"I'll check up on you and Dr. Erskine to see how thing are going. If you, or Dr. Erskine, need anything, be sure to speak up or contact me."

Heaven nodded, "Don't worry. I'll relay the message to Dr. Erskine, and should either of us require anything, we will contact either you or the others."

"I'll go check up on Stark. Keep up the good work," Peggy said before walking away, but not before glancing once more at Heaven.

Waving goodbye to her, Heaven watched as Peggy left with pursed lips before he turned his attention to the journal.

Nothing really important or significant was in the journal, just a way to mask his true capability from the military and the rest of the world. At best, Heaven would be a genius on a level below Howard Stark.

Humming a soft tone, Heaven read the journal whilst a small metal cube was spinning and orbiting in a circular motion high above his head out of view from anyone's eyes. In just a single night, Heaven's mental energy had grown stronger and he could now lift heavier items with a single unit of mental energy.

Sadly, the quantity still did not increase and may remain so until his mental energy reaches it's limit in growing stronger.

Focusing back on his work, Heaven continued to improve both Howard and Abraham's project for the next six months.

Work went smoothly even after the government had removed every Asian from the project due to suspicion and worry caused by the Pearl Harbor incident. Some scientists and engineers publicly harassed some of the Japanese workers and the military had to eventually remove both parties from the project.

Due to confidentiality of the project, said people were imprisoned due to worry of information being leaked.

In these six months, nothing out of the ordinary occurred and Heaven went through the motions of life.

His mother remained nervous and embarrassed around him, occasionally being very bold when alone with Heaven. Nothing too bold, just eagerness to take the chance to sit next to him and hope that Heaven would do something to her.

Santos on the other hand still maintained his distance from Heaven and would even stay out of the house all night and only come back the next morning.

Aside from his family, Heaven began to write to and receive letters from Helen. Simple letters that talked about their day and asked how the other was doing. Calling wasn't possible due to the time difference and their work and school schedule.

By now, Peggy was already convinced that Heaven wasn't a spy. Even after reporting to her superiors, Peggy continued to visit Heaven due to their blossoming friendship.

***

Outside in the backyard of his family's house, Heaven looked at the thick metal plate before him, all disfigured from his strikes and kicks. Various indents were on the sheet of metal, from knees and kicks to palm imprints and finger stabs.

In these six months, Heaven's body naturally grew more solid and robust. His strength and endurance grew along with his vitality and toughness of his body.

At best, Heaven's strength could be considered at the peak of humanity, but with his extreme mastery in Martial arts, fighting experience, and control of his body, Heaven could quite easily produce more strength.

His toughness on the other hand, was a lot higher than his strength. If shot, Heaven was quite confident in stopping a bullet from piercing too deep within him with his muscles. His skin was a lot tougher as well, making it quite difficult for an ordinary knife to pierce through it.

Aside from toughness and strength, Heaven was more proud of his vitality. Maybe due to his now special blood and the large amount of vitality in his body, Heaven had attained a strong regenerative ability. Although he wasn't sure how strong it was, Heaven surmised that it should be quite weak.

Healing a small cut deep enough to draw blood should be able to heal in just an hour.

But that didn't matter, what mattered was that this ability could be improved with his growing vitality.

"Hmm…"

Looking at the disfigured sheet of metal before him, Heaven began to think about getting a stronger metal to train on. Either that or he might have to create his own metal that could compare to a couple of special rocks from the Immortal Realms.

Those that strengthened themselves to withstand future strikes similar to those that it withstood in the past.

For example, if you punch a rock with a force of 100 pounds and it cracks or breaks, that rock will no longer crack or break in the future against a strike with a force of 100 pounds.

A stone like this might be the best option for him.

Slicking his hair back, Heaven looked at the sheet of metal and with his telekinesis, Heaven fixed the sheet of metal back to it's original appearance. All with a single unit of mental energy, proving just how strong his mental energy has grown.

His mental energy had grown stronger in the past six months.

A single unit can last indefinitely unless it's used on something heavier than it can withstand. A single unit could now withstand close to half a ton, which was about 1,000 pounds (~454 kg).

It truly showed how far Heaven had gone to strengthen his mental energy to it's limits. Although it was a shame that he still only held one unit of mental energy. Still, along with the strengthening of

his mental energy, Heaven himself felt his perception and awareness becoming stronger allowing him to feel something vague…
